A message for all religious leaders and communities who still teach shame, pain, and inauthenticity when it comes to LGBTQ people.
David Archuleta nails it! His words sum up the importance of doing better and honoring who-and what we are.

My love for david archuleta is getting stronger and stronger everyday love u so much david archuleta been a fan of u since american idol
I shot this. He was as nice a man as you’d expect … I had the opportunity to bump into him in the tunnels and he was open to my reaching out a friendly handshake and a few words … very proud ally.
I lived that same life for 27 years! Born and raised in a baptist church I thought for sure I was going to hell and prayed everyday for God to change the way I felt. The first couple times I fell in love I was just afraid of the disappointment from family and church family. It all worked out, my family still loves and supports me and I left the Baptist church and found one that supports the community. David Archuleta is nothing but and inspiration to so many LGBTQ youth and I"m sure will save countless lives from suicide.
Thank you David. Love you! You have made a difference in many lives. God Bless.
OMG I'm sitting here in tears, so courageous of him to speak his truth ..love love love David Archuleta
I've always been a fan of David Archuleta. I don't think there is a more pure person out there.
David, I'm an older gay EX Mormon so I do understand. You are such an incredible person, you are beautiful inside and out so just be proud of yourself and be happy. By the way...LOVE the blond hair.
I'm 58. Out, alone and miserable. Gay life is sad for me. I hope David has a happy life.
You are the most brave guy !!!! It doesn’t matter what you are….. you are a beautiful PERSON and you have a lovely voice!!!! God bless you, and loves you!
I had the amazing opportunity to see David perform at YLC five years ago in Ontario, Canada. As one of the nurses there, I realized how many of the dear youth were struggling with mental health challenges. When David came to perform, he said he felt prompted to talk to them about something completely different than he and his manager had scripted. He was blessed by the Spirit to share his struggles and challenges with anxiety (and no wonder, given four years later he courageously shared being gay and LDS). I admired him before, but I admired him even more after that experience and that has continued to this day. What a courageous and beautiful spirit! Now that my own child has come out as transgender and non-binary, I realize even more how in tune with the Spirit that David was that day - he knew what they needed to hear and continue to need to hear. What a great role model! Much love from an LDS Canadian mo of an LGTBQ2 child! XO
And that is what I call character development. Absolutely moving to hear him sing this song after going through so much pain and self discovery. I love to see him living true to himself ❤️❤️
So great that you came out! We can only be who We are
You are so loved David and you are not alone. Take a different kind of bow now David. One to your own true self. God bless you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I wanna just pick him up and hug him! “Love Always Wins!”
Brother David,
I really needed to watch this today. You can literally TELL how much David loves God. He didn't choose this path, and now he's choosing to make the most of it and I'm so happy for him!
I've been a big fan of Achuleta since his American Idol days, David Cook won but i thought Achuleta was better! Thanks for coming out, but imagine what happens here in Africa and the Middle East. Pray for LGBTIQ people this side. It took u so long there, here it's a whole lifetime of pain
What an incredible young man. This young man is so in love with God Almighty, and he shows this each and every day to not only his fellow human beings, but to himself. He is so very gifted and we need to let him know that he is so very, very loved by so many. I have a sense of what he is going though because I want to be faithful to God,but want and need to be happy and love myself. It is difficult at times. But David knows that with God, anything and all is possible. Love God,love others but most importantly, love thyself. Amen. God Bless you brother David.
David, you are so o.k. just as you are. I am a senior Christian and am not gay but I know God loves you just the way you are. May God bless you. ❤️🇨🇦
The truth will set you free. Live free and joyous David.. ❤️🏳️🌈
