      Oh shut up. Such undermining here. Watch behind the scenes and you know how hard it is for them to create the sets, the planets, all the visuals, the amazing sounds of the sequels. Sequel story might not be that great, but the visuals and sounds completely destroy the OT and PT by far, and destroy most hollywood creations in history by a longshot

    • @rotor13
      @rotor13 Před 4 lety +35

      @@leho_123 FYI - most of the sets aren't created in full detail. They only create the sets that are actually being interacted with and the rest is done by CGI. Had Disney spent more time and money getting the correct writers and directors and not worrying about pandering to specific groups of people, the quality of Episode 8 and 9 could have surpassed the decent work that JJ Abrams did with Episode 7. Especially considering the rumors of different scripts that seem to have likely been far better than what Rian Johnson did with Episode 8 and the fact that it left JJ with his hands tied with Ep. 9 - it would have been a far better product than the "video game quest" feel that TROS left many feeling.
      I've seen better fanfic for an alternate 7-9 series, a couple of them having such highlighted fights that are more intensely choreographed such as SC38 Reimagined. One even went into depth of how Snoke came to be other than being a few simple lines of being a "creation" of Palpatine's to be his conduit/puppet and it didn't take but 2 short paragraphs.
      Hard work does need to be appreciated, of course, that called a "given". It goes without saying. However you're undermining the fact that there is definitely something "wrong" with the Disney movies that the majority of fans acknowledge. They're not necessarily BAD movies, but they're not great movies either. At the least, they're a decent popcorn movie... and thats it. And that speaks for the writing of the movie. They don't really let people leave the theatre wanting to see it again. Just "meh".

      Because neither of them can be as acrobatic now; Obi-Wan is old, and Vader's armor weight added to his own is more trouble than it's worth.
      Instead, they rely on fast strikes that, despite not being added to dangerous flips towards the enemy's exposed backside, still are powerful and scary. You can feel the prequels' fighting style there, even while the two combatants are as worn and held back as they can be.

      @jaeeproductions Před rokem +3

      @@Justinian43: That scene is a brilliant professional audition. LucasFilm hired a young man for doing a deep fake of Luke Skywalker that was better than their own. As such, these young men who re-envisioned the Vader V. Obi-Wan duel...deserve that same consideration...as they delivered...the very best "Star Wars" duel since "Empire Strike Back". Truthfully, it even bests Vader V. Luke.
      Why is it important to replace the original scene as it is? Given the scope of the Star Wars movies since, and the advancements in special effects, which have led to the visually expanded displays of Jedi fighting powers onscreen--the original duel between Vader and Obi-Wan...makes both look lesser than--especially Obi-Wan. He appears like a weak old man that Vader is toying with.
      New fans/first-time viewers are confused by the duel being so tame...as compared with those in the prequels, and immediately complain about it post-viewing. All of the original Star Wars films received special effects upgrades for various scenes...but this one was not upgraded. In retrospect, it was not needed at the time...as the prequels hadn't been made yet.
      Further, I'd suggest upgrading the duel in "Return of the Jedi"...and Luke's escape from Jabba the Hut. They added to the Sarlacc pit--but not the combat sequence? I'd like to see a cooler and extended face-off between Luke and Boba Fett, etc.

      I saw Star Wars as a kid when it was first released. Don't worry: Darth Vader was utterly terrifying. I knew kids that had to cover their eyes when he came on screen. Those were way more innocent times and nothing like Darth Vader had ever been seen.
      Also: the lightsaber duel was extremely effective. The limits of the technology meant that lightsabers ended up looking far more dangerous - like they had to be handled with extreme care or you'd cut yourself in half with one rather than your opponent. Hence very conservative parries and thrusts. - and no acrobatics or grandstanding.
      Unlike today, where lightsabers are twirled and thrown around like harmless batons in a marching band.
