When that zoom in on the "crystal ball" near the end, for a second, I almost expected wicked blades to shoot out☺.
The tallman would approve
4 barrel shotgun, mysterious spheres, pure what the fuck. This is an unofficial Phantasm movie.
I was just going to post that!
Kyle Huckins who would be considered the creepy tall man in the Phantasm movie?
@@wstine79 The fruity guy, of course.
Godammit, now I want to play a Silent Hills/Red Dead Redemption crossover game that I know doesn't exist.
Spaghetti Western? No. - Macaroni and Cheese Western? Possibly.
Sounds good to me. : )
Matthew Hudson oh wow
More like All-You-Can-Eat Buffet Western.
Possibly a Huel Macaroni and Cheeze (yes, that's how they spell it) Western?
I swear your thumbs up count hit the limit and wrapped around.
You get the feeling Tony Anthony just checked what costumes were in storage and what sets were standing from other films and just wrote around what he found.
I mean, that’s how like a quarter of the episodes of the original Star Trek came about, so I wouldn’t call that a bad thing.
A 4-barreled shotgun is pretty awesome.
See Phantasm.
I bet the reload time on that must be a PAIN...
Any shotgun with more than one barrel is called a "Super Shotgun"
oh maaan, you don't know how right you are!! thats a Doom fan's wet dream!! (that means me!😊😋😇)
@@sorrenblitz805 LOL!🤣
Right?
Downloads all four movies in the series.
Grabs rolling papers.
Thanks, Brandon.
More like a blunt wrap
When will Indiana Kirk show up on the USS Tardis along with Bigfoot and his wife Shaquile O'Neal? They do battle against the Boston Celtics and Ellen Ripley.
you forgot clark wayne and bruce kent
@@kevinmorrice we need to have the Dummy Iamnotep, Bubbacula, and Frankenheimer!!Show up in this movie.
Tony Anthony...Tony Tony... Anthony Anthony... Anthony Tony.
Not-Alan-Rickman as the sheriff of Not-the-Right-Time-Period! )
As a kid I loved Robin Hood w/ Kevin Costner and Alan Rickman
"Why a spoon?"
This would make a great video game.
It was like they raided an old prop department and used everything they found.
The Ed Wood approach to film-making.
Yup, 100% historically accurate. Should be mandatory in schools.
Well a movie produced by the voice of Launchpad from DuckTales and Darkwing Duck can't be that fictional. No joke, he was an executive producer on this.
You adorable fuzzy little lagomorph you!
It is actually not historically accurate. The Moors were driven out of Spain in 1492, and so they would not be fighting for Spanish territory in the nineteenth century. Moreover, the depiction of the Moors is not true to history. The costumes are a hodgepodge of styles that have little, if any, connection to the actual Moors. Though this film may be useful for an art class, it is too divergent from actual history to be of any positive use in a history class.
Well, at least they got the vikings right
To be fair this is probably as accurate as most history books. Between the common misconceptions and outright propaganda I probably learned more about history from movies like this then I did from my school's history classes
This is less of an anachronism stew and more like an anachronism smoothie-taking EVERY time period and putting it in a blender
And yet, this could actually work if handled by a good director :=)
Well, I've heard of the term "Acid Western" thrown around as a subvariety, and now I understand more about how that term came around...
Incidentally, the actual wars in 19th-century Spain mostly involved the Carlists.
Were they fighting against the Craiglists??
@@MMFan2004 That thing travelling above your head is what's known as a joke.
@@MMFan2004 Yes, that was clearly a genuine answer and not a joke.
If you're going to call others "idiots", may want to check that you're not being one first.
Please stop making people hate history; they know little enough of it as it is.
Actually, bottles were wrapped in rope or rags and then soaked with water. The evaporation would cool the liquid a couple of degrees.
Interesting! One would have to imagine it provided some physical protection to the glass bottle, as well; I imagine they were fairly expensive, and, of course, pretty delicate.
0:29 I can vouch for THE HORSEMAN AND THE SAMURAI. They played it on TCM in HD a few months ago.. nowhere near as random and crazy as this, but a fairly well crafted film along the lines of RED SUN with Charles Bronson and Toshiro Mifune (but with a bit more action, and taking place primarily in Japan).
0:46 COMIN AT YA! is not only on blu-ray, but converted to Real 3D. It's actually a pretty good spaghetti western on it's own, regardless of the 3D material.
1:55 "The Asgard hero to.." you know.. he _does_ look a bit like Loki.
"OH MY GOD, I'M BLACK!!!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😃😀☺😏 that was pretty funny!
I love your sense of humor
It's like Terry Gilliam and Mel Brooks dropped a ton of acid and then collaborated to make this movie.
Now that makes WAY too much sense!
I was thinking Ed Wood on mushrooms, but you got it...
