For anyone curious about the actual meaning of the instructions:
6. Aim the contact point (for the led power supply) to the power connecter before connect the better.
7. Put the included sponge right above the original sponge on the battery connector, then screw the metal plate( for more stable connections)

Since I've seen another install video I think I actually know what battery sponge sponge means.
They want you to put a little piece of foam on top of the battery connector, so it presses on it and keeps a good connection.
