I saw this movie last night at 10pm with a theater full of people. We were the first in our region to watch it. I had goosebumps well throughout the entire movie. Just seeing the "The Hobbit" fade in at 48 frames in 3D after 4 long years of waiting brought tears to my eyes. Thanks Peter for taking on directing duty for The Hobbit. I could not imagine another director creating Middle Earth as well as you do.

seeing this pictures in 2014 and feeling the atmosphere let me cry and smile in one moment, because the music and the wunderfull actors and all these happy people out there make me feel home; home in Middleearth.
As a fan of the books I felt that PJ did such an AMAZING job with the first part of The Hobbit...Seriously in awe of this man!

There is no movie that has ever been made that has the same power,majesty and sheer overwhelming beauty as LOTR. The story,the performances,the score and the stunning visuals. PERFECTION. And now through the equally amazing hobbit movies you take us into that world we love so much a second time. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Why the hell am I crying after seeing this?!
There is so much love and effort put in these movies and to see this huge family of appreciation of this piece of art is simply heart breaking! Take any time you guys need for the 'the desolation of Smaug'!
This movie was simply spectacular! I was shocked to find it was actually over 2 1/2 hrs. long: it felt like it ran about an hour an a half because it was it was so compelling...it's a movie you'll want to see multiple times because it's just so much fun....go see it today! Kudos to Peter Jackson and his amazing cast and crew....they really did themselves proud!
I just saw the movie today.
It is so amazing how they have been able to capture the spirit of the book, but also make a few twists here and there like they did in LOTR, and tie it together so beautifully with Lord of the Rings.
The humor too was íncredible.
The 48FPS drew such a perfect line between a normal movie and real life footage. I have never been so immersed in a film before.

Only these productions can bring tears to my eyes. And feeling a overdose of bliss while watching the movie itself.

It's hard for me to tell you how much joy these films (LoTR & The Hobbit) have brought to me. From the movies to the actors, to the production Diaries, to the film extra's to the Concept Art ( my personal favorite love John and Alan) , to the the weta workshop, pre-vis, sound engineers, voice couches , crew, stuntman, New Zealand.. it's all just a wonderful story and by far the Lord of the Rings are my favorite films of all time. Peter you are amazing. I can only hope you take on more fantasy content as my dream would be able to see The Wheel of Time brought to the big screen.

Peter, I know you probably won't see this, but I'd like to thank you so much for doing these vlogs. Thank you so much for creating this movie and allowing us to go to Middle Earth once again. This movie was beyond my expectations, and my jaw was literally dropped the first 10 minutes of the movie. I will most certainly be seeing it again and again until Desolation Of Smaug is released. Thank you doesn't even begin to express my feelings. God bless you, sir.
What a spectacular film. Peter Jackson is even responding to people on CZcams. There is nothing more heartwarming than a brilliant director who actually connects with his or her fans.

To Peter, Philippa, Fran, the entire cast and crew, every person that made this movie and the return to Middle-Earth possible, thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. I was able to see the movie in HFR at midnight, and it was absolutely stunningly beautiful. The entire theatre cheered when it began, countless times during, and again when it ended. Everyone loved it. We all can't wait until Desolation of Smaug, and know it will be just as fantastic. Thank you.
I adored seeing the 3 LOTR in theaters, but I was crying the whole Hobbit movie. it was so great. This is my childhood. This is way better than I ever imagined.
I didn't dress as a Dwarf, or an Elf or even an Hobbit. I didn't wait in line for hours or day. I didn't buy any merchandise or t-shirt or hat! The only thing I did was read and love the book and then buy the ticket. Thank you Peter for the most awesome and inspirational experience in cinema I've ever had! Always nice to go back to Middle Earth and visit old friends! Great movie... and I cannot wait for the sequels!
I want to let you know Mr. Jackson, I spent my time in the theater crying because it was such a wonderful film.
Simply amazing, this is a movie for the ages. The best visual effects, sets, acting, camerawork and directing I have seen in a movie since The Lord of the Rings.

I can't believe I ended up crying. The Hobbit is my favourite book EVER and see all the heart and soul you and everybody poured into the movie just made me very emotional. Thanks for everything ♥ Greetings from Chile, the country that almost made it hahaha.

I've waited for this film for 8 years and personally it was completely worth the wait! I loved it SOO much, such a lovely film!
The only thing that bothers me about all the films, including LOTR, is that I feel Ian Holm isn´t getting enough credit, if any. He is hardly in any making of scenes and I have not found a single interview on youtube with him about either trilogy. He´s being left out, makes me really sad. As if he was no member of the cast at all, they all seem to forget about him. He was sooo good, such a sweet older Bilbo.
To be fair there are virtually no interviews of him fullstop. There is one 90 sec video of him talking about Hamlet and that is pretty much it, I guess he shuns the limelight and values his privacy.
Sadly this amazing man is no longer with us but what joy he gave to so many people 😢
This series of movies will shine for many decades. I think beyond the durability of the most durable of all, The Wizard of Oz. I can't wait to see it again for probably the fifth time. WoW.

I saw the film yesterday, and it was wonderful. The visuals were stunning, the acting was brilliant, the score was amazing and i just loved it.

Every time i hear that shire/hobbit theme music, i break down. Honestly, that music is so beautiful, i get transported to rolling green hills of the hobbiton, the white walls of Minas Tirith, the magical forest of Mirkwood as soon as i hear one note. Then i realise i cant go to middle earth 😭. Great job Howard Shore on the amazing music and great job to the cast and Peter Jackson that made the LOTR/The Hobbit movies unforgettable! Those movies have changed so many lives and inspired so many imaginations!!!