Lol
@@CD-Gaming It does. Also, I want to see a movie made by an acid'd up Mel Brooks and Terry Gilliam! :=)
There should be a Silent Hill Red Dead Redemption crossover video game.
Gotta love the Seinfeld references
Do the 1980 movie Heavy Metal
That's why Brandon rocks lol Most CZcamsrs would be to scared to make a gay joke lol. No seriously though he rocks cause his wit is on point. Always says what i"m thinking but always twice as funny as how I would have said it lol.
You must have seen a very limited number of youtubers if that makes brandon unique to you. Not saying he's bad, just not that orginal.
You think gay jokes are uncommon on CZcams? Really?
Brandon's making fun of those tired jokes. Might wanna pick-up on that.
You can joke about whatever you like; just be funny and have a (legit) purpose. It's not a lot to ask in exchange for demanding other people's attention.
Half expected the Knights who say nee to show up
Like a western Fantasy Mission Force.
Frankly, the idea of a 19th century north American gun-slinger being hired by European aristocracy does sound interesting. Turning that into a ghost story even more so.
Muslim Vikings aren't unheard of in Spain either.
And despite everything, this movie is still less of an anachronism stew than most movies set in the middle ages or antiquity. It's just more noticeable because it's closer to now.
That said: I would not pay money to see this particular movie. How could it not be disappointing?
Muslim Vikings? Are you talking about Norse people? Because Vikings were not a racial group. It was what you called a norse raider. Or did you mean to have a comma between Viking and Muslim?
@@MastemaJack Mmm, not really. Vikings is what they called themselves. It's a verb. And as the people doing the self-naming were largely from the same society, geographic area, and general ethnic group, it's hard to say that they couldn't be defined largely on racial status. This changed somewhat as the Vikings spread and bred, of course, which is where we got Normans.
@@MastemaJack He probably meant to say "Muslim Sea Raider" like Barbary pirates but muslim viking just sounded cooler at that moment (also because of those stupid horned helmets)
"a queen still outranks you, lady" XD
According to the line drawn on the map, the journey to Spain started in Upper Peninsula Michigan.
THE MOOPS
A Silent Hill and Red Dead Redemption crossover? I know you were joking but I would play the hell out of that!
Well hopefully this video will convince Konami & Rockstar to get the ball rolling on that!
Your videos are so awesome!! You really deserve more views haha.
I actually want to see this now! I love these bizarre Italian films!
Jesus. After watching this review, Army of Darkness is probably the closest comparison I could make, but even then it seems like a weak comparison.
big fan brandon I can't wait to see other movies you got planned!
5:10 I had to stop and clap for that one. Beautifully executed.
I do think the werewolf bit and the undead attack were references to Spanish Horror Films. I forget the name of the Werewolf One (which does take place in Spain), but the other one was "The Templar Zombies Series." I kid you not, that was a thing they made in Spain.
"I do care something about anything" freaking hilarious!
... Hey Brandon, it's Michael from Phoenix Arizona thumbs up...
Hey, would you review a Cheng Cheh movie?
or that North Korean giant monster flick "Pulgasari"?
or "Master of the Flying Guillotine"?
That would break the "DECAPITATION" soundboard
That’s one reason i love tubi they have plenty of weird older movies on it. Im watching this movie right now, it looked bat shit crazy i had to check it out. Great reviews keep up the good work.
This was also called “Time Breaker,” which actually makes more sense.
Now, The Question Is: Which Movie Invokes The Meaning Of WTF More, Get Mean Or The Dragon Lives Again?
David Bowie saw a bad movie approaching and dropped his crystal balls before escaping into the labyrinth
As a Spaniard, I can tell you this is totally accurate to our History...
Treasure of the 4 crowns gives me flashbacks. Saw that weird movie so many times on HBO when I was a kid in the early 80's
3:10 Well according to that map, the movie starts out somewhere around Green Bay Wisconsin. Maybe those Vikings were really Packers.
I must watch the whole series and own the box set.
BOX SET!
Yes I want that box set
You know what nobody would have expected in this movie; the spanish inquisition
Oh Boy...
If Tony Anthony became the new star of this show, is a great idea ! Long live to you Brandon and concratulation for your work !(I'm French, excuse me for my English)
The "it's" Monty Python reference totally cracked me up LOL
Whatever else, that soundtrack ROCKS (or plinks/clanks/whatever...)!
If the other Stranger movies are anything like this, please review them! This was insane and awesome!
