  • Apple's AirPods Pro ship with silicone tips that fit inside the ears, but people who prefer the tighter or more comfortable fit of foam have been modding their earbuds to add a foam layer. That's no longer necessary, as well-known earphone tips company Comply is now shipping its foam tips that are compatible with AirPods Pro.
We picked up a pair of the new Comply Foam Tips for ‌AirPods Pro‌ and tested them out in our latest CZcams video to see how they fit and whether they're an improvement over the silicone tips that the ‌AirPods Pro‌ ship with.

While traveling domestically in June, my AirPods 2 w/ Wireless Charging Case somehow ended up in an empty fast food bag, which was thrown away at an airport 600+ miles from home. After hearing mixed reviews both online and from friends, I decided to take the risky step and get the Pros. Long story short, I completely regretted it - I loved the sound quality and the noise cancellation, but am very physically active. The fact that they didn’t stay in my ears while doing simple activity, such as walking or running, was a dealbreaker for me. Over the past few months, I had considered going back to the AirPods 2, but heard that these memory foam tips really helped to keep the Pros in the ears. I decided to go with them, and am so glad that I did. They’re a total game changer - better noise cancellation and I rarely need to adjust them (even after an hour of HIIT). Plus, mine were around $8 on Amazon after a company coupon! So, yes - YOU NEED THEM and you’ll love them.

Comply foam is really good for comfort and sound isolation (i’ve used them with other headphones for years). They are much better than other cheaper foam tips. the problem is their cost vs lifespan. they cost quite a bit and do not last. after a while the foam falls apart and before that, the isolation affect of the form decreases.

Depends on how one maintains them. Mine are 1 year and counting. I wear them daily with Shure SE215. I clean them, like, 1-2 days per week with a reusable cotton pad, and the main trick, as I learned, is when you clean the top, do it while compressing it with two fingers (both sides tightly together), not, like, holding the tip with one hand and loosely cleaning with another. Cleaning the body is easier and less damaging. There will be signs of shabbiness over time, but it's tolerable, and, most important, it doesn't make much difference in passive noise isolation. Without the trick they wear off pretty quickly (2-3 months), the top breaks down in pieces after, maybe, a fifth cleaning session or so.

I bought these and now I think I get why apple used silicon tips instead of foam. They are WAY EASIER to clean if they get dirty (which most likely will because of wax, even if it's a really small amount). With the silicon tips, you can just kind of wash it off, with foam tips you can wash them too, but then they are not as effective, and some wax will still enter the foam itself after months of usage.
If you are ok with buying foam tips every few months, then buy them, otherwise it's really not worth it, they'll get dirty eventually

Our new core now mimics the Apple connection, including small indents that click on to the base in the same way as the stock tips. The tips also include the same style mesh as both our original tips and the mesh included with the stock AirPods Pro tips. This mesh is now black for a consistent and sleek look.
In addition to the improved connection to the device, we were able to review our manufacturing processes to ensure that foam is adhered to the core with consistency and strength. To do this, we redesigned the inner core to be slightly longer and more firm than our original core. Our improved manufacturing process also positions the core more consistently, which has resolved issues that caused some users devices to not fit in the charger properly.
