My gosh Robert. Where to start? First this is by far your best video ever! You hinted to me about the seat a few weeks ago at breakfast and I’m super impressed. I’m looking forward to the long term review because looks and comfort are equally important to me and yours is beautiful.
My wife and I have mixed feelings about cruise ships. We’ve been on two. 1 super large ship and one very small. All the things that you mentioned were true in our experience. We don’t drink much and gambling isn’t our thing so a balcony room was imperative. My wife of 44 years as of Friday made me laugh when she described it as “assisted living on water. “
FYI my Apple Car Play experience in my 50,000 Goldwing miles is excellent with the exception of extreme heat or when rain gets into my Cardo.
I was so fortunate to meet you guys in Dallas and was a bit surprised that you all were exactly in person as you are on CZcams. Hope to have the opportunity to see you again.
My mom is in the top 5% of cruisers on Princess and she says the very same thing "Assisted Living". I really struggled with the audio on this video, so many different environments. I love the seat. It is definitely better than the stock, although it will take time to really know. But the looks alone and the fact that it can't be easily scratched, carried the day for me. Robert - great seeing you again, on video that is. You've covered so many things in this one! We were in Florida back in February and went to the Ultimate Seat store where we picked out our seat and ordered it. We too did an inlay in the lighter red and got some very cool embroidery. It makes our 2005 black cherry pop like nothing I could have imagined. Since we don't have OEM seat heat, we ordered ours with heat, which was an excellent, albeit expensive option, decision. Ours arrived the day before Good Friday, and it was way too cold here in OH to test ride it. We finally got a 100-mile ride in a couple weeks later. I know what you mean about feeling maybe a little bit closer to the handlebars. Since Ultimate didn't have our seat in stock, when I asked about which model, Chris there said without hesitation I shouldn't go with the king due to my 5' 11.5" height. Plus, if we get the king, it takes space away from the co-rider. My wife rides with me all the time, so I didn't want to take room from her. Regarding your comments about the cruise, I'm still trying to decide if you were glad you went! I have no desire to anymore. Nothing like being around 5,000 - 6,000 of your closest 'dirty butt friends' and all the mayhem that goes with it. The last time we cruised, I think it was 2009, they didn't have all the drink package crap and other revenue enhancements. I'll find your email and send you a pic of our seat and how it completely changed the look of the bike. We did a ride to Hilton Head Island where the heat came in very handy in the mountains of Virginia, and comfort was absolutely amazing. On day 2 of the ride home my wife did use her Purple seat pad which was a regular on the OEM seat. I think it was mostly due to that trip being very early this riding year, and our first long ride of the season. Great video, thanks for putting it together. Take care.
Jim welcome back and congratulations on the new seat. I'm loving mine! My wife can't ride very often due to her health so it's really just for me. I will give it several months before my final judgement. My enthusiasm for cruising is waning a bit. The only one left on my must do list is a cruise to Alaska. My camera is dying to go on one of those. When I go to Colorado later this year I will likely take some memory foam to sit on... just a small square aught to do it. Robert that’s a nice seat. You will more than likely have to cowboy mount that bike for sure now to clear the drivers backrest. We are blessed to only live 45 minutes away from Galveston. We cruise a lot and I mean cruiseman lot. We no longer cruise Carnival and opt for Royal Caribbean cruise line and other more premium cruise lines. Try one of Royal Caribbean big ships talk about a great experience. I thought the entertainment was good at first with carnival but it fails by comparison to Royal Caribbean. The elevator scene is bad but the next time you cruise try avoiding the elevators next to the restaurant’s by transversing forward or aft away from the restaurant. The smoky atmosphere from the casino can be avoided by going down and under or up and over. Every cruise ship has a set of forward that services the theater and no casino nonsense.

The audio was very low on this video. By the way, I just got back from Colorado Springs, & it was beautiful; however, it rained one day, so we just sat in the hotel & chatted.We went north to come home, up through Breckenridge, which was also beautiful, but all hell broke loose en route to Grand Junction. It rained so hard on I-70, we could barely see the road, there was piles of hail alongside the highway exit, & our hotel got flooded. I'm not sure if my pants were wet from Mother Nature, or loss of bodily function.
Nick, I chatted via fb text with your wife while you were gone. She was admiring one of my photos and said you were traveling. Oh my what conditions! I’ve been caught out once in something similar. Glad you made it safely. And yes the audio was a mess on this one . Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

I was cruising with Norwegian in Alaska the same week as you. All four of us got COVID but our experience with the ship were basically identical to your observations. Sorry Robert, but your audio was definitely sub-par for this video, however there was some improvement with visor open. I experience similar issue with wireless microphone in the helmet and have found better quality with the livelier microphone. I too purchased an Ultimate seat, driver and passenger backrest for my 2015 CanAm Spyder SE6 Limited. Definitely a quality product, but I only got another 20-30 minutes of ride time before I had to get off. Following Cruiseman’s recommendation, I tried the Wingsoft modification for my 2023 Goldwing DCT Tour, but I don’t think that got me to 90 minutes in the seat. I went the RDL way and for the first time in my 50+ years of riding motorcycles, I’ve found a company who knows how to build motorcycle seats. Good luck with your new seat.
James, I've heard great things about the RDL and was looking closely at them. The only swaying factor was the factory heat connection that I believe the RDL does not have. I agree about the audio... complete failure on this one. Learning. Thanks for watching and commenting, and Ride Safe !

