Need a Hand let's make one :) Now you can call it a third hand? Stupid idea, it has taken a long time but i think the result looks awesome :)
Yes simple ones are builds in less than 5 minutes and maybe there are more efficient ones. But i wanted this!
Had lots of fun to build it and it turns better out as i thought. A real piece of art.

I have a small metal working workshop, Lathe/mill, pedestal grinders, bandsaw, universal belt grinder, Tig and arc welding machine and all the additional tools required for precision work. My talents as an engine fitter and turner by trade are up with the best of them but you have just blown me away. Outstanding skills the likes of which I have never seen before. I must be honest, that was a lot of time and effort for such a basic tool, but I guess you owned your work. Outstanding.
Coolest thing ever! I’ll make one but I make things all day long at work and the last thing I want to do when I get home is make anything besides dinner

That's awesome.... You should make a hand that can pinch between the thumb and index finger and/or middle finger, that would be a cool work holder, or a couple small hands that would hold tools.

I like that you constantly reference your actual hand during the process. That's something sculptors and other classical artists do (..rather than making a blueprint or 3D mockup, and having done a ton of measurements and calculations beforehand)
I'd say this qualifies more as functional art. :)
If you don't know him, check out the YT channel of Uri Tuchman.
He makes classical tools (chisels, centerpoints, even a lathe) - a lot of them also have weird twists (like a saw with a 'handshake' grip. And a finger tapping mechanism).
His sculpture parts are mostly done in wood, but there's some similar ideas between the 2 of you :)
