I've said it for years now. Bird was a better Player that Lebron is. Lebron got a healthy body and athleticism. Bird checks all categorys besides those 2.
I compare LeBrons 13th year stats to Birds 13th and final season stats. Bird was ahead in assists, rebounds, and field goal %. It took LeBron another 2 years to reach that.
Where did you have pistol pete? 6'7 that could handle the ball better than point guards. He averaged 44 a game in college without the 3 point line. Many hall of fame players modeled their game after him.
It didn't matter how many players tried to guard Bird - 1,2,3,4 or the whole team, if Bird wanted to shoot he found a way and made the shot. It was also hard to guard Bird because of he knew where everyone on the court was and Bird could shoot with either hand, drive left or right and make passes that very few others could as well as just step back and take the shot. You could not rest for 1 second when guarding Bird.
bird was so good, that a lot of times, the game was just so slow and boring for him....you know how well you are playing when it seems like everyone else is going in slow motion and u already know that bird wasn't the quickest player, so the fact that he is making the best athletes in the world look like their stuck in cement is simply amazing
THAT was fun! I enjoyed your commentary on those great plays. Larry and the Celtics were a joy to watch. Exciting. I love the passing too. Goood stuff! 🙂 🎶Lone-leee I'm mister Lone-leee 🎶 Loved it 😁
React to - Michael Jordan vs Larry Bird Highlights ( 1991.03.31) - 71 pts, Crazy Battle! Must Watch . Larry’s back at this point was treated for hours before games just so he can be able to play.
One more thing, you are cracking me up. His game is a game of chess...finesse. Also, he played during a time of Magic, Kareem...all the way to Jordan. He makes it look like he is playing against high school kids. Lol
People that like Lebron owe it to Larry and Magic. Outside the box thinker's that found ways to win with their talents. Shots were not their primary idea and they had several bags to throw your body in after they killed you on the floor. They used everyone on the floor and would make you pay when the ball left their hands. Kobe didnt see it ... but the start of street ball in my opinion.
Larry could dunk but never know for it as he couldnt jump very high, but he was plagued with injuries and saw dunking as strictly flash and a waste of time - besides as you have seen, he didnt need to dunk to dominate players which made it look so much easier for him. Larry was flat out about winning the game, period. The Celtics showed some of the best ball movement and passing in NBA history, and if you really want to see an example of an ELITE passing team check out the video > "86 Celtics tribute, THE BEAUTIFUL GAME"
You should really watch his ultimate mix tape. Bird won MVP 3 years in a row with some of the greatest players ever playing! Probably the biggest trash talker ever to play. Once broke his face in the game and the opponent took a big lead. He came back out and destroyed them! He’s my #2 all time!
"Y'all gonna have to do somethin'." Like what exactly? It's hard to defend players that are fundamentally competent. Bird trashed the best defenders in the league at the time like Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pippen, and Charles Barkley. They couldn't defend Bird either. They'll admit that.
You HAVE to go watch "5 Times Larry Bird was Injured but REFUSED to Quit". Yes he was an amazing player, but you will not believe what he overcame to achieve what he did. This is what really puts him above any other player. Watch it, you won't regret it. There are other great Bird videos as well, like about his passing or his trash talking, and of course the one "making the case" for him as GOAT.
(correct me if I'm wrong) but I think Bird only averaged less than 1 3 point attempt per quarter. people just didn't shoot the 3 then, so people weren't guarding it the way they do now. I don't think he would have minded if they were up in his face at the 3 point line though, never seemed to matter anyway, and if they overplay him it just means more dimes, and those lefty hook layups at the basket!
In response to you saying, ‘I wanna see him bang!’ That’s not Larry, that’s not true basketball. It’s a team sport for a reason. Larry purposely set up shots for others to take, the true way basketball is meant to be played. 5 on 5.
If you double teamed Bird, he'd have 30 assists and McHale would drop 70.

Actually birds early career he was pretty athletic. He moved pretty fast and had a better vertical then to. His injuries slowed him down a bit.

Many players are better than LeBron. Including Isiah Thomas and Charles Barkley.
All time ranking I got Bird #3. Ain't nothin this man couldn't do on a basketball court.

Bird and Curry have the prettiest shots I've ever seen. Both have so much arc that the ball barely even touches net!!
Larry Legend! Top 3 Basketball Player Ever.

It didn’t matter who
was guarding this man ,
Nobody could stop
BIRD from scoring …..
Larry always knew where everyone was on the court.
MY TRUE GOAT 🐐
What I noticed in this video that I hadn't appreciated before, how good is he at getting open??
Great review was so entertaining... hopefully will see the 1992 Dream Team video reaction... keep up the great work

Larry Bird gets way less recognition than he really deserves these days. He was one of those trash talkers in his era that could actually back it up.
All hustle and no hesitation. They didn't know what to do with him.
This man is easily the best player of basketball that ever lived. The definition of "lacing" a shot.
Bird definitely could dunk in his early years. Once he hurt his back, he kind of stopped all that kind of thing.

Walton's passing is incredible. It's artistic. The late great D.J also had magical passing.
Larry didnt need to dunk, he made his opponents look confused without it.
Bird would literally tell the defender what he was going to do and shoot it in their face. They still couldn’t stop him!
You crack me up!! 😆 I needed that, thanks! ✌ & 💜
Vocab for this video:
"Good pass."
"Step up!"
"BUCKET!"
😆
Fly bird fllyyyyy
his ultimate mix tape is great too, these highlights are all just from one season
I needed a laugh. Had to watch again😁
thanks
✌🏼 & 💜
In his prime Bird was as good as anybody who ever played the game.

Michael vick, Calvin Megaton Johnson
Do Kevin McHale
A reaction that's long overdue
Bird was making 3s before the 3 point line came ruled ! Fact my friend

You have the best reactions 😂
Faxx

bruh, you should peep George Gervin, they don't call him the Iceman for nothing

Awesome vid. Bang bang
84-85 was bird in his prime
React to Zach Lavines best dunks he’s a great shooter and ball handled as well

dope
That Bird jumper was cash. This is the Celtic team that Mike put 63 on in the playoffs.
and still lost..
@@wesgibson1915 AND, 63 in OT is not the same as 63 in regulation.
Larry Bird is left handed he just shoots rightie
I forget which player said this; (Jordan will make You look slow But Bird will make You look stupid). ha ha ha & that is true.
Lebron James shouldn’t be in the
same Sentence with Larry Bird !
Queen James overrated!
