    If you double teamed Bird, he'd have 30 assists and McHale would drop 70.

    I've said it for years now. Bird was a better Player that Lebron is. Lebron got a healthy body and athleticism. Bird checks all categorys besides those 2.

      Actually birds early career he was pretty athletic. He moved pretty fast and had a better vertical then to. His injuries slowed him down a bit.

      I compare LeBrons 13th year stats to Birds 13th and final season stats. Bird was ahead in assists, rebounds, and field goal %. It took LeBron another 2 years to reach that.

      Many players are better than LeBron. Including Isiah Thomas and Charles Barkley.

      Where did you have pistol pete? 6'7 that could handle the ball better than point guards. He averaged 44 a game in college without the 3 point line. Many hall of fame players modeled their game after him.

    Bird and Curry have the prettiest shots I've ever seen. Both have so much arc that the ball barely even touches net!!

    It didn't matter how many players tried to guard Bird - 1,2,3,4 or the whole team, if Bird wanted to shoot he found a way and made the shot.
    It was also hard to guard Bird because of he knew where everyone on the court was and Bird could shoot with either hand, drive left or right and make passes that very few others could as well as just step back and take the shot. You could not rest for 1 second when guarding Bird.

    bird was so good, that a lot of times, the game was just so slow and boring for him....you know how well you are playing when it seems like everyone else is going in slow motion and u already know that bird wasn't the quickest player, so the fact that he is making the best athletes in the world look like their stuck in cement is simply amazing

    People that like Lebron owe it to Larry and Magic. Outside the box thinker's that found ways to win with their talents.
    Shots were not their primary idea and they had several bags to throw your body in after they killed you on the floor. They used everyone on the floor and would make you pay when the ball left their hands. Kobe didnt see it ... but the start of street ball in my opinion.

    Larry could dunk but never know for it as he couldnt jump very high, but he was plagued with injuries and saw dunking as strictly flash and a waste of time - besides as you have seen, he didnt need to dunk to dominate players which made it look so much easier for him. Larry was flat out about winning the game, period. The Celtics showed some of the best ball movement and passing in NBA history, and if you really want to see an example of an ELITE passing team check out the video > "86 Celtics tribute, THE BEAUTIFUL GAME"

    You should really watch his ultimate mix tape. Bird won MVP 3 years in a row with some of the greatest players ever playing! Probably the biggest trash talker ever to play. Once broke his face in the game and the opponent took a big lead. He came back out and destroyed them! He’s my #2 all time!

    "Y'all gonna have to do somethin'." Like what exactly? It's hard to defend players that are fundamentally competent. Bird trashed the best defenders in the league at the time like Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pippen, and Charles Barkley. They couldn't defend Bird either. They'll admit that.

    You HAVE to go watch "5 Times Larry Bird was Injured but REFUSED to Quit". Yes he was an amazing player, but you will not believe what he overcame to achieve what he did. This is what really puts him above any other player. Watch it, you won't regret it. There are other great Bird videos as well, like about his passing or his trash talking, and of course the one "making the case" for him as GOAT.

  • @danimalplanimal
    @danimalplanimal Před rokem

    (correct me if I'm wrong) but I think Bird only averaged less than 1 3 point attempt per quarter. people just didn't shoot the 3 then, so people weren't guarding it the way they do now. I don't think he would have minded if they were up in his face at the 3 point line though, never seemed to matter anyway, and if they overplay him it just means more dimes, and those lefty hook layups at the basket!

  • @loriesteck2357
    @loriesteck2357 Před 2 lety +1

    In response to you saying, ‘I wanna see him bang!’ That’s not Larry, that’s not true basketball. It’s a team sport for a reason. Larry purposely set up shots for others to take, the true way basketball is meant to be played. 5 on 5.
