- I finally get around to doing a full honest no b.s. review of the GPX FSE300r. In a nutshell, it's a dang good dirt bike that costs half as much as a KTM. In my opinion this is a perfect 4 stroke dirt bike that is a blast to ride without sacrificing handling and has a modern frame with all the goodies included. Buy it!

I had my TSE assembled by my local dealer . With that I got a 6 month warranty and parts at dealer cost. A great bike , good to have a dealer backing it up !😎
That's good to hear! I didn't mind putting it together, but on the other hand it would have been nice to have it all setup and go too!
@johnny im just starting to look at these bikes. Was the warranty something offered specifically by your dealer or is this a perk from GPX?
I just bought a 300R because of your videos. Can’t wait to get it!! Keep up the great work!
Oh gosh, lot of pressure here! You'll love it man, thanks for the kind words!
@@LCARSADV 👍
Thanks for the video. Keep it up! I really want one
Thanks man!
Man, awesome video! I watch your vids pretty religiously. Your channel, plus some others are what led to get a GPX this year. Just picked up a barely used 19 FSE250R in great shape and loving it so far. You always provide excellent info and tips on these, but I gotta say my favorite parts are 80’s references. Keep it up!
Yeah man I rode Chad Hunter's 250 out in Utah, that is what convinced me to buy a 300! I appreciate the kind words! You should just get the big bore kit, it's pretty cheap!
Nice video. You're quite the ambassador and helping GPX get the reputation it deserves.
Just doing it for the tee shirt man lol. Thanks!
@@LCARSADV what dealer do you use for these bikes in NY?
@@HenryKrinkleAK I know Bonjoes in grand island sells them, but I personally deal directly with GPX in Utah as I have purchased both my bikes and all my parts from them
I love the interspersed clips!
Man I miss you guys! I hope you are doing well buddy!
Just subbed, these bikes look promising. Just bought a suzuki DR 200s, my second enduro but I didnt even know these bikes were an option. Keep the vids coming.
Thanks man! I appreciate it!
As a 70's and 80's kid I love the video references, star trek, Indy, very well done, love it!
Thanks! I always try to slip that stuff in lol
Class vid sir keep.up the good work
Thanks!
Great vid as always, I'm just waiting for the Rally/Adventure 450
Thanks! Yeah I wonder when that is coming out? There were supposed to be some prototypes back in January but I don't think that ever materialized.
@@LCARSADV most likely in the fall I think. 😬
Man! You are half the reason GPX is sold out of all their bikes! Great review
Thanks man! I just want a free GPX tee shirt lol
Great video!
Thanks man!
great vid
Thanks man!
I wish I would have bought the FSE300 instead of my SSR300. I bought my son the GPX250E and I'm jealous of it. :-) I also got the XJR 110 for my 9-year-old. The guys at GPX are so nice and helpful. I cannot say the same for SSR... Next year I will get FSE.
I went through 2 Honda crf250l’s to learn my lesson so don’t feel so bad lol! That 250e seems like a sweet bike and I wouldn’t mind having one myself!
I just bought a 2021 300r used with some great upgrades for less than half it's original MSRP. I got a lot of bike for the money.
Yeah man, it's a lot of bike for they money and keeps up with everything else including the reliability IMO
GPX are built in Thailand actually, it’s a Thai brand using a Zongshen engine
No they aren’t, Gary from GPX visits the factories in China
I'm stuck between one of these, a tse250 or a klx300r... Also dig your content man
Thanks man! For dirt riding and single track? TSE all the way! I guess you have to decide whether you want a 2 stroke or a 4stroke?
@@LCARSADV Mostly single track but I want to dual sport any bike.
@@stoplogicmotorsports the tse makes a pretty good dual sport as its engine is pretty smooth, just around town though
@@LCARSADV yeah I like the option of a 200 ish mile stint from time to time
@@stoplogicmotorsports then a 4 stroke is in your future...
Have you weighed the TSE and FSE? GPX site says they're pretty similar and i the wondering what the true real world weight is. I currently ride a XR250R and haven't been on a 2 stroke in many many years and I'm thinking a TSE might be the right way to get back into it.
I haven’t weighed them personally, but the tse feels like a mountain bike compared to the fse! The fse rides well and is a great bike, but there is no question the tse feels dramatically lighter! I would personally go with the 2 stroke if you already have an XR, the tse is just a great bike!
Really nice video and review, can you tell me who sells them or a dealer that does
I know in my area Bonjoes in grand island Carry’s them, but I ordered all 3 of mine straight from GPX
How are the service maintenance intervals on the TSE and FSE? I’m looking into both but I wanna know how often you’ll need to be doing a top end on the 2 stroke and how often the oil changes are
The tse has a dt230 engine in it which was a 2 stroke dual sport meant to be reliable and long service intervals. I don’t know the exact number of hours it needs a piston or rings, but some guys have 100’s of hours on them. It’s not really a rebuild all the time engine and the same goes for the fse.
@@LCARSADV I appreciate the reply. That’s exactly what I needed to know. And I can look up that engine to get all the specific details so thank you
In short , which one you like more this one or the tse250r ?
I know this is a stupid answer, but I like them both for different reasons. Both have different characters. The TSE is more fun though...but the FSE is a tank!
@@LCARSADV Which has more usable power?
@@LCARSADV yeah dude , not the answer I wanted to hear lol 😂
@@paulshover2847 The fse has 4 stroke lugging in any gear but the tse has 2 stroke power band. I guess the fse....
Contemplating the 2022 or 2023 FSE300R... anyone have suggestions on which? The '22 is about $700 cheaper right now
No difference. The 22's have the new Twin Cam engine which is even better than the one I had. Great bike! Saving money is good!
