    I'm already a fan of James' adorable personality and silly sense of humor from many other videos (I think "Not now, Chantilly!" is my fave) and now we find out he sings too?! All this in addition to serious color skills. Are there any more talents you're hiding from us, James?

    James, love learning from you. I bought a Park Moble mobile home to retire in. Small but nice windows and high ceiling. I want to paint the "mobile home" type walls. I hate them. Wish you would do a video on paint choices when painting smaller living areas and walls being some sort of vinyl. What sheen, color choices and what will stick.
    Love you.❤

    An element that would be nice to include is the type of flooring colour some wall colours would go well with. This is generally a fixed element in most homes and what compliments dark flooring or a light oak wood floor would be quite helpful. Maybe a video on that subject or just throwing an example when talking about each colour could really help people move into the right direction for overall cohesive colour choices. Really enjoying the content and just putting it out there as an idea.

      Just painted my kitchen walls with natural linen but very confused about picking cabinet colors. West facing. Off white just feels too boring but the greens are tricky. I say tricky because the back splash is off white tiles with a few green tiles here and there. Thinking of matching the green tiles but I want to change the backsplash eventually. Eventually is the operative word here. Don't want whatever color I choose to clash with the tile. The tiles look very close to Benjamin Moore Bunker Hill. Not quite as sophisticated as I would like

    James, I love your videos and I appreciate how you take your time to answer. I am looking for a creamy color so I tried shoji white paint and bought a paper color sample of creamy SW 7012 but both look too white and bright. My kitchen cabinets are Greek villa( looks too white for me) and my furniture and decorations are warmer tones. Do you think that white duck or natural choice could a choice. Your opinion is important to me. Thank you.

      @thepaintpeople  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi! Those choices might read too white for you also if you think Shoji White is too bright. I know it's hard to tell on those small samples where you can see the undertones of the color more but on the wall it'll still read basically white. Have you looked at something like Accessible Beige??

    Love your informative yet entertaining videos! I am moving into a new house where the primary bedroom is long with a vaulted ceiling and a single north-facing window (I live in Canada, btw). I want to paint all the walls and ceilings in the same colour and was considering both natural linen and muslin. I've used both in the past but in rooms with south-facing windows. I'm worried about any green or peach undertones which I had before. Would the colours behave differently in the north light? Can you suggest a Benjamin Moore neutral beige colour without the undertone issues in a northern light? Thanks SO much! :)

    • @thepaintpeople
      @thepaintpeople  Před 2 lety +1

      Hmm. North facing windows give off cooler light, so going warmer will help counterbalance that, so you could look for something with a hint of yellow like White Chocolate, but your best bet is to test a couple out and see what feels right.

    James please help. I have a room that leads off my living room that is painted Benjamin Moore Affinity color Flora. I am looking for a nice bege or neutral color that will pair. Suggestions please. I am getting dizzy looking at colors. The floors in the living room are wood and have a bit of a golden hue. Wish they were a more modern natural wood, but it is what I have to work with right now. The living room also gets a lot early morning light, then darker as the day gets long if that helps at all. ;)

    Great video! Thank you! We used BM Natural Linen throughout most of our home. It looks great in the primary bedroom and the living/dining area. It actually looks different on the different walls in the living/dining area (which is a 700 sq ft L-shaped area) - it looks more gray on some walls in the living/dining area and more tan on other walls. But, it looks TERRIBLE in the guest room and guest bedroom. It looks too GREEN in these rooms! I really don't know why the Natural Linen looks green in the guest bed/bath but not the rest of the house and am bummed this happened in these rooms. Any thoughts on what we can do to "tone down" the green? Or are we just stuck with it unless we re-paint those rooms? If we re-paint, any suggestions on which color to use? I'm scared of the French Canvas since this video said that color can also look green. We tested the Natural Linen - but apparently did not test well enough to see the green in the guest rooms. I appreciate your video and any additional feedback!

      Sorry to hear that Lil Red, that could be the light and/or undertones? Not sure what you can do in that case, but if it's the lighting thats contributing then I'd consider a lighter warmer color like BM Barely Beige?

    HELPP, unrelated to natural linen but!!! I painted my cabinets with BM creamy white and it’s BEAUTIFUL. Butttt I painted the walls cloud white and they look to similar and clash way to much to where the cloud white looks very yellow and dingy. I’m thinking I need a brighter white to contrast?
