I was at the match, right behind the goal for Barnes' free kick. Some people were booing even before he took the free kick and didn't know what to do after it went in! Strange experience, Wouters should have been sent off, the Des Walker penalty at the end. Not good memories leaving Wembley that night. That was the beginning of the end for 1994 World Cup qualification.

Van Hanegem, Keizer, Rep, Van Basten, Gullit, Rijkaard, Koeman, Bergkamp, Seedorf, Van der Sar, Kluivert, Davids, Van Nistelrooij, Stam, Sneijder, Robben, Van Persie, Van der Vaart, Van Dijk, De Jong....all of them world class

Still got beat though and still ended up with ten men! You’ve listed quite a few players there as world class who played in that final…and their performances proved themselves not to be. I’m glad you didn’t list any left backs as England had Ray Wilson, who was a genuinely world class one; you’ve had Bouma, Bogarde and Numan. Rafael Van der Vaart? More like Rafael canned a fart.
