- In 2016 I auctioned off my tiny house in San Diego to raise funds to help provide housing for people experiencing homelessness. I’ve been collaborating with Amikas, Chris Scott from Treecycling and Meridian Baptist Church in El Cajon, California to see this vision through. After six years of hard work, six sleeping cabins are nearly complete to provide housing for mothers experiencing homeless. In this video we share an update and give a tour.
Amikas is a 501(c)(3) organization working so every woman and child in San Diego has a safe place to live. Learn more and follow the progress of the community:

That's amazing Rob ! I am putting up a homeless woman with her dog once a week in my appartement and it feels good to be able to provide a night of security for her and her dog. We need more people helping out others that are in the street.
I couldn't stop smiling during the whole video. It has filled my heart with hope. Thanks, Rob 😊
Yes - very important to have a place (no matter how big or small) that's private and secure. Spot on guys!
Wonderful, San Diego needs more places like this. Good job! To all involved in this project 👏 👏 👏
God bless you and your team Rob, for doing more than lawmakers in CA will ever do for the unhoused besides punish and reprimand them
Wow Rob this is incredible! You are inspiring so many people, thank you for your work. We all need to learn from you, all it takes is one person to make a difference and when a small group of people come together they can amplify that impact to change so many lives!

This is so beautiful! ❤
Thank u so much for this....
Great my family such a wonderful world all equal.Great
This is awsome
I love that the church is using their own land to support this. I can't tell you the number of times I have seen churches sitting on a golf course of open grassy fields and not using any of that land to help people that need food and shelter in their community. They already benefit greatly from the tax laws I this country. Helping give people a home and a garden can help give them the support and time they need to get them opportunities to find new work that will eventually give them a fresh start.
Great video as always Rob!
By people, you mean everyone except adult men. Almost all homeless people are adult men. When these two things are true, you know people are wicked.
Peace. Plans to do a similar project in North Carolina in effect 👍
Wonderful!! Let me know if you have any questions- I am the Lisa in the video.
@@Iamchoopy Hi Lisa. Thank you. I just bought my land! I’m now taking care of all the legalities necessary to start the project. I’ll keep you posted.
❤❤❤❤
Incredible
Beautiful ♥️
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Thank you. 😇
Wow!!!!
Love it
How did they get Permits from the city to build these?
Projects like this are almost never allowed, unfortunately.
We worked with the city and they rewrote the ordinances to allow these structures.
Go with 6×12 porch.
This is wonderful!!!!
(Could you leave out that annoying music next time though? Please!)
Amen
Awesome, Robin, you continue to amaze!
Please come in Indonesia, and make comunity here for plant own food
Almost all homeless people are men. Single fathers exist as well. I had a single father growing up, and we couldn't afford a house for a few years. Making something specifically for women, making it gendered like that, and not at least replicating the same for men, is the literal definition of sexism. This is disgusting. People, you need to care.
John Hancock, instead of criticizing what he's doing, why don't you do what you suggested.
They definitely should not say people if they do not mean people. They mean all people, except for adult men. To put that into perspective, let's say they meant all people, except for black people. It's appalling that Greenfield labels himself a Humanitarian. Obviously, he doesn't subscribe to those principals.
John Hancock, maybe you need to get some counseling to find out why you are so angry at people who are trying to help others. What have you done for the homeless lately.
