- Runcam thumb pro lens mod (I'll show you how!). Cause I needed to get a wider lens for this camera but all the video's I've seen had to be modified extensively or a naked camera. And those who had the successful mods dont show you what lens they used or dont reply their comments.
Accidentally found that this lens worked, so I hope you guys find this video helpful. If there are any other lenses that might work, please feel free to drop a comment below!

Thanks for dropping in bruh. Yeah, just order the same standard lens if they have it available. Stupid thing is that their lenses are not all the same size.

so far so good on my end. Although in this flight I didnt use gyroflow.
Hi i have a strange question with the thumb pro on recording it split the file into two files. The first file was good and normal but the second file was zoomed in. I was recording on 1080p 120fps with shutter 1/240. Any help would be great
haha no question is strange bruddah. Ok, so here's how it works. The camera records with gyrodata and that is what the 2nd file is for. So the 2nd file is for Iwhen u use gyroflow, it is kinda zoomed in cause it fixes the shakes and oscillations coming from your drone by zooming it in and fixing that shake. Does that make sense to you? Im not sure if Im explaining it properly. Its normal for cameras that supports gyroflow and does not have built in stabilization or hypersmooth.
@@shogunemperor thanks for the reply but this is raw footage straight from the camera i had a 12min flight and the file was split into two 6 min flight files. It suppied the gyrodaya files with it. The second 6 min flight file was zoomed in compared to the first 6 min file. Thanks again mate

YES BRO!!! I know!! I didnt want to have anything printed. So its an easy mod. Hell i can have the whole case printed.. but then it would be whole camera mod you see? Just simple easy mods for those without 3D printers.

Hi, are these moded lenses ir blocked or ir sensitive lenses?
They are usually IR blocked. But some are IR sensitive. So really have to check the specs on the individual lens. But these are IR blocked.
Do you by any chance which Lens this is in their official shop on their website? They have a very disorganised product page for replacement lenses.. ^^

Sorry bruddah, this ones just the PRO cause it has the clip on ND filters. I think u can use the RC18G for the thumb.
@@shogunemperor sweet. i thnk just upgraing the lens to a 1.8 is just a better idea since it gives more information to work with the videos without to much crop.

Anyone know a replacement for the runcam pro wide? it's like an m10 mount? vs this which is m12, you can't find a lot of lenses that will fit it.
OMG im sorry to say there isnt any bruddah. This is the most annoying thing about runcam. They NEVER sell replacement parts and its been years and still nothing. One of the reason i had to use a caddx lens for this mod.
@@shogunemperor I emailed them, they sold me a replacement mobo and lens combo for $70 before.
@@maddercat oh niiiiiiiiiice!!! Lucky u man! Did u try contacting them again? Most of the other lens may not work as it maybe too long
@@shogunemperor it's not a matter of the length, it's the barrel width, they're like 10mm while the first one is 12 which seems to be a common size. I've only found a couple 10mm lenses anywhere and they're like special order.
@@shogunemperor I wonder if it might be possible just to change the mount on it to 12mm. I think the electronics maybe won't allow it, but I guess I could just put it on with glue...I think the hard part might be getting the old one off.
