TRYING to grow Bermuda after losing FOUR huge trees due to Hurricane Ida. I went from a fully shaded back yard to a fully sun-bathed back yard. Planted Bermuda seed from Lowe's and struggling to keep it healthy and free of weeds (thanks to the sand that a contractor used to level my lawn, which apparently was FULL of weed seeds). Nice. Similar to our Zoysia lawn when I lived in my childhood house. I planted Zoysia plugs this year. Just can't buy runners. Our neighbor back in the sixties gave us his runners from his lawn and it choked out the old fashion ivy back in the day. You remind me of him, dedicated hard working man. Brings back fond memories. Nice video.
I actually done this and it works.👍🏾👍🏾 I also took my bagged clippings and spread them on my bare spots and grew grass in them bare spots as well, be aware that those clippings does turn brown over time but grass will cover them up overtime. Great post BYD👍🏾

Can i take the whole roots and all im extending a flower bed into the grass area in the front yard that has great grass but a huge dead spot in the back was going to pull roots and all and replant in the back yard
I did this a couple weeks ago; it didn't go too good b/c about 3days after I transplanted, a heatwave set in & I couldn't keep the sprigs moist. Forecast is calling for rain 5 of the next 8 days. So I did transplants again this evening. I messed around & added a few prills of Flagship, sand, and organic matter to the holes. I watered it in really good... I may have messed up by adding that Flagship 🤦♂️ You live & you learn. Thanks BYD!! 👍😎👍

I have the zoyzia coming back strong but the centipede I'm struggling with. I have to level the front lawn and luckily my county has a dirt and compost site about a mile from my house. They have a NuSoil that has a screened dirt/sand/top soil/biosolid mix I'm going to being in
I have a question. So I just got Bermuda installed in my backyard about 2 weeks ago. So far we’ve just been watering the sod in. I’m noticing weeds growing in with the roots. Is this normal? Is there anything I should be applying now or just wait until the roots are fully grown?
I’m not a fan of treating new sod with a herbicide because it could harm the new grass. I personally would wait until the 3rd cut to treat for weeds. If you bought that sod at a sod store I’d ask them for suggestions.

There’s no real way to stop 🛑 that. Other than buying a dog 🐶 . Maybe mention to the owner 🤷🏾♂️. The sell pet away or something like that but when I read the reviews they are never good.
This was very helpful. Always wondered how should I fix the bald spots in the yard. I've seen some neighbors just fertilize their grass. One of my neighbors is very passionate about his grass. But one time his grass looked fake😄 I don't know what he did. The grass had different shades of green in it. Looked very tacky. Few days later, I saw him spray painting the grass. I guess he did it so all the grass color could blend in with each other. But at the end of the day his grass looked tacky as hell. Your approach is very legit. I’m in Georgia and I treated while the grass was still dormant but I have a ton of this wide blade grass. I don’t know how To attach the pic. Any experience with this?

BYI, how can I get rid of Thistles grass. It is a bunchy type grass with a beady top.
A basic 2-4D should work like Spectracide 470 weed kill for lawns but I’d google that question to narrow it down.

What would humic do?
It’s a soil conditioner. Helps the soil take in more nutrients. But it’s not a fertilizer.

Cut it first. I’d wait 3-4 weeks before I mow that spot also.👍🏾
