    Dorian was a machine guy. Training strictly his style requires a gym with a leg press, hack squat,leg extension machines,leg curl and seated one leg curl station. Hammer strength chest press,,cable crossover , tricep pushdown, Nautilus biceps machine,Smith machine, Nautilus pullover, cable row , nautilus pulldown , nautilus rear delt machine. Very very few gyms have all these,maybe none..
    Only the incline bench was a staple free weight mass building move for him.
    Alos he had access to the highest grade pharmaceuticals at the time un the UK,the best quality gear even by today's standards. Extremely expensive stuff.
    Legal for private use back then.
    Thays why one cannot train like Dorian. No gym has the equipment he used and the high grade gear isnt obtainable in most countries.

I work more on support muscles and being actually strong/endurance

    • @Soccasteve
      @Soccasteve Před 7 dny +1

      The term “overuse” is a misnomer. You don’t get injured from the simple fact that you do the same exercise over and over.
      What happens with “overuse” is people will do the exact same exercises without balancing it out with other movement which creates weakness/dysfunction and ultimately pain. The way you get around “overuse is to use a variety of movements which strengthen muscles around a joint in every range. This is not the same as simply doing the same movements over and over.

    • @Soccasteve
      @Soccasteve Před 7 dny

      If your bicep tendon is hurting and you didn’t have an acute injury, then you most likely have a dysfunction around the elbow. A lot of time shortening your ROM leads to these sorts of issues or going too heavy for too long. I’m guessing if you upped the reps, controlled the weight, and pushed a lot of blood through your tendon it would heal. That and also strengthening the extensors of the forearm since those are often neglected

  • @bry8636
    @bry8636 Před 3 dny

    When you do the same exercise over and over your body gets more efficient at it
    You recruit fewer and fewer fibers as your body has fine tuned the movement
    Those are neuromuscular adaptations that occur with any repetitive movement
    You may notice you make gains in that 1st few weeks- but you haven’t gotten stronger- simply more efficient- true strength gains take about 4-6 wks before they’re significantly measurable
    I’m not saying you have to change up your routine- but new movements will absolutely recruit more muscle fibers and groups until you refine the movement
    The problem w changing up your routine every month is that you’ve only just gotten to the strength gains- now you’re going onto something else
    So I’d say changing up your workout isn’t bad- but you certainly don’t need to do so with this kind of frequency

    • @davidkymdell452
      @davidkymdell452 Před dnem

      You don't have to change a movement to maintain muscle fibre recruitment, that's the whole point progressive overload and deloads. Unless you're talking about synergistic muscle recruitment in different muscle groups, but that is not for hypertrophy training, that's more for sports specific training.

    • @bry8636
      @bry8636 Před 17 hodinami

      @@davidkymdell452 again- you will recruit fewer and fewer muscle fibers as you repeat the movement
      Most weight training is ‘synergistic’
      A bench press is synergistic, so is a squat
      Even with an ‘isolated’ tricep ext you’re engaging the rear delts, teres minor rhomboids and mid traps
      That’s a ‘synergistic’ movement
      Nearly every functional movement is synergistic
      And you can unequivocally gain muscle mass with any synergistic movement
      what’s the point of a bench press or squat if not hypertrophy?

    Yknow... For years I did strength and size training. For me, that got boring. Recently switched up to functional training, circuits etc. and man... Never have I worked so intensely, enjoyed training so much, and become so damn fit. I absolutely love what I'm doing now and I'm punishing my body, suffering, and pushing myself further than I ever knew I could. I've lost about 8kg of mass, I'm not "small" by any means, and I feel AMAZING. Now I think back to it, why be big? What is the point? Literally WHAT IS THE POINT?

      I have not been able to train your years due to illness, but when i go back I want to do what your doing, when you say you feel "amazing" am wishing I could feeling like that, when you feel terrible 247, you think of having a healthy slim functional body. what you are doing is best for health and wellness, to do boxing etc..,more healthy on your organs as you dont need tons of food. whats your routine and diet like if you dont mind?

      No offense to Mr. Wenning but like most people, he doesn’t understand what “overuse” is which is actually a misnomer.
      Overuse is not going to set in just because you do the same exercises over and over. The true cause of these “overuse” injuries is just imbalance. This occurs either due to poor technique/control, not executing movements using a full range, or neglecting movements of a joint which leads to weakness.
      Sure, there is a higher chance of developing one of these injuries if you do the same exercises over and over but that’s only if you’re also doing the three things listed above.
      Everyone has an opinion, but not everyone’s opinion is correct amd not all advice will apply to all individuals and situations. That’s why you will always hear conflicting information. That’s why it’s important to develop critical thinking skills so you can figure out for yourself what advice is applicable to you. Or, you could hire an experienced professional to guide you and think for you.

      Yes, but everyone knows Mentzer, and I have to agree with him on this point.
      I am also a fan of Yates philosophies even more, which are deeply based upon Mentzer and Jones' ideas. If you want to discuss versus insult, I would be happy to, but you are guilty of what you accuse me of. You: just because Yates said it, it is gospel. Me: weigh the opinions of two experts and apply. Coach the athlete not use a blanket application of a system. So, what Yates says of NEVER changing exercises is flawed.

    Exactly same exercises for everyone just not the usual regular exercises rather rightful rigorous head to toe exercises that too for real growth not monstrous growth that importantly take agility and hardly attained stamina outta anyone doing regular gym exercises.. Build your body with brainer mentality not the gainer mentality. N yeah exactly like Dorian says changing routines after four or six weeks is bullshit as the first phase of body development is shock phase then and afterwards forever it's only maintaining with exercises and rest days more than before it's as the bodybuilding champ said if you started excusing just after four six weeks of workout you are outta your mind and probably will quit soon.. The rule is before you think you gotta develop your frame by yourself just research physical development programmes how it works and how it's attained, may be that may clear your doubts it's not easy as you think after the birth of a newborn it's only painfully hard but lasting if ya do it right, if ya fancy it with huge gains you are already outta development game of body.
    Best of luck everyone.
