      These are exactly the characteristics I’m looking for. I am considering purchasing a west facing home with a little over 1000sqft. It has a bit higher ceilings. Nonetheless, I want a just slightly warm, welcoming and light color to open the space.

    Hi there. Painted my entire ten year old condo from "Trauma by Taupe" to Natural Linen. The floors are quite orangey maple and this colour really toned things down and looks stunning when the sunlight pours in. Ahead of painting out the very small U-shaped kitchen Maple cabinets, I experimented with the bathroom and used SW Antler Velvet. It looks amazing with renewed matte black accessories BUT would look awful in the kitchen even though it is the same granite countertops. Was thinking SW Portico might be the answer. Have you reviewed this one??

    How am I just seeing this video! I am so torn right now between Wool Skein and Natural Linen. Our whole house has plenty of natural and artificial lighting ranging in the 4500K range. We painted a wall with Wool Skein and we love it! It is by far the absolute best color we have tried out of the last 8 colors. I would highly recommend doing a solo review on it. It is however slightly to dark, just by a tad. I was gonna ask SW if they could lighten it by 25% (or just do it myself by weight in a 5 gallon bucket)... But I think I will try Natural Linen first to see if it is the perfect match. I'm just worried Natural Linen may bring up those pink undertones even though we have ZERO red and pink in the house. We shall see, thanks Kylie!

    Please do a comparison of SW Taupe of the Morning. I am right in the middle of picking paint color for new house build. I found out that Taupe of the Morning is only available in their designer line ($95/gal YIKES). So I'm trying to find a comparison. Found BM natural cream, natural tan, natural linen, muslin, etc. I definitely don't want builder beige and I do want a warm house but not yellow. Have a lot of Eastern light. We have quite a few antique doors that will take center stage, therefore I am painting casing the same color as the wall, just with a sheen so it will appear a little lighter. Also thinking of painting all baseboards Revere Pewter. Would love to see how you think the colors work together and which one is best to accomplish the warmth in Eastern light without going yellow.

    Kylie, I really need help determining the color to paint my walls in my open concept home. I am wondering if you can help. I just moved in this house and I am not sure what color the cabinets are. They are a medium cream. They almost look like SW Irish Cream 7537. The granite counter tops have a lot of black and cream with a rust veining. Comparable to Giallo Napoli granite. The trim and windows in my house is cherry. Floors are Canadian maple with a slight red undertone.

    I love all of your videos but I am swooning with choices and don’t know what to do now. I began “knowing I was going to paint the whole (east/south facing townhouse (with only windows on the front side) white to make it feel open and airy. 1200 square feet isn’t big. The kitchen adjoins the open concept living room is gleaming white. Shiny (ikea-like) cabinets, white counters and a grey dominant wood floor). I would love some idea direction to make this space comfortable but not dark and closed in and helps to pull warmth from that cold floor). I like fresh and clean and colour in the decor.
    I really like how atrium white looks in there and understand it can help offset the cool toned floor. Which I would do in the entrance up the stairs to the living area and then I was considering edgecomb gray for the kitchen and stairs/upper hall to the bedrooms to add some dimension and warmth. Wondering if Linen beige would be better? I haven’t slept in nights as I spend them combing paint theory and ideas. Time to choose and I feel more confused than ever. Pah-lease help me ground myself with solid options. :)

I originally wanted Accessible Beige or BM Edgecomb Gray but i thought i might need more beige than those 2. So I hent to SW the other day and they suggested Natural Linen. I painted a sample using a quart of flat natural linen from lowes. For my final finish I chose eggshell. However the eggshell is a shade lighter than the flat version. Im not talking about reflection but the color is truly lighter in eggshell. Is this expected or did lowes mess up?

    • @KylieMInteriorsPaint
      @KylieMInteriorsPaint  Před 2 lety

      Well, it could be a few things. #1 - Lowes could have messed up, definitely. #2 - when the sheen shifts sometimes the paint 'recipe' shifts, especially if you change LINES of paint at all. This can result in a shift (and drives me crazy when this happens). Have you compared both to the original chip to see which one is the RIGHT one? If the eggshell is a bit lighter, they should be able to fix it and if not, I would HOPE they'd make you a new gallon in the right colour :)

      The current trim is very similar to chantilly lace and I'm finding this slightly too stark in contrast. Which other color(s) would you suggest?

    I have a large sample board of natural linen. I soooo wanted to like it. It's pink in my room. Is that due to the yellow beige carpet and honey oak trim??

      Hi Jo, YES, it could look more pink 'in comparison' to a yellow beige and honey oak :). Sounds like you need a colour that leans less on orange-pink and grabs a bit more cream :)

      What color would you recommend that meets that criteria? I’m in the same boat! Thanks!

      @@celiahagan9727 Me, too. I love natural linen, but I almost have to talk myself out of seeing the pink.

    After looking at your videos and your blogs, I think I have decided to move away from Canvas Tan and to chose Natural Linen (maybe darkened 25%? Since we have east-facing light). We have orange undertoned wood and from what you have shared with us, it seems that Canvas Tan might clash a bit with this wood. Does that sound like an correct assessment?

    Would you pick this with halle navy cabinets or canvas tan or natural tan for northfacing?

    Hello! We live in a new build, and didn't pick any of the colors. We have Natural linen floor trim and all the interior doors are that as well. They painted the walls Antler Velvet (which I don't love). I'm wanting to not paint all the doors and trim, so want something to compliment the Natural Linen. I'd like to lighten the downstairs, so maybe a white or a really light grey? Any recommendations? Thank you!

      If you haven’t already selected a color, I recommend doing the walls in Natural Linen flat and leave the semigloss Natural Linen. The contrast would be lovely.

    How would Greek Villa or Westhighland white go with Natural Linen?

    • @KylieMInteriorsPaint
      @KylieMInteriorsPaint  Před 3 lety +1

      Nope, they're both too yellow, although Greek Villa is BETTER. I'd lean into SW Pure White :).

    Kylie, architectural paints don’t have “undertones”. If you’re going to review colors, you need to learn about the other color data values (hue, value, and chroma), not just LRV.

    If you have pure white trim and natural linen walls, what color cabinets?

    • @KylieMInteriorsPaint
      @KylieMInteriorsPaint  Před 2 lety

      Oooo, if you're thinking white cabinets, I'd be looking right at Pure White, rather than mixing and matching whites :)
