  • Channa Pardalis is a beautiful fish but it is delicate and especially difficult for those living in warmer weather climates due to its cool water requirements and several other different care needs compared to other Channa. Not for beginners!

      Yes, they have very shy behaviour and definitely not for inexperienced keepers. Saw your videos, I think I know you from the Channa Headquarters FB group already😁

      @ChannaScaping  Před 2 lety +1

      Treatment is with antibiotics, only about 60% success rate using Kanaplex/Maracyn medication

    Hay pal These look pretty cool. What temp do you think is best range ?
    Also how many different channa tanks do you have man

      @ChannaScaping  Před 2 lety

      If you are in the UK, keeping them at your room temp throughout the seasons I feel would be ideal. I'm probably 2C below ideal for them at the moment (would like 15-16c but im sitting at 18c).
      For display tanks I have 4 X 3fters and 4 x 2 fters. Then I have a quarantine area with a few 1ft cubes where i keep newer fish and med/observe them. Will be getting some big tanks soon and then im at maximum capacity, thats it, no more ha

    Hi mate the Barca look really nice I still got my 3 auranti they getting big one is literally double the size of the other 2 had a bit of aggression from the big one but settled down and all 3 seem to be ok at thinking about getting a Barca read that they can get 3-4 feet that’s made what size tank you think you need for 1 of them and do you think they would really grown 4 food in a tank ?

    • @ChannaScaping
      @ChannaScaping  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey great to hear the Auranti are doing well. in a group one will always get bigger than the others and thats the one you have to watch out for for aggression so just keep a watch out as you are already doing. For Barca, I saw one last weekend which was about 2.5ft, owner had it for 5 years and said it doesnt really seem to be growing much anymore. He was keeping it in a custom 10ft setup so for most keepers thats probably the upper sort of limit as to whats possible. After keeping 4 Barcas now I can definitely say at the young stages that growth is a solid full inch per month. My 8 incher from April is now 13 inches, my 4 incher from June is now 6 inches etc so you can plan for their needs around that growth rate.

      @@ChannaScapinggood stuff cheers mate 10 foot I wish to have that size tank one day maybe in new house if wife lets me 🙄 electricity in England is so crazy I have to slow down as have 8 tanks trying to go more towards not needing a heater I am keeping the auranti at 28 at the moment but gonna start bringing it down what would you recommend to bring down to was thinking about 18 maybe or do you think that’s to low ?

      @thomasraymail Před 2 lety

      Sorry just read your old message you think as low as 15 ?

    • @ChannaScaping
      @ChannaScaping  Před rokem +1

      @@thomasraymail Sorry, have not seen these messages, since you are in the UK, the best thing to do is to try and follow room temperature (without heating). Dropping down to 15 is definitely OK and have heard others dropping it down to below 10c as well with no problems. This of course depends where your tanks are. If they are in a garage or something, you can control the temp easier probably.

    I'm planning to buy

    • @ChannaScaping
      @ChannaScaping  Před 2 lety +2

      Recommended is 18-23C, above that and it starts developing problems and usually dies. This is feedback I have got from many owners not just myself.

      @@ChannaScaping and what about fungus disease in channa fish?? And how you treat them ??

    • @ChannaScaping
      @ChannaScaping  Před 2 lety

      @@samundvlog47 the fungus is very difficult to treat but the most effective is antibiotics like kanaplex or maracyn. Is caused by a low immune system and stress from high temps or transport and is usually quite lethal.
