He was labeled the next big superstar early on because of his high flying dunks and “vincsanity”, but his overall game was somewhat limited for a few years. HOWEVER Like a true Pro he kept developing until by his 30s his game was more complete despite losing a bit of his athletic advantage. He became a much better team player and proved his skill by playing til 40! Outlasted Tracy McGrady by ALOT! Props to Vince Carter!

While I don’t think Vince truly peaked and realized his true individual potential I think it’s worth noting that he was never on a team that ever had a chance of winning anything. He was traded to a great Orlando team but that was in his 11th season. Far past his prime.

Hey that brought a lot of fans in canada like myself into it. We didn't have cable just 2 free channels on an antenna so we were able to see nba on cbc or ctv on Saturdays or sundays it was Vancouver Grizzlies with big country Reeves and Sharif abdur raheem big woopty do and then mike bibby but vince on Toronto raptors on the weekends was something to stay home on the mornings for he even took them to the playoffs I even have a giant poster of his between the legs dunk in dunk contest. Yeah his second year was just awesome... too bad mcgrady didn't blossom under that coaching they could have really had a solid team for a long time

What can you say about VC?? A dynamic, phenomenal player from year one to the end and the greatest to ever throw down the rock. Easily the best player to come out of Canada as well. He wasn't necessary a record breaker or maker, but that wasn't his game. He wasn't chasing stats, he chased trophies with his TEAM like the true GOATs do. I have him as my 6th man on my personal all time starting lineup. Based on the energy and team effort he brought to the court. He was one of those rare talents that could single handedly turn the tide of a game. 🤘