@@LCARSADV thanks!
What are the maintenance intervals like on that thing?
I wanna say like 2500 miles for oil changes but I change it often because it’s cheap and if you ride it hard like I do it makes sense. These engines are designed to be long maintenance intervals and bulletproof
If you could only have one, would it be your fse300 or tse250 for Texas single track?
The simple answer is...buy both! lol. Well since Texas doesn't have a lot of hills, maybe the TSE for single track?
@@LCARSADV Not sure if you've been to Texas, but there are LOTS of hills, just depends on where you are in Texas. The Texas Hill County is absolutely nothing but constant hills, big hills. And a great off-road park there too, called Central Texas Off Road. 3500 acres of well-maintained, various difficulty single track loops. And some huge, almost impossible hill climbs, very rocky in places, and heavily wooded. And large areas of East Texas also have areas of nothing but big hills, and Barnwell Mountain OHV park. Again, huge hills, great single track, and nothing but pine forest there. Even with all that, I much prefer to go to New Mexico, Colorado, or Utah to ride.
@@trevorjameson3213 I would have ever guessed that! That’s pretty cool!
What's the top speed? I can't find qny info on this and I really want to get one but need to know it's top end limit and what I can safly hold it at
70 ish, but it's geared low for off road so it's rpm's are pinned so you would have to change the gearing for sustained road riding
@@LCARSADV so safe to assume the 450 is around 90
I would love to get one, just one problem it costs more than the new Honda’s that just came out
Which Honda and what type of riding? These are enduro bikes and Honda doesn’t have an equivalent. Cost is a consideration for sure, but they are apples and oranges
What new Honda's that just came out?
How does the FSE stack up against the KLX 300?
I haven’t ridden one so I wouldn’t know, but I can guarantee the KLX is more road orientated being a dual sport and the fse is an enduro bike through and through that can be dual sported. Different bikes, different purposes, so it’s not apples to apples.
Iv been looking at the fse250e because up in Canada the 250e is 5000$ n the 250r are 7000$ but do u guys think I should save for one of the r instead
Which models again? I’m confused which one your asking about. Glad you guys can get them now
@@LCARSADV I've always wanted a 2 stoke but the longevity N long maintenance periods of the 4 strokes make me want to get a 4 stroke instead and the 250e being 2000$ cheaper makes ne lean toward it instead of the 250r so pretty much which do u think of the full size models are best bang for buck
The 250e is going to be the best bang for your buck. The tse250r is going to be the best off road and fun bike of the bunch. Btw the tse250r two stroke engine was originally a dual sport engine designed for the long haul, no rebuilding.
@@LCARSADV do you know how long/ far the tse 250r engine is supposed to last can't find it anywere
@@alexhoward1717 search up Yamaha dt250. They last forever. As I said, it was designed as a dual sport engine for long maintenance intervals. You won’t even have to think about rebuilding
Is there a knock off rekluse for this yet?
All I know is they do offer an actual rekluse for it, not sure about a knock off.
hey anyone in your circle have gpx450fse? I wanted to connect with them
Unfortunately not. I’ve seen one guy at the events I go to, but I don’t remember his name.
So now that this has been a couple years how is the bike?
I sold it to buy the 250e version, but I still talk to the guy I sold it to and he loves it. I have a bike addiction problem lol.
@@LCARSADVoh wow that's ironic going back in power, size, and to a carb. I bet it's lighter though. I imagine the 300 has quite a bit more power being water cooled and bigger.
@@timbrandt7211 I wanted to try an air cooled bike like the Honda XR's. yes it is lighter and more nimble. I wish I could have them all!
What gps unit is that
Garmin gpsmap64st
The one guy who dislikedislike this video probably rides a KTM or Husky and it upsets him. 🤣
Ha ha yeah they are pretty thin skinned sometimes lol
So I've been debating between the FSE300R and TSE250R for awhile.
Would you say the FSE is more like a WR250R? I love my WR, but it's more dirt bike than dual-sport. It's nowhere near powerful enough in stock form to properly dual-sport.
I've ridden a wr before and the 300 is much better on the dirt than it, but the wr's road manners are going to be better than the 300 for sure. The 300 is a dirt machine and not really a good dual sport. If you are looking to dual sport, the 450 would be a much better choice, as 250's and 300's really lack the displacement to make a good one.
@@LCARSADV Oh no, I'm looking for a nice dirtbike. I miss having a dedicated woods bike.
Then the fse is a perfect fit!
i hope gpx makes a sm model of the 450 and then the drz will be trully dead.
I think Gary has SM kits, I would give him a buzz
I'm pretty sure they are in the process of developing one but they do sell supermoto wheelsets
How much was the bike
They were cheaper when I bought it, but with everything else these days the price went up, I think they are like 6k now? Check out tue GPX website
And who works on them ?
I do. It's a dirt bike. I don't know many or if any people who ride dirt bikes that don't do their own maintenance and fixes as it comes with the territory of owning a dirt bike. But I guess if I had to, I would take it to a mechanic as it's just an engine like any other. And obviously GPX dealers work on them.
@@LCARSADV if they computerized my chainsaw I could no longer fix it either, I've wrenched all my life I don't have a diagnostic tool for my computerized fuel injection dirtbike
@@ExploringCabinsandMines it’s a Delphi FI controller so there’s plenty of bikes out there with the same FI. It’s not some no name Chinese brand if that’s what you were asking
Music too loud, can’t hear you talk
this is more of a commercial than a review.
Thanks I think?
Is this a paid review?
Lol I wish! No I do these videos as a journal and to help others because I was in the same spot looking at these bikes with not much to go on. But that would be nice to be paid lol!
@@LCARSADV good to know 👍 Thanks for you work you put into this.
