I tried for 6 hours to find the M79 in other locations that were not the heli crashes and trains. I couldn't find it on both Chernarus and Livonia, even while increasing M79 spawns x10 and reducing dynamic events to 0(including other combinations). As far as I'm concerned, the M79 does not spawn in any location other that dynamic trains and heli crashes(for now)... However, there was a bug on experimental that had them spawn in some other military locations like Tisy and Zelen. I guess that bug was fixed with the 1.18 stable release based on my testing.
fun (well maybe not very fun) thing to check out if not already done, would you see a heli crash spawn in if you stayed long enough close to one or not? And what happens if you stand exactly at the spawn spot, would you die or not?
@@pr0faker There is a number in the game files set to 1000 for heli crashes, which I believe is the distance you need to be away from the heli spawn for it to spawn or despawn. I've never seen one spawn or despawn in front of me. Additionally, for this video I camped a live heli crash, an empty heli spawn and live dynamic train for 8 hours while I was out for the day and nothing spawned or despawned(I was ~800m from each spawn).
Removing item limits is one of the best additions this game ever had. Looting a helicrash and finding no top tier gun there was extremely disappointing every time
its been this way for well over a year no idea why wobo is covering it now but i guess better late then never, heli crash loot is still effected by players carry them so still expect to not find many high tier guns at heli crashes

Good improvement. 1 - Dynamic loot add interest in going to new areas and re-planing "loot routes" by diversifying loot spots. I like the idea of being able to find good loot (however scarce) even if nearby the coast. 2 - Cancelling item limits is a blessing, it'll leave a chance to solo players against hoarders. It took time, but the game is really getting better and better. For future updates it would be nice to develop ambiance (sounds, random events) to make the journey more thrilling.
item limits have been gone from hoarding for a long time now for about 1-2 years. i dont know why wobo is talking about it now though. but yeah this update is pretty good and the game is getting better.

@@coomer4064 everything's exactly the same no limits have been removed according to the code of the game heli crash items are still count in player 1 everything else like before are count in hoarder 0 and count in player 0 so m4s, all aks, smgs etc basically everything thats not a heli crash item still doesnt have a limit
I was thinking we should be able to find most meds in regular houses you can't tell me you live in a house without bandages and some sort of cough medicine it could be balanced by only spawning in bathrooms which spawn nothing as is anyways

The grenade launcher is good in theory, but I either have all the ammo and no gun or vice a versa. Then I base raided by just dropping the grenade shells on the ground and shooting them, worked just as well. Actually it was a lot more accurate... Did give a new spawn one though and he looked Christmas and Easter had merged into one big day

Wobo, helis and trains do not share the same loot. LARs, VSDs, etc. still only spawn at helis. Trains can only spawn normal mili gear like sgk, usg, as well as being the exclusive spot for the M97.

I'm surprised they didn't add rifle grenades as well considering the sks in the game is modeled off the Yugoslavian PAP M59/66 which has the gas cutoff/volley sight and gas rings for use with 22mm rifle grenade.
Now that they've developed a grenade launcher it's possible they would. Indeed as you say the yugo SKS depicted in the game is a good candidate. The Famas also.
Hey WOBO, could you do a video on radios? For instance, how the Zenit Radio Station works, or the ranging on the field transceivers and walk talkies, and if buildings or height affects the connectivity between them, etc. I feel like these are the most underutilized mechanics in DayZ! Maybe there are some hidden features within the code for these items.
If they change Radios at all I will focus on making a video for them, but I doubt I will make a video otherwise for a while. I haven't finished covering 1.18 and 1.19 will release probably when I do :p

Game would be more interesting and the random events more "dynamic" if there were as many possible random event locations as there are spawnpoints. There is so much railroad length on Chernarus, so many random locations for helis to crash, that it seems a waste of all this map area to only use a few points for these rare events.

You could talk about the loot that spawns in static toxic areas as well, because there are some rifles (M4, VSS, AKM) that appear on this places with high frequency.
It will be worth it just to run the tracks. Out of thousands of hours I think I may have ran into another player on the tracks only a small handful of times, especially in the western woods. It'll be a hotspot now.

