    Your reviews are always so well thought and written out. I hope you much success with this channel because you’re such a reasonable and logical reviewer. I started my boot journey in 2018 and wished I had a reviewer like you back then so I could avoid many mistakes along the way but I’m glad you’re making and sharing your experiences and thoughts on these footwear because it’s a massive contribution to this sub culture of leather aficionados!

    For my Indy boot fix, I have two pairs of boots no longer being made. A pair of Red Wing 9030 in cigar featherstone and a pair of Frye Walton in whisky. Both are made in the USA, out of premium leathers and materials, and check the indy style of course. I live in Denver CO, USA, and I've never had a problem with nitrile cork soles in light snow and ice. Of course, I get my snow boots when we get deeper snowfall. I feel like boots are like tools, there is one for every job.
    I'm loving your videos, keep up the good work!

    I’ve amassed a collection a bit too large to really put my boots through their paces, but I have a pair of Indy’s that I’ve dragged through PNW rain and snow and recently down a mountain trail to relax on the beach. It’s definitely a bit sketchy with the neocork soles, but the comfort can’t be beat for sure! They’ll likely stay on flat surfaces in the future

    Many people bag on Aldens for the price and then talk about still breaking in their boots after a year. The Alden feels like you slipped your foot into creamy deerskin glove and they are a pleasure to wear all day long. I love the way they look and I’ll have them for life…that all combines for a great value…to me.

    Great review, as always. I’ve heard the story about Harrison Ford wearing Aldens as a carpenter before. I’m always slightly skeptical. I’m sure he did carpentry work in them, but I doubt he was wearing them as a full time carpenter. I’ve known quite a few carpenters and none of them ever worked in $600 shoes. I know that I’m picking at nits. Again, thanks for the great review and introducing us to another boot brand!

      Yes, but that was back in the 60's and they wouldn't have had the 'Indy' premium price attached also

      @@goodyearspokane you are so right. I just came across someone who said his first pair cost $200. And it sounds like only the price went up and not the quality. Not surprising, I guess, but disappointing nonetheless.

      @@grebewater I have a pair, think they are worth the price, well relative to other well made boots at least

    Great review Teik. I didn't know about Rhodes Owen, I'll take a look although I am so in love with the Alden Indy, it'll be difficult to try something else... my wife will definetely agree with spending less though 😅. I really like the Trubalance last, very comfortable and roomy, like no other.
    I really enjoy the Indy dilema you shared today... But knowing Dr. Jones, he'll go for the Aldens, no doubt. 🙂

    Thank you for all the boot videos! Im enjoying them a lot, even if aesthetically many would not be my choice. Have you looked at Crockett and Jones at all? I have multiple Conistons, and their Islay is spectacular. It's worn by James Bond, too! I suppose I've do prefer Bond to Indiana Jones in movies and in boots 😄

    Excellent review. A better competitor to the Alden's are definitely the Grant Stone Ottawa's. And what do you think about Truman Boots??

    Wow you went TTS in the Trubalance. I’m also an 8.5D on the Brannock and TTS would definitely be too roomy. However the Brannock only measures 2 dimensionally and I have low volume feet with skinny ankles.

  • @MarcP5267
    @MarcP5267 Před rokem +1

    My take is if makers like GS, Truman etc can replicate the Trubalance last that would be the down fall of Alden.
    Yes Alden’s are over priced BUT the 405 in calf is the only boot in my collection that I can wear all day and don’t even know I’m wearing them.

    • @drzaius844
      @drzaius844 Před rokem

      Then they probably aren’t overpriced. GS doesn’t have the capital to offer the same boot on multiple lasts, the way Alden does. You can’t order a special makeup from GS. GS doesn’t have the arch support, or last elegance. I love GS but Alden is 100% worth the premium, especially once you experience the perfect last - for me the 379x.

    Going to comment before watching the video. It has to be the Indy, just too iconic, comfortable, and good looking. Okay now going to watch the video.

    Save and Get the original Indy boots. It’s expensive but you’ll love it.
