Your personality shines through on these videos as tremendously engaging and enthusiastic.
Great to see the progress on the Porsche.
It's the little jobs that I like about this channel that make a world of difference not the "nut and bolt" which are "exhaustion" to watch! :)
There's nothing wrong with a DIY paint job if it improves on the previous aesthetics. Polishing on pale colours is so rewarding.
Niiiiice Seppo! And what a daily it is - not a lot of people can say “I daily a Porsche” and especially not a classic Porsche!
when painting with yellow, i sometimes used a white paint to cover the darker colors. Yellow covers so poorly :D
3D printing the elbow part of the oil channel is a good idea.
The patina effect looked very nice. But now it is polished I hope the whole cars appears shiny new.
A dark basic paint under a light color is not the way to go. Next time use a tan or a light gray color.
When using the spectrum paint gun point it near the place of painting. Because the color on the hood would be different than the side panels due to UV light and weather erosion...aka you might to need two cans of paint made. But the professional will advice you.
Wow that paints looking so good!
Think you've done an amazing job of refreshing this old Porsche - enjoy!
Oh I walk from one room to another Seppo and get a CLUNK IN MY REAR END TOO 😂, nothing to worry about and if I didn’t have it I would miss it lol 😂. Car looks great , well done for getting through M O T 👍🏻.
Had a red one back in the 80s it was a great fun car I loved it , keep on it 😊
Seppo love that you save these old cars from the scrapyard and do a proper job and you have the patience of a saint!
You saw the diamond in the rough👍🏼 not many people can which is good for folk like us!
My high miler 190e daily has the same clunk from the rear when picking up drive from standstill. It’s wear in the differential, not sure if it’s the pinion or crown? Most likely both. It started at about 265000miles about 5yrs ago, maybe I’ll find a decent diff one day but for now I just change the oil once a year and live with it. Hopefully yours will just be a bushing or mount👍🏼
Looking good.
Great, pleased to see you got your MOT, well done mate.
What a beautiful car! Do the wheels too!! They are such a cool design and would make the whole car pop like a bank vault after a healthy dose of C4. 😇
sweet. all it needs now is a seaside garage decal.
YES!
Thanks very much for the great content and your relaxing and engaging style.
That's looking good. Well done!
The plastic sheet that protects the door card is often called a 'weather curtain' in English...
Epic job Seppo.
Thanks Shaun!
What a transformation in the colour! Great work all round on this Porsche!
TILLYKKE 😉Den bil tror jeg du bliver glad for.
Very nice. The 924 has turned out really well.
Love that car - it looks great!!! Speed yellow was an awesome color for Porsche
Congratulations. It is a totally different car now and what a great colour.
Hi Great Video. I also own a 924 that I am working on. Has a similar sun fade on the hood as well and was wondering what kind of compound and tools did you use for polishing. Thank you!!!!
Looks good, nice to see it back in the road.
Thanks
Thank you! :D
It's just funny that spare parts from a VW van came to the rescue, but as we all know this is a parts-bin special anyway... :P
hehe yea... it feels very right to have a part that LIVED in a LT in the porsche.. :)
Nice work Seppo! I'm very glad to see you installed vapor barriers behind the door panel. That is often neglected.
Inspect the transmission mounts for a source of the "clunk" you describe. If they're ok, check the trailing arm bushings. If that's OK, it very well may be the CV joints worn or loose. You can swap them left to right and frequently eliminate noises as the ball bearings are then wearing on cage and housings that are pristine.
Thanks for the shout out on the oil leak!
Yea its important with that barrier... had a Scirocco mk2 without that and it gave me so much trouble!
You can still buy the plastic elbow for the cam lube new from the suppliers, possibly expensive at 28 euros? I know a few years ago someone in the UK I think part of the 924OC had some made in metal, maybe brass, but I haven't seen them around for a while.
Yea I found them to around 50-60 euroes... not that bad... but its just a little plastic thingy! :P
It looks like you are missing the door pockets? I think I have a pair of early 924 pockets, which are plastic. (Later ones were carpeted). You can have them for the price of postage from the UK, if you want.
Did not even know it had those! but that explains the holes in the plastic!
I would love them! could you write me on Instagram maybe? SeasideGarageYT
😀
elsker gamle biler
I had a car in an unknown shade of metallic blue. I tried having it scanned at 2 paint shops but the result was very poor matching. Solid colours might work better- I don't know.
Yea I haven't had luck before, but I hope the technology has gotten better.. :)
Nissans tend to click if the hub nut isn’t torqued up enough because of a the splines being slightly under spec. This may be what you’re hearing on the road when braking/pulling away? Only a thought 🙂
Could be! I do have some play on the CV on the right side... dont know if thats enough to make the sound, but I think so.. :)
@@SeasideGarage the Nissan ‘click’ fix is molybdenum grease on the splines and to slightly over-torque the hub nut. I hope it turns out to be something simple like this for you - free fixes are my favourites!
Show off! My Porsche... 😂😂 Are those rust spots above the windscreen??? If so, sort them out, please!
Not rust.... black glue used to glue the trim that has fallen off... :P
Hvis du er interesseret i restoration af gamle biler, faldt jeg forleden over en video som du burde se.. har aldrig set noget lignende XD Prøv at søge på "Will it run after 59 years 1953 Plymouth cranbrook"
Can someone please tell me what Opel/Vauxhall had very similar wheels to the ones fitted, I think it was an astra or vectra a/chavalier, but what trim?
The only model that I can think of and I could be wrong about it that crossed over was the Sri model but there are some many types of alloys fitted as standard
Similar to MK3 Cavalier GSi. These Porsche ones are Turbo/Le Mans ATS 15 x 6.
Over forruden , ved gummi , er det 5 - 6 rustpletter ? Temmelige synlige .
Ikke rust.. :) rudelim...
Voks på, voks af😅
Modifications will invalidate insurance.
what mods?
@@SeasideGarage Anything not original or OE equivalent.
@@fungames24 Yes but there is no mods on this?
But rules are also different from country to country.
@@SeasideGarage Oh, then you are OK. I didn't think you could get OE parts for repairs.
The problem is its a Seaside Garage daily driver but it wears a Porsche badge so doesn't sit well.
The you see the interior that is naked and the reaction is "yeah crack on mate" ha ha ha ha
Enjoy this test video of your Porsches haydays.
Tak for dine hyggelige videoer, keep up the good work 🙂
Ha! jeg har gået og kaldt det en 82´er... jeg er ikke så god til tal... men den er indregistreret i slut 83 så det passer nok meget godt med en 84 model... det plejer at være forskudt. :)
Vejen er dæmningen fra fyn til Helnæs :)
Thanks
