Disappointing honestly. They had Henry abducted, Ryan running around doing everything to save Henry, and we don't even get to see what's going on in the ship.

I get that whacking them with the bat might make it too easy but given that they get right up in your face to grab you it annoys me a lot that you can't just start beating them.
Also a rural town like this would have way more guns and way more ammo. Even in a blue state. Even in Canada. Hell, if this happened in the UK I would be genuinely shocked if a third of the houses didn't mysteriously materialize (read: dig up some lock boxes) a bunch of shotguns and rifles.

They nailed the atmosphere of the game, but damn, the aliens are like 5 feet tall and aggressively shake you when you run into them. They should at least have a ray gun or some shit, otherwise your average country boy would dog walk them.

The atmosphere of the game is amazing. Probably the closest thing that Signs will get to an actual video game adaption. All that's missing is a video of an alien at a kid's birthday party.

The ending could use a lot more fixing, though. I know that some games try and be artistic and clever with open-ended...endings...but this one really needed a conclusion to Ryan's story.

Knowing Bob is one of the survivors and retelling the events of what happened, they're all his interpretations of what he thought happened or what was said, based on what Ryan told him was happening, is actually a really interesting way to have a game play out.

It’s been a great week for horror games first a new amnesia and now more from the grey hill incident, all we are missing is some phasmo with icy and skilly!

The only changes happening right now are tools and a revamp of leveling and rewards.
2024 should have new horror stuff, new models, hallucinations, etc. Not to mention some kind of new maps by then.

Did not expect IGP to mention Dark Skies of all things. Really underated alien movie with a really unique soundtrack
I feel like IGP brings up Signs anytime he can. I recently went back to rewatch some Debris and Bermuda, and I believe in both he speaks of the film. XD

@@IGP very fair I remember watching it when I was decently young with my father and it absolutely terrified me. Maybe now that I am an adult I should rewatch it to truly appreciate the film.
Working Theory: Throughout the game we hear that this is not the first time something like this has happened. We are also told the government will just cover it up. Keep in mind also that the only time we hear "proof" of life regarding Henry is a weird electronic "Dad" over Amy's radio, right before the comical exchange with Brandon. This is also the ONLY time we hear outgoing communication addressed to anyone from one on the ships. Also, remember we hear the dog get offed in the beginning, but then at the end we hear it come back while searching for Rachael in the cornfield. BUT, we never see the dog at that point (IGP even makes a comment on the idea that they are mimicking sounds to trick you). This would mean the "d.a.a.a.a.d" line is either Henry's last word's OR the Aliens trying to mimic Henry (who is now in a different condition, see below) in an attempt to lure Ryan in. Also, there is no sign of any experimentation on Rachael when she is found in the barn. Even though dialogue makes it seem like she was falling victim as well. She was never actually taken up into the ship.
At the end Bob says "After Ryan was abducted his dog Max Came along". In the beginning we see something has happened to bob's cat but otherwise looks unharmed. Per the players ending Ryan is either in complete darkness on the ship getting no response from his son, or dead. But again shortly after Ryan is taken up his dog shows back up. We also see some cows are alive but others are skinned and their bodies left in the field. When Max runs away the "neck snap" sound IGP points out has other cracking/popping and even wet sounds going on as well. Almost like something being skinned. At the end both dog and cat seem normal (No glowing stuff, at least not anymore). What if the dog isn't actually Max anymore but Henry (Meaning the cat is also another person). Meaning the reason Ryan can't see anything when he wakes up is because his brain has yet to be put into a new body and Ryan is merely shouting in his own head, not realising that he is nothing more than a suspended brain waiting to be transplanted into a new host.
Again, working theory.

The movie "Dark Skies" really freaked me out with the way they portrayed the aliens
That movie horrified me more than most other horror movies.
That’s a really underrated horror movie. The way the score picks up in the scene where *spoiler alert* the dad checks the cameras and sees them clearly for the first time… just thinking about that part makes my eyes water.
I hope they make a sequel, it can’t just end there.

I bought this game I can't wait to play it. I have already watched playthrough of this game 3 times. It's what made me buy it. Oddly watching playthroughs doesn't ruin games I am interested in surprisingly.

it's a, as they call it, a _trope_ (you've got at least two alien movies that I know of, where aliens are defeated by water, so, yeah, that)... thwarted by tin foil, or defeated by humans in general (humans wouldn't stood a chance)... and tinfoil is aluminium, not lead, lol

I loved the playthrough IGP. I liked the tone they went with. It made it seem more like how small town people would react. It's an absurd situation with absurd acting people with a very heavy reality thrown at them. I thought it delivered it perfectly, and you picked up on it so well.

One of my favorite alien movies is Fire in the Sky, it’s based off of Travis Walton’s story, one of the most famous ufo abduction stories, and I won’t spoil it but it horrified me the first time I watched it. Would love to see someone make a game based off that

Honestly, I don't mind that ending. Leaves it open for a possible sequel but most of all.. it isn't a everyone is happy fairytale ending that you see in all the movies and games out there.

10 minutes in and this game is pissing me off. I hate it when characters are written to do dumb shit. "Hey, there was JUST an invader in the house so lets leave my teenage son home alone while I go find a crazy guy." When characters don't respond rationally to a situation it really takes me out of any immersion.
The aliens are small enough to punt. This game falls way short, but I still watch the video.

I wonder if the devs got inspiration from an old found footage movie called: Alien Abduction Incident in Lake County. The aliens seem very similar as well as the setting.
The grays have always been the way they were. It’s literally the creatures from the crash back way back when. People just have to “make them look different” or can be sued for copying ideas.
I liked the game, i just wish there was more of it, but i encountered a dumb bug near the end that if you enter the corn field with not enough bullets then you are essentially stuck there cuz the bat cant kill em and you need him dead to progress and even if i die i start at the gas station and i cannot go back to Brandons house to get more bullets so i am locked out from beating the game. They need to fix that by putting 2 bullets near the gas station. Otherwise i loved it and i wanna see Joel play this game next.

It definitely went full campiness.
Ryan (appropriately) takes things seriously, but the rest felt closer to Mars Attacks! than War of the Worlds.
I would have preferred even a bit more "what happened on the spaceship", but I worry the camp and seriousness would have had to clash at that point.. so it might be best that was left out.
Still, it has this odd feeling of "end of chapter one", despite Bob's tone of finality in his full monologue (he talks more after Indie stops it).
With such a short gameplay and a sudden unfinished ending, this game is obviously a cash grab, hoping people will purchase the next $35 chapter after this chapter. What a let down.
This game feels like all my shieldhood nightmares about aliens coming to life... I loved it! xD
