I work more on support muscles and being actually strong/endurance

    • @Soccasteve
      @Soccasteve Před 9 dny +1

      The term “overuse” is a misnomer. You don’t get injured from the simple fact that you do the same exercise over and over.
      What happens with “overuse” is people will do the exact same exercises without balancing it out with other movement which creates weakness/dysfunction and ultimately pain. The way you get around “overuse is to use a variety of movements which strengthen muscles around a joint in every range. This is not the same as simply doing the same movements over and over.

    • @Soccasteve
      @Soccasteve Před 9 dny

      If your bicep tendon is hurting and you didn’t have an acute injury, then you most likely have a dysfunction around the elbow. A lot of time shortening your ROM leads to these sorts of issues or going too heavy for too long. I’m guessing if you upped the reps, controlled the weight, and pushed a lot of blood through your tendon it would heal. That and also strengthening the extensors of the forearm since those are often neglected

    Dorian was a machine guy. Training strictly his style requires a gym with a leg press, hack squat,leg extension machines,leg curl and seated one leg curl station. Hammer strength chest press,,cable crossover , tricep pushdown, Nautilus biceps machine,Smith machine, Nautilus pullover, cable row , nautilus pulldown , nautilus rear delt machine. Very very few gyms have all these,maybe none..
    Only the incline bench was a staple free weight mass building move for him.
    Alos he had access to the highest grade pharmaceuticals at the time un the UK,the best quality gear even by today's standards. Extremely expensive stuff.
    Legal for private use back then.

    When you do the same exercise over and over your body gets more efficient at it
    You recruit fewer and fewer fibers as your body has fine tuned the movement
    Those are neuromuscular adaptations that occur with any repetitive movement
    You may notice you make gains in that 1st few weeks- but you haven’t gotten stronger- simply more efficient- true strength gains take about 4-6 wks before they’re significantly measurable
    I’m not saying you have to change up your routine- but new movements will absolutely recruit more muscle fibers and groups until you refine the movement
    The problem w changing up your routine every month is that you’ve only just gotten to the strength gains- now you’re going onto something else
    So I’d say changing up your workout isn’t bad- but you certainly don’t need to do so with this kind of frequency

      You don't have to change a movement to maintain muscle fibre recruitment, that's the whole point progressive overload and deloads. Unless you're talking about synergistic muscle recruitment in different muscle groups, but that is not for hypertrophy training, that's more for sports specific training.

      @@davidkymdell452 again- you will recruit fewer and fewer muscle fibers as you repeat the movement
      Most weight training is ‘synergistic’
      A bench press is synergistic, so is a squat
      Even with an ‘isolated’ tricep ext you’re engaging the rear delts, teres minor rhomboids and mid traps
      That’s a ‘synergistic’ movement
      Nearly every functional movement is synergistic
      And you can unequivocally gain muscle mass with any synergistic movement
      what’s the point of a bench press or squat if not hypertrophy?

    most pros find out quite early what gives them the best results and they stick with it....yeah in time you can change an exercise or 2, or change the order of the exercises, or the day...

    I always think the same way. Básic compound movements. Like Arnold use to say. If not broken why fix it?

    He is right in the context of not going with the trends.
    However, I hope he isn't one of those ignorant guys who exclude the health factor.
    By adding exercises that target muscles around a joint, you can improve mobility and prevent injuries.
    Im addition, this can improve strength in other exercises.

    Actuall both ways work.Im NOT a bodybuilder,but a powerlifter.
    In powerlifting,There’s Conjugate training and Linear progressive overload.
    People have been Breaking records with both.
    Instead of changing an exercise,how about adding 5lbs to the LIFT and GETTING THE REPS?!!!!

    If what worked before suddenly stops working, it's because you stopped trying as hard. Progressive overload. Increasing weight, sets, reps, or TUT.
