I have baby fine hair and only thirty locs. But mine are now eight months old and they are doing great even though I haven't had any professional maintenance for five months. I live in NW Montana so it's hard to find locticians. I bet they feel so much better! They look great!!! I just realized this video is two years old. Hope you still have and love them!
Hi, my dreadlocks are hitting their 1 year mark. My maintenance takes about 4-5 hrs! I can't wait till they grow. They just keep shortening. I also just added another row about 3 months ago. I started with partial and keep adding! Thank you for your videos. I like the updates on your dreads.
Congrats on one year! That's so exciting. My maintenance used to take that long as well in the beginning. Hang in there. They will grow fast after they are done shrinking.
Looks good, your loctician must be pretty fast. I've had two sessions since I started 3 months ago.. I do find it painful and tight. I try and separate my hair in between maintenance. Thanks for mentioning the loops also.. I thought it was something i had done with the crochet hook.
Your dreads look awesome! I started mine at home about 5 weeks (inexperienced) and they're a mess to say the least. My wife says I look homeless! However they're just barely starting to do odd things at the root, which is exciting!

Beautiful locks!! I’m thinking about locking mine again. I’ve tried 2 x already. I had a hard time finding a professional anywhere close to me. The longest I went was 8 month with locks but I had a lot of issues with my locks. The main problem was my roots joining together. And the pain that went along with that. I would pull apart after washing . Just wondering if you had a harder time in the beginning of your dread journey or has it been the same threw out? I did make my own because I did not want a super tight maintained look but I think I may need a professional to make mine if I do it again.
Have you locked your hair again? I definitely think the first year-ish was the hardest for me. The shrinkage was real but now at four years, it's much easier since there's less loose hair to grow together. I definitely love my loctician. Couldn't do it without her.