Maybe one day we can get food trucks spawning in the middle/northern roads of the map on Cherno, like a crashed truck carrying a load of bread or beans you could loot for some easy meals lol! It almost seems too much between trains, heli crashes but no heli’s in the game, and the recently added noob tube. I can understand if they want to do this for consoles considering they don’t have modding but on PC I enjoy vanilla DayZ and it’s starting to sound like it’s heading out of the survival category and into a run and gun COD type, considering they keep adding military gear like this. I don’t mind the heli’s being added but I’d like to keep it less like a heavily modded server to keep the survival element since that is why I love the game to begin with, but I will give it a shot at least and see how it goes. I think the added guns are great survival is all good and well but if you just want a survival game no pvp then you may as well find a pve community server cuz late game day z there is no survival element minus the op zombies just pvp
There actually is an animation for the heli crashes, it’s just very weird and slide show like because I don’t think the devs really expected people to see it. There is a video of it on CZcams I believe
I've only just found one civvy train, and a recent trip to Rify and Pavlovo were very disappointing... I made sure to go when there was no one before me, and still got "not much"
I think a sound effect to go with the new unique train spawns would make them much easier to find, maybe even add heavy smoke on the wheels of the train to indicate it’s recent stoppage and also provide a visual aid, an I don’t know sound design wise maybe the train horn along with the squelch of the train brakes to indicate it’s nearby presence?

A heads up it happened in the server I run. Sometimes when the train spots change and despawn stuff from the train cars floats in the location where it was.
Hi wobo, could you talk about the two soft skills in the game? (the needle and the hammer), I have not been able to find much reliable information about it and it is extremely interesting as I have heard if you max out the needle soft skill you can repair items to pristine quality. Thanks :)
As of the last update, you could only repair your items to worn, but it would give you more use out of soft skill items (sewing kits, leather repair, gun repair) essentially making you more efficient. Also if you are going for a specific soft skill, say needle, and you build anything, it is reset to the center of of the scale. And man does it take alot of repairs to get it maxed out
Honestly I don’t worry about the soft skills, just based on the simple fact most of the time before you can see any difference, you usually die and don’t live long enough to benefit from it. Also you have to choose which one to go for as it resets if your skill is good at repairing clothes and you start building a base it goes back to the middle as stated by the other comment here. Perhaps in the future they’ll tweak it, but for now it’s not worth the bother in my book.
I don't get what the Unique area southwest of Vavilovo is for. The only thing in there is 1 Heli crash, but heli crashes are all unique from what I understand. Can anyone explain?
LAR carry here.... Getting mine would've been easier now... Took many many many helicopter crash sites not to mention being shot at... So many groups, so many bad shooters...
all the loot systems are the same, hoarding hasnt effected the loot system for years now, recently if players had too much heli gear on them more wouldnt spawn and it still seems to be that way looking at the xml files.
I've found multiple deagles since this update... Honestly it feels weird cause I've only found maybe 1 prior to 1.18 yet now I've found multiple including a golden one

I found them usually at the airfield prisons 3 times in a row.

I believe they had upped the spawn rate of the launcher for experimental so more people would be able to test it for bugs

I'm pretty sure there is a grenade launcher you can place on the KA Rifles in the files. I might be wrong but I read about it somewhere

My unlooted train contained 2 tac vests, an AKu, a radio backpack and gave me the Ump. 🐸Sadge

I don't get what the Unique area southwest of Vavilovo is for. The only thing in there is 1 Heli crash, but heli crashes are all unique from what I understand. Can anyone explain?
there's also the area above novaya, but nothing spawns in those ruins at all
Interesing, I've only come across the Industrial train and I've even found military gear in 1 that spawned at Vavilovo but its on community server.
The detonator is in the train wrecks as well
The trains are not always the same
Those numbered locations for plastic explosives... What are they? I can't tell what the locations are just by looking at an aerial view

Where are you guys finding the VSS and the AS/Val . I'm having a tough time .
They only spawn at static gas zones along with m4 akm
Best bet is off another player or base

I don't even pick them up. They spawn in Rify a ton.

LAR carry here.... Getting mine would've been easier now... Took many many many helicopter crash sites not to mention being shot at...
So many groups, so many bad shooters...
all the loot systems are the same, hoarding hasnt effected the loot system for years now, recently if players had too much heli gear on them more wouldnt spawn and it still seems to be that way looking at the xml files.
I've found multiple deagles since this update... Honestly it feels weird cause I've only found maybe 1 prior to 1.18 yet now I've found multiple including a golden one
Deagles were always easy to find. The spawn rate of deagles was never limited too.

@@dayz_jedi8288 they are lol they were limited by count_in_player="1" so if a certain amount of players had them none would spawn

@@comic_the_ace yeah if the player is on said server. But if you logged out the count gets reset. And almost every second guy i killed had a golden deagle too so...
Play vanilla console only. Have found 4 m79s. Two off helicrashes and two off players.
