BOEING 757 vs. WOMAN - Dangerous JETBLAST at SKIATHOS

- We all know that feeling. While just trying to walk along a street we suddenly get hit by the jetblast of a departing Boeing 757 out of nowhere. At least that` s what happened to this poor woman at Skiathos while a Boeing 757 of Tui Airlines started its takeoff run at the most famous airport in europe.
Skiathos is also known as the "european St. Martin". I decided to do a "best of Skiathos" video. The inner tube which was pulled out of the car by the jetblast of a Boeing 757 was a funny situation aswell. Whenever you visit Skiathos you see lots of stuff and people flying around cause they underestimate the power of a departing plane. The biggest plane which is allowed to land at Skiathos Airport is a Boeing 757-200.

Thai Aviation Club: At DTW the old NW DC-9’s would always power back from the gate if the ramp was dry.
The engines on a DC 9 are high off the ground. The engines on the 757 are by pass engines. No problems using reverse thrust to back up a little.

Those B757's still look super sleek. It'll be a sad day when they are grounded for good.
757 is my favorite narrow body aircraft to fly on by far! The power those things have!
It's good to see them get a 2nd life after the winglet improvements and ETOPS extensions. It's my favorite. Rode tons of them on Delta years ago.

That 757 blew at least one tire just after 8:30. It's why you see the runway check car at the end of the video.

Excellent as always! How did you get some of the higher angle shots, it looked like you had a drone but i would think the jet blast would blow it away. Really enjoyed :-)

Probably on a stick or pole. The wide angle will make it look higher than it actually is.
How extremely dangerous is it to use a camera on a pole under this approach, stupid!

I was not referring to the strom.
Last July, a tourist was blown away by jet blast, hit her head, and died. After the accident, local officials announced they were looking into options how to close the area down.

semaex: Backing up is highly unusual and pilots must use caution not to apply brakes or the tail will dip and strike the ground.

jet engine exhaust can be around 700 degrees F, so why is all the surrounding vegetation green and nobody is getting first degree burns? Not to mention the stench of kerosene.
