Tusk had very little appeal to me back when I first played this game. But he grew on me, and by the end of my time playing this game, he was definitely one of my favourites.

Again these are top secret Glitches , non of these vids showing how to do either over 100 or 200 hits is on CZcams . i know how both of these are done and they both work on the Killer Instinct 2 arcade board , no mame cheats no hack roms 100% real
1:13 I never knew that "Turiyaaahh!!" sound clip was originally from Killer Instinct 2. Because Rare also used this sound clip in Conker's Bad Fur Day and I used to play that game to sh*t back in the day. You'd usually hear the sound in the multiplayer when you grabbed a katana and just spam the 'B' button over and over.

No, for the air ultra iirc you need to put them in a juggle state then buffer the ultra quick. So say you do the opener, auto, linker,auto, then linker again they should fall, that’s when you buffer ultra
I remember how you can change the speed on the Ultras .. first the higher the combo ender you reach meant that you’d extend your hits on the ultra .. and if you want to speed up the ultra all you had to do is hold the action button instead of pushing it .. example Jago ultra is half circle back and low kick .. so if you wanted to speed it up you’d hold low kick and then half circle back and release low kick and if you wanted to slow them down you had to half circle back 2 times and then low kick .. so the half circle moves were half circle 2 times Jago .. or instead of doing Back Forward moves you had to add an additional Back at the end and it would slow down the ultra too Saberwulf for example is Back Forward low kick .. to speed it up .. hold low kick then Back Forward and release low kick .. and to slow it down it was Back Forward BACK low kick .. add and extra BACK to the end of the motion.

'Hiding cool things behind ugly effects' would later go on to have a newfound career in KoF13, where everything just looked like out of place Clipart. 😅
Anyone remember the shadow ultra where you had a shadow behind you the whole ultra, or the manual ultra where it slowed each hit of the ultra down, straight taunting your opponent
I think the reason the Ultras were kind of repetitive in this one is that it started out with four hits of that repetitive section and then added another four as you did enders during the round to go up to 20 hits total so rather than add in new sections of hits they just copy pasted the one section over and over again I guess. At least if memory serves. Probably been a good 15 years since I played ki2 or gold for that matter.
34 (33 if you're Orchid) hits maximum. 14 hits to start plus 4 hits for every new regular ender you do in the match after the first (including the 5-hit ender unlocked after doing the first four) plus 4 (3 for Orchid) hits if you tack on the super ender (super enders are 5/4 hits but they replace the usual last hit).
If you do the ultra motion x 2 they would do the ultra slowly. Holding the button then doing the motion for the ultra does it fast. Also you had to watch if they had meter, as they could ultra combo break. I played the hell out of KI2 and KI Gold on N64 with my 2 brothers, so had to get good. Kinda nerdy on this game 😅 So many little touches to this game. Think i preferred KI2 gameplay to KI1. Both are great
pretty neat to see since I have never played or even seen this KI before that being said the first KI just has better ultras even if these are still fun to watch

I don't know why, but the whole time Fulgore was on screen, especially during his victory screen, all i could think was "Damn.. fulgore looks cool" We should definitely get a KI as Mortal Kombat DLC at some point. Not sure who they'd pick, Fulgore seems like an obvious choice, not sure if he'd be too similar looking to the Cyborgs.
Anyone else want Max to rate the supers of games he wouldn’t normally play, just to see him have to play? Me personally I’d like to see a rate the super on arcana heart 3. Mainly because there’s over 70 big special moves (2 level 3s for each character (1 normal and 1 enhanced) and 1 for each arcana in the form of the arcana blazes)

He’s done it a couple of times before for games he couldn’t get that into like Blazblue and Melty blood so I don’t see games like Arcana Heart being that different.

Fun Fact: if you double input enders (like Ryu's super fireball for example) you can activate SLO MO enders! These enders are absolutely badass AND you cannot Combo Break them!!
I was watching the original streaming of this and I'm quite shocked that Max doesn't know about stuff in this game been a KI fan. For instance the auto assist of LP-HP-MP, in fact, the system is to lower each attack and back to heavies like HP-MK-LP-HK you can mix them as you want. Other thing here is that you can juggle special moves in the air like the assistant explained or moves that can counter other moves like Jago's spinning sword can be used to counter Jago's special flying kick to start a combo
This just shows why the 2013 game is so much better, because it's not just juggling the dude on a single tatsu for 5 straight seconds for every character. I'd even take the OG brutalities from UMK3 over a bunch of the Ultras in this game because while they all end the same, those brutals at least use a bunch of different moves.
Ultras are repetitive as well in the original, they just repeat more in this new one. Honestly it didn't take me very long to kinda grow tired of the ultras because of this. It's a cool concept, but for most part it's just repeated regular combat animations. Even the ultra finishers often are still just a regular special move.
Super enders can do more to Ultras than extend them tho. They can BREAK them. But only if they're done against the first four hits. Yes, it's as dumb as it sounds.
Can't wait for rate the supers in 6 years time where the new Killer Instinct roster includes Tracer, Captain Price, and Spyro the Dragon.

It's not the only KI sound reference in Conker either. Try getting the idle animation where he pulls out a Game Boy sometime and listen to the sound.
