- Sky News host Rita Panahi reacts to a “self-indulgent narcissist” losing it at restaurant waitstaff after being misgendered.
Lilly Contino posted several TikToks where she took offence to waitstaff misgendering her and calling her “sir”.
Ms Panahi said the woman is an example of people who simultaneously play the victim but “are really the bullies themselves”.
“Of course, our faux Karen there has to run to management like a good cry bully and complain that their feelings were hurt,” Ms Panahi said.
“Let's hope nobody lost their job in any of those cases.”

I was a secondary school teacher for 26 years. Last year I called a 15 year old girl "HER" once, only once. They opened up an investigation, I hired a lawyer, since this wasn't a judicial case but a disciplinary action within the school board I was found guilty. Unbeknownst to me was the fact that they (the school board) could find me guilty despite the evidence I presented. My lawyer knew this all along but only told me a month before I received the decision so that during the 7 month duration of the case he could continue to charge me. I'm 56 years old and I left teaching because I refuse to disregard objective reality. We NEED TO UNITE, TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THEIR LIVES DESTROYED BECAUSE SOMEONE FEELS OFFENDED.

As an Asian male, I had quite delicate, almost feminine facial features when I was younger. I also preferred to keep my hair at medium length. There were times when service worker would mistake me for a woman and address me as 'ma'am'. I always took it in stride and found it amusing rather than offensive, because I had a firm sense of my own masculinity and didn't need external affirmation of my gender identity.
You see, as transgender person I can agree with this. If I get misgendered it does not matter to me because I know who I am. However, the individual in this video has made it a clear point, so, it is quite disrespectful.

I've had a double mastectomy due to breast cancer, and chose not to "reconstruct" due to the advanced stage of the cancer. I was recently called "them," by an "well meaning" lgbt person. Technically there is. As a woman, I have had people call me "sir" before on accident. When I wear my hair down, it softens my face and there is no mistaking what I am, but when I pull it back, my features are strong, not softly pretty, so at a glance, I am not traditionally feminine through the face. So I have had people more than once just call me "sir" at a glance when I simply throw my hair up instead of taking the time to wear it down. Of course, I am not so personally affronted by things that I make a big deal out of it. Mistakes get made, and I know I'm not a glamor queen.
I will never lower myself to the point of buying into their stupid fantasy.
