SKIATHOS 2018 - WAVING PILOTS, LOW LANDINGS and JETBLASTS - Boeing 757, Airbus A321 (4K)

- Welcome to Skiathos Airport, or as I call it "the european St. Martin". Skiathos has one of the craziest airports in europe. Airplanes fly extremly low above the street and pass a beach shortly before touching down on the runway. The traffic isn` t as interesting as it is in St. Martin cause Maho Beach can offer a few more heavy planes like the Airbus A340. Anyway, Skiathos is quite awesome and it` s always a pleasure to return to this beautiful island.
Usually all pilots who land at Skiathos are in a good mood and some of them wave to the people who await the crazy departure behind the runway. Shoutout to the friendly Scandinavian Airlines pilot.
The biggest airplane which is allowed to land at this airport is a Boeing 757 which is also visible within the first seconds of this video.

Imagine about a crosswind landing over there!!. It could be hilarious, the landing gears would be stuck on the mesh of the runway starting!!
We were there 24th Aug and left 3rd Sept. Spent quite a few hours at the end of the runway here. Great fun.

Very nice video. Never been to this airport but have been to SXM dozens of times... This is alright except not much of a beach sadly.. Every bit as good for spotting planes though.. Not nearly as busy...

Stupid question but does being exposed to jetblasts even for short amount of times, a lot of consecutive times is safe for people health?
Apart from the obvious peril of being pushed too hard and have a nasty fall against something, it can't be good for your hearing. Also, breathing burnt jet fuel (mostly kerosene) can't be as good as taking a morning stroll in the Alps, that's for sure.