One to add their own seat heating system wired directly to the main battery and two, retain the Honda OEM seat heating system. I retained the OEM driver and pax seat heating system including the harness and electrical connection. According to me and my wife the seat heating system operates well.
Robert & Tom you pro’s are solid. Metro area chaos in DFW is no joke. You pro’s navigate with stealth precision. Thank you for your friendship. Klim Baja S4 pants. Reviews are excellent. Not cheap. But with Klim or high quality safety gear. “Buy once, cry once”. There’s truth in that. Through Cycle Gear returns are free, if you return at the store. Looking forward to more in 24! I had to think about how much I'm actually out in the rain... it's very little so I'll take the compromise. I like that it's plug and play with the factory heat... some other brands are not. Thanks for watching Herman! I always appreciate your comments.
I was thinking... that stuff you spray on shoes to make them more weatherproof, is that not something for the seat as well. Would first check with the manufacturer. Just a thought!
I really like the new seat that color looks good on your bike you are really going to love it I have ridden in rain for quite a distance it didn't soak up any water as far as I could tell enjoy your seat
Art, that's great to know. First I'll try to not ride in the rain, but that has failed be before.... second I'll use the rain cover when I can... third I'll hope and water that gets in won't do any damage and dries just as quick. thank you for watching !!!

Nice seat Robert Sounds like you had a mostly good time on your cruise If you get the Honda USB plug for the airbag bike it goes through the front of the trunk where that plug is on the left Carlink overheating should be solved be safy
Thanks Kid, I have a USB connection in my saddle bag. Cruiseman had his Carlin Kit in the glove box and didn't have any trouble with it. It might be my phone getting to hot... I don't know.
@@robertwhitemoto That should work fine. I thought you had your phone on the handlebar mount, one would think it has plenty of airflow to not overheat, but I'm not an engineer. For anyone else out there, one could relocate the USB cable from the front to the trunk, use the plug in the trunk to plug the hole in the trunk and save money. Honda is good at making parts that fit everywhere. You had me laughing on some of your cruises,[ what the hell were they thinking ] Issues. Hope all in all you guys had a great time. sometimes you have to laugh at stupid, cause you can't fix it! Be safe. hope I speeelledd that correctly this time.
@@kidi8124lunch I tried the phone in different places today... still cutting out. my last test will be hard attaching the phone directly thru the USB rather than using the Carlin Kit device... we will see if that works.

The non-waterproof was why I wasn't happy with the ultimate...Here in Florida it can be sunny with not a cloud in the sky...You leave the bike parked an hour and come back to a soggy seat...It happened way too many times..........My Corbin doesn't absorb water.. Your nes seat looks sharp...I wish you the best of luck...FYI someone stole my rain cover off my Ultimate seat twice.

A friend of mine has the Ultimate mid-rider on his Gold WIng - wow, what comfort. I love cruising, I hate crowds of people. Cruising can be interesting - wife and I were alone in a hot tub for 4, guy gets in and thinks he can swim laps. Watched a 300 pounder in a bikini lift her rolls of fat at the poolside shower before getting in the pool. Hey, at least she showered I guess. Couple shows up to semi-formal dinner in the ripped up cutoffs and tank tops they were hiking around in all day. Surprised at the smoke in the casino on a new ship. Sounds like my days visiting the Cobra Club in Hurst on my annual training in the Arlington area.

Kevin yes… I would say marginally better that the stock seat. The pluses are, no permanent scuffing and the looks of the seat. Certainly better than stock though. The stickers were off eBay 😁. Thank you for watching!

I knew what was in the box before you opened it. I got the same box a year ago with the same setup in all black, tallboy for our Hawkeye Blue 2018. I should of ordered one soon as Ultimate had them available and ditched that awful OEM setup. I waited until a seam split on the OEM saddle before I ordered. What do you use for video and audio? I have a Hero 9, Osmo Action 1 & 3 and a Akaso V50 Pro. DJI wireless mics, Panda and other lav mics. Use DaVinci Resolve and can't get it right for love or money concerning motorcycles.
Hey Wing thanks for watching and reaching out. That's why I didn't drag out the "what's in the box" like some other YT's do... we all know what's in the dang box :) I waited a year because I had lots of other accessories I wanted first. As for AV.. I use an Insta360 Ace Pro on my left handlebar... a GoPro Hero10 on my right, paired to a Rode Wireless Me receiver. The transmitter is inside my hemet clipped to the standard microphone boom. The audio in this particular video was a big fail however. The rode was clipping and the Ace Pro without the Rode was way too soft. Normally the Rode does just fine and if my camera is on my helmet (or for voiceover work) I'll attach my Purple Panda which is awesome for the price and size.
