  • The Coming of The Holy Spirit at Pentecost reveals some truly amazing things as it connects into a larger story. We will go step by step to connect things using the bible itself explain why things happened at Pentecost. Please continue to like, share and subscribe so that I can continue to share the Connected Word of God.
    This video will become part of a series and in the second video will break down how the story of Pentecost speaks to the Story of Satan himself. Stay tuned to this channel for the second part, The Two Pillars. (Babylon in the Book of Revelation will be revealed)
    The bible is the inerrant Word of God, on this channel we believe that the Bible is the truth. Although it was written by 40 different human authors, there was one common ghost writer and that is The Holy Spirit which inspired all of them. This channel tries to stay away from theology but instead focuses on connecting the bible as a whole book using tools such as typology, parallelisms, and multiple-layered symbolic connections. Yes, God can operate on different levels at the same time, to mean more than one thing at the same time.
    I enjoy deep dives into the study of the bible, and always will cite scripture to back up the conclusions.

    Does this sum it up?
    The lecture delves into the correlation between the Pentecost event in Acts 2, dubbed the "Tower of Pentecost," where the Holy Spirit conferred the capacity to communicate in diverse tongues upon disciples, and its underlying Old Testament references, which total 18 in number. This event, the speaker elucidates, offers a counterpoint to the Tower of Babel narrative in Genesis 11, where human languages were confounded by God to hinder the construction of a heaven-reaching tower.
    The inaugural correlation is their occurrence on a similar timeline, specifically the 50th day following Passover, as discerned from both Leviticus 23 and Exodus 19. Both events featured heavenly sounds; Acts recounts a potent wind, while a vociferous thunder engulfed the scene in Exodus 19. Fire also manifested itself at both events, as tongues of fire in Acts and as lightning in Exodus 19.
    God's presence, heralded by the Holy Spirit during the Pentecost and the cloud during the Exodus, is the fourth similarity. The covenant formed by God-old in the case of Exodus and new during the Pentecost-offers the fifth coincidence. The sixth presents itself via the inscribing of God's laws, enacted on believers' hearts during the Pentecost and carved in stone tablets in Exodus.
    The seventh direct link exists within the tableau of God's people-Israelites in Exodus 19 and a blend of Jews and Gentiles at the Pentecost. Both occurrences glorified God's name, the disciples in the Pentecost and God himself in Exodus 19. The ninth similarity revolves around God's objectives-proliferating the Gospel among all nations during Pentecost and creating a holy nationality of priests out of the Israelites in Exodus.
    The tenth shared facet is the exhibition of God's power, through miracles at Pentecost and divine wonders in Exodus. The grace of God, demonstrated by gifts to believers and those obedient in both narratives. God's judgement, marked by retribution against those who reject the gospel and adore the golden calf in both narratives, forms the twelfth correlation. Thirteenth is God's mercy, evidenced by forgiving repentant sinners and sparing a portion of Israel.
    The glory of God, revealed in the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the tabernacle at Exodus, forms the fourteenth tie, followed by the fifteenth, through God's fulfilled promises-sending the Messiah and the Spirit in Acts, and the Exodus out of Egypt into Canaan. God's plan, initially hidden but exposed in Acts through Christ and in Exodus via Moses, constitutes the sixteenth connection. God's love, portrayed through the ultimate sacrifice in Acts and liberation from slavery in Exodus, marks the seventeenth link. Lastly, the eighteenth correlation, according to the speaker, is the most astonishing one-both narratives involve God's son, expressed through Jesus Christ at Pentecost and represented civicly through Israel in Exodus.

    Question: How do you connect the Pentecost account to what Paul teaches as tongues in I Cor chapters 12/14?

    • @connectingthebible-deeperb5680
      @connectingthebible-deeperb5680  Před 10 měsíci

      Are you referencing 1 Corinthians 14:20-25?
      It sounds like Paul is referencing Pentecost itself. He separates out tongues from prophesying as one for believers and the other for non-believers. Then it says this:
      23 Therefore if the whole church comes together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are uninformed or unbelievers, will they not say that you are out of your mind? 24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. 25 And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.
      But then says if they combine both the tongues and prophecy together, then the secrets of the heart will be revealed and they will worship God. Remember the account of Pentecost did exactly that, first all the Disciples spoke in tongues, but then Peter spoke about the Prophecy using the prophet Joel. This passage of Paul reads exactly what happened at Pentecost.

      @connectingthebible-deeperb5680  Před 10 měsíci

      Yes, you are right, I understand your concern.
      But remember God is outside of time, time is much different for Him. So when He did reside in a temple made by humans in the OT, He knew He wouldn't always reside there. Nor should He reside their either. He always knew there would be a Temple of the Holy Spirit that wasn't made my humans. That is how I reconcile the Bible saying that.

    Up for consideration--
    After the golden calf incident and the levites killed 3 thousand with their swords,
    It would make far more spiritual sense if they were preaching the word of God (the word of God is the sword) and caused 3 thousand to be saved which means 'killing their old man and becoming a new man'
    Which the book of Acts reports on 3 thousand being saved..
    Consider that God SO loved the world that he wants NONE to perish, so much so that he sent his Son to die.
    He also gave a commandment that thou shalt not murder.
    It seems HIGHLY suspicious/ concerning that the Father would want Moses, Aaron, the Levites to pick up real swords and start slaughtering people to punish them. Imagine the scene! It hardly seems loving, merciful, forgiving, meek, humble, putting others before yourself, understanding, loving others with a pure heart.
    It honestly seems like something the adversary would want us to believe the Father called them to do, not something that would even enter into the Father's mind.
    And then at the end of the story Moses says they have been blessed and tells them they have committed a great sin...which seems more reasonable.

    • @connectingthebible-deeperb5680
      @connectingthebible-deeperb5680  Před 11 měsíci +3

      That's a fair point to make. But you have to remember context of what was going on at the time. The Tower of Babel had already happened and that was mankind's open rebellion against God. So God chose a specific people, the Hebrew people to lead to the salvation of the world. They would constantly stray from following God and right after freeing His people in Egypt, the same generation that saw God's power and glory in the 10 plagues, to turn against God and make a golden calf to go before them as God would be something very horrible to God.
      So in that context in makes sense for God to acknowledge the Levites bringing swords against their own people for bringing such shame on them. I don;t think we should bring our New Testament sensibilities to the stories in the Old Testament. This was God, even back then, knowing that He had to get to Jesus Christ 1500 years later and authorizing killing on behalf of salvation. You just have to read the Book of Joshua to see God did authorize killing to save the world. And only God has that authority.
      Although now we do have the New Testament through the beautiful sacrifice of Jesus Christ to follow. That makes all the difference in how we respond. The sword of Jesus is the Word of God and non-violence.
      But in order to get to Jesus God did have to authorize killing. And like I said, only God has that power, the power to give life and to take it if that is His will.
