    I was watching a US bike channel where the vlogger had problems with the GoPro 8 and ended up going back to an older model. I seem to recall reading about other people having issues as well. I still think the Sony FDR X 3000 is the best sports cam out there. Despite it being a few years old now and I've been impressed with a DJI Osmo Action.

    SST and a few words of encouragement from my wingman sorted me out.

      If you're not already, look to joint the "official spine group" on Facebook, an absolute font on knowledge form some very experienced people.
      But getting the nav right will definitely save you a lot of time and faff. Also kit admin, knowing where everything is in your pack/drop bag. Everything you can do to reduce faffing around and therefore stress is a massive bonus..

    • @DeanRead
      @DeanRead  Před 3 lety

      I'm in the group 👍 definitely agree that it's a great place to hoover up some knowledge. I've been toying with what pack to take with me but will get out for some practice trips when I decide. Will look at the kit list again and do a big day with all required stuff with food/water.

    I like that you are using public transport. When we used to visit the Bakewell area, I got the bus schedule booklet and spent many hours thinking about how you would get from point A to point B using public transport. Even the last time we were there staying in Millers Dale, 2018, we took the bus from Millers Dale to Litton and then walked down to Cressbrook and then one day we parked in Tadington and took the bus into Derby to go to the Royal Derby Factor. I looked and you could have taken the bus from Hadfield to Sheffield instead of the train and it says it would be quicker. Is there a reason you are sticking to the trains?

    • @DeanRead
      @DeanRead  Před 3 lety

      Hi Stephen thanks for watching. There are so many options at this stage of the route, perhaps not as we get further north. We chose the train as we live near Dore Totley station and it's a longer walk from Sheffield itself. From memory the bus was sporadic on the Sunday that we did the route too as I'd looked at getting it from Crowden rather than Hadfield.
