My favorite when visiting Germany was Hefeweizen Dunkel. The dark version of wheat beer. It wasn’t all that common in Germany to begin with, but in Canada it is non existent. I looked everywhere.

I've had the Krombacher Pils and it was decent enough 👍

The Pils is decent, it's a perfectly acceptable every day lager, both this and the Dark are a level up on the standard Pils though for their respective styles. Cheers!

As a Brit Ex-Pat in Germany I have to say that amongst Hefe-WeizenBier drinkers this offering from Krombacher (who are Part of a giant brewing corporation and not one if the smaller Bavarian Weizen brewers) is not really taken very seriously.
This is simply jumping on the bandwagon from Krombacher as Weizen is the "in" beer at the moment here in Germany..
I prefer dark German beers from small private breweries myself !!

Don't get me wrong, dark beers from smaller breweries (regardless of country) are my absolute favourite, but worth noting that this perspective is for the UK consumer where the choice isn't always too great for this style, so for a brewery that I agree I don't usually take all too seriously, in comparison to a lot of what's on our supermarket shelves right now, isn't bad at all. Maybe not great, but I couldn't find a great deal "wrong" with it on face value. Of course, all down to personal preference! Cheers!
