  • The Taliban and ISIS are both Islamist extremist organizations, both with similar interests. Despite both belonging to extreme branches of Islam and seeking to establish authoritarian states that adhere to their versions of Sharia law, both the Taliban and ISIS are two forces that have been in perpetual conflict since 2015. Why have these two extremist forces fought against each other for so long? In what ways are their goals and beliefs different? Well, join us as we investigate exactly why the Taliban and ISIS both hate each other.

Muslim+afghan+pashtun here, you repeated a few lies that have been circulating in the internet. Social media and television aren't banned in the slightest in Afghanistan. There are bans on women's education (unfortunately) but not to the extent that you mentioned. 13 of the 34 provinces allow women to go to school and university, and almost 80% of private institutions allow women's education across the board; from the 1st grade up to masters degrees. Women can travel alone in Afg contradicting the notion that "women are banned from public places". Plus, persecution from the government is at an all time low, much lower than the previous "democracy". All in all, corruption and crimes have been reduced, and harmful drug trades disrupted.
Edit: I am not saying whether they are objectively good or bad; I am just making a comparison, and by comparison they are slightly better than the previous Afghan government.
Edit 2: Nursing students will be allowed into universities in the upcoming semester, and medical students the semester after that. Note that this is only for public universities. Private universities were open to women from the beginning.

In general, the Taliban are still better in terms of how they interpret Islamic sharia law in their daily lives, although still at an extreme level. Their focus is also only on their own country, Afghanistan.
ISIS, on the other hand, does not show a proper application of Islamic sharia law at all; in fact, it can be said to be completely opposite to what is taught in the holy book of Muslims (the Qur'an). That is why many Muslim-majority countries are actually very anti-ISIS.

Some important information that wasnt mentioned.
At some point there were talks between the Taliban and ISIS basically trying to lay down a cease fire and plan for both their futures together after the Taliban found out about ISIS poaching many of their officers.
Talibans proposed that they both be two emirate states (basically what what Afghanistan is now) ISIS would control Syria and the Taliban would control Afghanistan. Both sides would work together and id imagine form some sort of an aliance.
ISIS however declares themselves a Caliphate, that is the equivalent of declaring yourself a Pope in the Muslim word (not the same just easiest thing to compare it too) and demanded nothing less.
As shown neither side liked agreed, and made relations go from hostile to basically war.
Thought i would mention this as I saw this as VERY important to the conflict and remember, im just some guy on the internet so take what i say with a grain of salt.

The Taliban did not have "control" over the entire country by the late 1990s. The Northern Alliance, for example. was still battling the Taliban ( Somewhere between ~10 to 20%, depending on the source and the year in question, of Afghanistan territory was either contested or not in Taliban hands. ). It was Northern Alliance forces that helped make the invasion of 2001 an initial success. The large numbers of foreign ground troops arrived a bit later.
Foreign troops, indigenous personel, equipment, tactics etc. became more effective as the years went by helping (along with previous engagements etc.) to greatly reduce foreign casualties in Afghanistan during the last number of years before withdrawing.
Sunni branch of Islam is not one of the largest, but by far the largest group (~85-90%, depending on the source). The Shia branch is second. There are different schools, factions etc within each branch.
Most Muslims take the Koran literally. It is more a question of interpretation, practice, schools of thought, use or lack of use of supplemental texts (Hadith etc.), history etc that explains the divergent groups and ideas between and within Sunni and Shia.
    Etc.
One needs to remember to verify what is being stated.

And still are. The Anti Taliban fronts are doing very well now in Afghanistan and have reclaim a lot of lands but no city yet but they have a strategy for that.

Obviously you didn't read the sources if shariah law to make this video. There is no peaceful version of shariah. Eighth century warlords write shariah for warlords to rule. The difference between Isis and Taliban is who gets to be the ruling warlord.
