    Key Doctrine: Salvation
Lifeway’s Leader’s Guide, page 80 says, “Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Savior.”
Acts 17:30-31, “The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”
Ephesians 1:7, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.”
Dr. John Phillips Commentary, page 103 states, “…God’s message to Israel had passed into new hands. No longer was the Sanhedrin custodian of the truth-the apostles were; no longer was the nation of Israel the depository of God’s message to men-the church was. But they could be blessed if only they would obey” [and repent].
    II. Gamaliel’s Rebuttal (vv. 34-39)
III. The Sufferer’s Rejoicing (vv. 40-42)
    A. To rejoice in suffering includes pain (v. 40)
    B. To rejoice in suffering includes pressure (v. 40b)
    C. To rejoice in suffering includes praise (vv. 41)
    D. To rejoice in suffering includes perseverance (v. 42)
Discussion: How do we bring honor to Jesus when facing persecution and opposition?
