I know. One complaint I have with the Spider-Man 2018 PS4 game is that Kingpin's voice sounds like he's trying too hard to be as big and brutish as his physique suggests, and I don't really believe him as an intelligent mastermind. Roscoe Lee Browne perfectly captures the feeling of a huge man deliberately speaking softly most of the time, effortlessly raising his voice to a roar when he needs to dominate a room, and with total, usually justified, confidence in being the smartest man in the room.
Roscoe Lee Browne was the definitive Kingpin. I'd say he was on the same level as Mark Hamill's Joker and Kevin Conroy's Batman.
Liev is better
Him and Ed Asner's James Jonah Jameson. Don't get me wrong, J. K. Simmons was good, but nothing tops Asner's in my opinion.

I love how he can be so threatening and he never had to say "kill". Good writing, faith in the audience to get the point and terrific delivery from the voice actor are great ways to get around censorship that were sadly not appreciated as they should.
If there's anything this video has taught me, it's that Spider-Man: The Animated Series sure had a lot of creative ways to get around having to reference death.

Roscoe Lee Browne was brilliant as this character. His voice was menacing, yet had a regal sound to it. Which is a perfect fit for this character, especially when he was in Spidey’s corner (where he had some Bond villain traits).
Fitting to use a bond song for someone who could easily qualify as bond villian.
350 lbs of muscle! There is really no actor in the world who could correctly portray the mass of Kingpin besides the amazing Michael Clarke Duncan. R.I.P., big guy. You will be missed.

Drake Bell the 2 best actors to play the Kingpin are the late Michael Clarke Duncan in the Daredevil movie featuring Ben Affleck, and Roscoe Lee Browne featured here. Browne had the voice, and Duncan had the physicality. Vincent D'Onofrio though he had the right color, he doesn't have either the voice or the physicality.
Surprisingly The Kingpin has no bones, organs or blood vessels if that much of him is MUSCLE.
It looks like he's fat tho...

The comics show that Kingpin never had a chance of winning against Spiderman. He just believed that he can win because Peter was holding back. Of course, that's until he made the huge mistake of nearly killing Aunt May... Cue to Peter easily beating him in front of a prison population.

Truly one of the greatest marvel Villains ever. He may not have Kang's resources, Loki's powers, or Doom's technology, but Wilson Fisk, aka. the Kingpin, is definitely one of the best.

All he had since the spiderman cartoon was the daredevil movie and his appearance in one episode of the mtv spiderman series. apparently they were going to use him in the spectacular spiderman series but couldn't because of copyright issues. (that was never an issue in the 90s. you know I never would have known about heroes like blade or the punisher or even Daredevil if it wasn't for that animated show)

Miloš Nikić Both the Kingpin and Daredevil got great actors in the original Daredevil film. The problem, like every other bad superhero film/spin-off, was that the original Daredevil had a shitty director and a script that nobody could follow with a well drawn out map. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, and Val Kilmer fell into that same trap (Red Sonya (a Conan the Barbarian spinoff from the '80's), Judge Dredd (1995), and Batman and Robin).

Antonio Terra Parreiras Neither one of those men can compare to Kingpin's perfect combination of brawn, brain, political connections, and money.
Frank G Lex is his superior in almost all of this but the characters just don't have nothing similar between them.
Antonio Terra Parreiras Lex Luther relies on Metal suits, kryptonite powered weaponry, and alien steroids to win fights (he fails to do even that). Kingpin does not need some Deus Ex Machina to defeat his enemies- he already has the strength to beat the living shit out of his opponents.
Frank G Luthor still more intelligent, smarter, have more money and better political connections.And he fights super power aliens not mans with spider powers or dressed as devils.
Don't get me wrong, Kingpin is awesome, just not superior to Luthor.

Very similar with Michael Ironside's Darkseid and other portrayals of him. Why is it both the other actors and voice direction just can't get it right?
Kingpin’s physical threat became impossible to take seriously once I learned how strong Spiderman actually is in canon.

I can honestly say such masterpieced work comes once in a life time well there has been a lot of animations but Spider-Man the animated series is the all time best series.

The muscle of an average human being accounts for roughly 40 to 50% of their overall body mass. Even if we were generous and said 60% of Kingpin is muscle, due to his wide frame, that would still mean he's hard of the heels of the 600 pound mark. He is BIG.

Roscoe Lee Browne was one of those who was known for doing a mid-Atlantic accent (a practically made-up accent that combines American English and received pronounciation and was often taught to upper-class Americans) even in modern times. Vincent Price, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Bette Davis, Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant (originally from England as well), and a handful of Disney villains like Jafar, Evil Queen, Lady Tremaine, and Maleficent, all spoke with it to sound more sophisticated