"I don't know what that means but it sound like I'm going to have to black box it..." LOL
That grandmother's jewelry line nearly made me lose it
The only Stranger film I ever seen was the third one in which he end up fight Samurai. Worth a review
As soon as you mentioned Alejandro Jodorowsky i was lik HE NEEDS TO DO “EL TOPO!!!!” It’s a badass western-fied samurai movie where the main character Alejandro Jodorowsky goes on a quest to become the ultimate gun fighting master by defeating some number of gun masters living in the desert... the movie is filled with crazy shit and some of the coolest gun fights ever... and it makes alot more sense then Holy Mountain’s 🐄💩 ending... so please review EL-TOPO
This might actually make LESS sense than El Topo.
@@fromthecheapseats7126 the movie or my comment 😅
@@jerkfudgewater147 The movie
Dont' Diss Paul in Buffy--one of the best deaths ever.
Now you mention treasure of the four crowns what in 3D hell ! It won the what the bollox am I watching award in the 80s ! Class
I have got to find these movies on dvd....
I remember seeing Coming at ya at a theater in New Orleans as a kid.
I'm getting a bit of a blazing saddles vibe from this movie
Blazing Saddles meets Time Bandits meets The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen!
@@TallSilentGuy that sounds like an acid trip's acid trip
I wanna see MOAR!!!1!
god I wish Kingdom of Heaven had been directed by Jodorowsky
Really makes me wish you did McKenna's Gold. It has alot of cult movies cred... PG nudity, some graphic violence, academy award winners, quasi mystical themes
Wow, the Moops built Neuschwanstein Castle in Spain!
Valuable history learnings....
Cooking someone with a belt full of ammo over a fire... It's food and fireworks, saves effort...
I have to see this.
I have a headcanon where the Stranger eventually retires to become Tracy Walter in Repo Man.
I'd been laughing pretty good thru most of it, but when Crown Prince Mince jumps into shot and Brandon goes, "Sur-PRIIIIIISE~!", I just goddamn lost it. This movie's a weird fever dream of a movie as it is, but Tenold keeps the heading forward throughout with laughs and jabs.
Once upon a time, I didn't think something like "The Room" was real ... I was so blissfully naive back then.
"That's a thing I just said." Plololololololololol!
1:42 "The bottle was dusty, but the liquor was clean."
I've heard that this movie is used to teach European history in high schools in some US states.
This sounds pretty weird. I wonder how it compares with 'The Order of the Black Eagle', the most random film I've personally seen. Suppose it depends if the 4-barrel shotgun features more prominently in this, than that other film's tank-driving baboon.
Probably this, in terms of weirdness? "Black Eagle" at least made some sense.
BE is still more fun, though, I think. Like you said, baboon tank.
12:43 TITLE DROP!!!!
I kind of dig watching a movie and not once really knowing what’s going to happen next!
That's not $10,000! That's about enough Chuckie Cheese tokens to get a skate board.
This _needs_ so *badly* to be remade...
Shop smart. Shop Stranger Mart. YOU GOT THAT!!!!
Love it, especially when he thought he was "dying".
"Saskatchewan"? Yeah, right!
He did say it was made up. Trust me I drove through it from BC to Ontario. I can confirm it wasn't there. There was this area of complete flatness Then Rod Serling came out and announced I was in a 2 dimensional land, a land only of thought, sound, mind and lacking any height. I did what any BC boy would do when confronted with a lack of mountains. I got drunk. When I sobered up I was in Northern Ontario. I could tell because of the blizzards.
that raises my hope that I some day will see a Bud Spencer and/or Terence Hill movie on your channel :D
Roger Ebert named this as his "Dog of the Week" when it was released stateside.
'Treasure of the Four Crowns' is very special to me, as it is the last movie I saw with my best friend before he died. I would love for you to review it (if you can stomach it)!
Comicon was rough in 1970's Spain!
Love the Seinfeld reference. Lmao! Awesome,
The best stranger movie IMO is the one where he goes to Japan. I saw that and the first one on AMC not that long ago.
2:49 Funny you should say that. See in the original movie...
Paul Rubin's death in Buffy was actually hilarious
I was disappointed the series wasn't in the same groove
These PC Rules are great:
One group: rules are NA
Other group: don’t even think certain thoughts much less…that’s the penalty for building too many schools/hospitals, eradicating polio, small pox, leprosy, elephantiasis, etc…, making food/water safe/plentiful, and fighting natives for 400 years to make it safe for you and your scalp
I knew Saskatchewan was a myth!
I adore every one of the meta black boxing jokes.
I should use this movie's plot in my next Pathfinder game.
the fancy villian reminds me of the mayor's son from vampire hunter d
"Swishy McStereotype" hahahaheeheehee
The Bubbleboy! One of the best episodes.
Least impressive Clint Eastwood ever...
Could've had Beverley Leslie in that scene saying "Well well well."
this is part of "the stranger" series, which you should watch. also Blind man with Ringo Starr (perfect for this show). it's a spaghetti western zatoichi
Gotta love it when some idiot just repeats what was said in the video like he's the only one who knows...
Lol Mammy!
