Spiderman has super villians that have no use for guns but whatever super power they have and almost no henchmen. Animators use whatever tools are most appropriate to their show to get around the censors. I do have to disagree that the Spider-Man villains wouldn't have use for guns, though. I can think of a couple of times where they'd have won if they just up & shot him. The Hobgoblin tried, & that's why he's my favorite. Mysterio & Kingpin are essentially normal humans outside of having illusions & being really muscular, respectively. And there are apparently laser blasters on the Goblin Gliders.

I always loved how even with the censorship this show had to work around, they were still able to make it clear he wouldn't hesitate to kill you, turn your death into profit and go to your memorial service to raise his public image. While they couldn't be graphic or vulgar, they still managed to make this man something that one should fear.
Kingpin is arguably one of the greatest villains ever devised. He's powerful without superpowers, runs all of New York's crimes, and he was even a three dimensional character in this series. Namely when his wife was concerned.
Have the Kingpin eliminated, and you get what's happening in the PS4 game: a hole in the criminal element in which potential crimelords, organizations, thugs, gangs, cutthroats, kleptomanics, etc. will wrestle for power.

Nope. As much love and nostalgia as I have for Spider-Man TAS, one of its fatal flaws is making Kingpin overpowered. Spider-Man already had a diverse rogue gallery of much better villains when Kingpin was first introduced in 1967. But by 1994? C'mon! The Kingpin was just not an effective Spider-Man villain. I guess as a behind of scenes kind of guy, maybe. But as a hands on villain? By 1994, Kingpin couldn't even hold Tombstone, Hobgoblin, Venom, and Carnage's jockstraps. As a Daredevil villain, he's still a great villain. But as a Spider-Man villain? There was a time and place for that and it was the late 60s/early 70s.
The Kingpin of the comic books was superhuman. In fights with Spider-Man fifty years ago, he knocked off car doors, punched holes through concrete walls and fractured concrete floors with his bare fists. He took full impact punches and kicks from Spider-Man without being knocked unconscious; generally, they would just piss him off.

There is an obvious explanation as to how he broke out of his shackles and that it that each set of shackles were designed to hold specific characters. Fisk's shackles were probably made for an average human as he doesn't have any super powers so the red skulls son thought that shackles for an average human would hold him but Fisk is far from average(which the general public is not aware of as Fisk hides how strong he is and simply lets people think he is just fat) (tactics). Thumbs up to the writers of this show for doing kingpin justice.
That just sounds like an excuse for bad writing. Nothing like that is hinted at, and all the shackles are drawn the same. Why leave it ambiguous? Plus, if you can make shackles strong enough to hold the rest of them, what's the benefit of downgrading for someone who's presumably weaker?

roscoe lee brown (kingpin in animated series), Michael Clark Duncan (Daredevil movie) Vincent D'Onofrio (Daredevil netflix series) were great kingpins, each one played the part for the project they were in perfectly and brought different aspects and different takes on the character.
Kingpin being almost as strong as Spider Man was controversial in the comics. Then there is the Spider-verse and this Animated series, where he's STRONGER.

After stating "Now i will not hold back... at all" after that beating easily grab out of Kingpin.
This along with Batman TAS were my favorite cartoon series. Roscoe Lee Browne did an amazing job voicing the Kingpin, R.I.P. He was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy for his work.

He hasn't worn it many times since Venom entered the picture. The instance I was referring to happened after Civil War, when Aunt May was shot by the Kingpin's men. Peter donned the black cloth suit to get across how pissed he was, and he proceeded to utterly DESTROY Kingpin in a fight.

The fact that Kingpin, a man without superpowers, is strong enough to cause Spider-Man problems is something we don't talk about enough.
He's really only a danger if he grabs Spider-Man in a way that limits his mobility. Otherwise, it's dodge and counter until the fat man goes kaboom.

Thank you. Thank you for making this. This series alone demonstrates how menacing and intimidating the Kingpin is supposed to be. Most of all, I love how in this series he isn't publicly revealed as a crime lord until close to the series finale....which also demonstrates his criminal stealth.
Nope. As much love and nostalgia as I have for Spider-Man TAS, one of its fatal flaws is making Kingpin overpowered. Spider-Man already had a diverse rogue gallery of much better villains when Kingpin was first introduced in 1967. But by 1994? C'mon! The Kingpin was just not an effective Spider-Man villain. I guess as a behind of scenes kind of guy, maybe. But as a hands on villain? By 1994, Kingpin couldn't even hold Tombstone, Hobgoblin, Venom, and Carnage's jockstraps. As a Daredevil villain, he's still a great villain. But as a Spider-Man villain? There was a time and place for that and it was the late 60s/early 70s.

Except we see KP tank punches from those not holding back that blew through steel like wet paper. Not saying Spidey doesn't hold back still, but not as much with those like Doc Ock.

"Spider-Man" (1994) is one of my favorite shows of all time.
There is an obvious explanation as to how he broke out of his shackles and that it that each set of shackles were designed to hold specific characters. Fisk's shackles were probably made for an average human as he doesn't have any super powers so the red skulls son thought that shackles for an average human would hold him but Fisk is far from average(which the general public is not aware of as Fisk hides how strong he is and simply lets people think he is just fat) (tactics). Thumbs up to the writers of this show for doing kingpin justice.
That just sounds like an excuse for bad writing. Nothing like that is hinted at, and all the shackles are drawn the same. Why leave it ambiguous?
Plus, if you can make shackles strong enough to hold the rest of them, what's the benefit of downgrading for someone who's presumably weaker?

Peter donned the black cloth suit to get across how pissed he was, and he proceeded to utterly DESTROY Kingpin in a fight.
