+mwall444 There's a really epic page out of Uncanny X-Men heavily inspired by "The Meeting" where Professor X (Martin Luther King) and Magneto (Malcolm X) casually discuss their motives. Xavier simply wanted mutants to be respected, while Magneto explained he sought out dignity for all mutants. The both consider some form of compromise, but surrender to the fact that they represent opposing extremes and hope the future generations can accomplish what they can. Deep stuff.

Magneto reminds me of the portrayal of General Zod in the most recent superman movie. Not really evil but willing to go to whatever length to protect his people. Forged by atrocity and hardship he is a realist who sees people for the hateful, easily swayed, and destructive beings we are. Maybe one or 2 humans are okay in his eyes but as a whole he knows we will always fear what we cannot control or understand and so he believes mutants being hated/feared is inevitable. He also has some sith mentalities in that he believes those with power should use it and be free in who they are not chained down by what he sees as a weaker race.

He was always intelligent, usually one step ahead of everyone, ruthless, had fantastic lines, great moments, and had that awesome theme music. He also had the best voice actor. I wonder if people would reassess their views after realizing his actor also played Kratos in God of War.

A tragic villain. Misguided in his attempts to prevent the wrongs committed against the people of his youth from repeating, only to adopt an ideological model far too similar to his oppressors. Some scars never fade, especially those in the mind. Thus, the cycle of abuse begins on a terrible scale.

Believe it or not on Wolverine and the X-Men Magneto was way worse! Not only he was someone who used violence to defend his own ideas (o.k we can forgive him that) but also he was a despicable hypocrite! He did NOT cared about the Mutants or Xavier. And specifically the moment that I lost all the respect I had for Magneto and I hated him it was when Nightcrawler saw with his own eyes what Genosha was in reality. It may seemed like a paradise but in actuallity it was a huge prison for the Mutants that they didn't want to live on Genosha any longer, or for those who did wanted to stay but they felt unwelcomed by their fellows. Oh and speaking for Xavier I swear to God that the only reason he took cared Xavie it was to tempt the X-Men to come to live on Genosha... in order to imprison all of them immediately and even starting to torture them. Oh and I forgor to mention that he was a terrible father both on Pietro and Wanda.
