Text: Acts 12:6-18
Title: “Praying”
Memory verse: Acts 12:24, “But the word of God increased and multiplied.”
Theme: Believers can thankfully trust God in all circumstances.
I. Because of prayer, he was RESCUED from the DANGER of the PRISON (vv. 6-10)
A. By prayer, Peter was rescued from the danger of the prison DESPITE THE IMPOSSIBILITY
1. Despite the impossibility of hatred (v. 6a)
2. Despite the impossibility of the harnesses. (v. 6b)
B. By prayer, Peter was rescued from the danger of the prison, DISPLAYED IN GOD’S AUTHORITY (vv. 7-10)
1. God’s authority was displayed in the provision of a glorious messenger.
2. God’s authority was displayed in the preservation of His gospel message (the gospel).
3. God’s authority was displayed in the particular guidance of his man (vv. 7-8)
II. Because of prayer, they REJOICED for the DELIVERANCE of his PERSON (vv. 11-14)
A. Peter realized (v. 11)
B. Peter returned (v. 12)
C. Peter recognized (v 13)
III. Because of prayer, they RECOUNTED the DISPLAY of God’s POWER (vv. 15-18)
A. They recounted the display of God’s power despite their faltering faith (vv. 15-16)
B. They recounted the display of God’s power, increasing their faith (vv. 17-18)
