    Thank you for a clear and easy to understand video. I have a 17 SE and upgrading the trim level to the black package. I wanted to know how to remove this fender trim and your video just explained it to me. Im basically doing a Chrome delete and blacking out some trim sections of the car.

      Of course- yeah this isn't too bad- how is that blackout project coming? Are you doing the headlamp and tail light housings?

    I did a black out on those, it looks waaay cooler.

      Nice! Yeah it does make a difference if that's a preference you have- the chrome really does stand out. Did you black any other parts of your Escape?

    Wow, I really thought popping those off was much more difficult. Good to know for the future, although I already Plasti-dipped mine black :)

      Nice! So did you just mask around it?

    • @zaneparkinson
      @zaneparkinson Před 10 měsíci

      Yeah, I masked a fair amount of each side to prevent overspray and did 3 or 4 coats of the dip. Turned out great. I also did the Escape, SEL, and EcoBoost 4WD emblems on the hatch!@@HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews

    Can the small panel above the fog light housing be easily removed and replaced? To replace fog lights . Might be an easy way rather than taking the whole bumper off, or busting knuckles through the wheel well.

    Would it have been possible to only remove the “arrowhead” portion and leave the inside curved part to match the curve of the older insert? On video they look like they match up, but I don’t know how easy it would have been to just remove the pointed tip and leave the inner curve…
    I too Plasti-dipped my stock 2016 emblem (along with all the chrome window trim), but I like to look of the 2017 and newer part.

    I decided I liked the Sport look(totally black) but didn't want to pay the price for new pieces. I popped mine out and painted them satin black. Mine is a '17 white titanium

    My only question is why?

      Some people like the look of the newer ones. Others like to paint them black if they are "blacking out" their vehicles by tinting the tail lights and headlights...just a personal preference thing really.

    Hey man, do you know if you can replace the 2017 headlights for the 2013 without much of a hassle?

    • @HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews
      @HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews  Před 10 měsíci

      Hey there @sfbeats- even if the headlamp fastener locations lined up, the 2017 contour is different on the outer edges. Many have theorized that you MIGHT be able to make it work but it sounds like a whole front end swap to carry over the front bumper cover, grille, front fenders, and even the hood to go with those new headlamps. If you have a donor vehicle that is handy, perhaps it could be a fun project but it would be a pretty pricy experiment if you were buying parts even just off ebay. Junk yard would be the way to go in my opinion... so ...I would say no it's not a simple swap but it could be possible depending on how far you want to take it perhaps

    Does anyone here know how to remove the interior pillars and headliner (with sunroof)? I’m trying to get the parts painted black but would rather do it myself and can’t find a video on how to

      Hmm so you are looking to paint the headliner?

    • @Aflo2023

      @@HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews possibly just using paint spray for fabric

    • @HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews
      @HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews  Před 10 měsíci

      Interesting- ok. Well I don't know how to remove the headliner at this time, but for the pillars, you can see the overlap and work your way down. If you open the back hatch and pull the weather stripping from the back hatch area, you can then start to pull off the panels from the floor upwards. They should give you good access to remove the upper ones. Just a heads up of course to keep aware of any airbag areas if any- I haven't looked that closely yet. I wish I could give you some more tips here but haven't gotten to that type of removal yet!

    A lot of work for something so trivial that only the owner and a few sharp-eyed Escape owners will notice
