"Peter Chadwick, who murdered his wife at their home in Newport Beach, California, was on the run when we first told the story of the manhunt for him. But he knew authorities were closing in on him - because, as we later found out when he was caught, he watched our '48 Hours' from his hiding place!" - Tracy Smith on why the story is important.

Please rethink Tracy Smith as an interviewer. She's too over the top and why does she have to repeat everything everyone says??? 'You mean he stopped here?' 'You mean it was a suitcase full of men's clothes!?' "You mean he watched us on 48 hours..you mean he saw us??? You said he watched us on TV?' Good god, that's what the man said.

How about putting more ad's on??
Was there ever a reason given for this horrible crime?? Life insurance??

15 years and he is eligible for parole?!! Honestly that is obscene. He killed her, threw her away like trash, lied to the police (false report) about what happened and fled (abandoning his kids). Seriously, who did he pay off for that sweet deal?
lawyers (liars) probably paid millions by defendant sad to say.
@@duckmangooo7376 yup..gross
He was 58 when he was sentenced, he will be eligible for parole at 73. They are going to parole him if and when he terminally ill so the state can get out of providing him with the medical care associated with being elderly. Just because he is eligible for parole at 15 years doesn’t mean he is going to get it. Usually a parole board wants an admission of guilt, and years of remorse.
Orange County court are very corrupt.. it’s disgusting. It’s all about money and connections. My mother n laws husband got kidnapped by his own son made his father sign all his pov and money to him. Paid a bunch of lawyers in Orange County that were connected to the judge. He put his father in a nursing home. And he got away with this. Gave around 200k to lawyers n court kept the rest. And he’s still trying to take my mother n law to court she’s 87. It’s his step son. She’s widowed the husband died in the nursing home 3 months later his own son put him in there when he kidnapped him from his own home with my mother n law.
In 15 years he will be denied parole. He spent 5 years on the run evading capture. They won't let him out in 15, he is going to die in prison.

Rich or not, killing and dumping someone's body in a trash dumpster shows the amount of hate you have in your heart. Chad the devil, didn't want or love his family at all.
Sad story, my deepest condolences.
You are saying it is a Chad behavior?
They say if a man loves the children, then he loves the wife. Conversely, if he doesn't love the children, then he doesn't love the wife. The fact that he murdered her and deposited her body in a dumpster says he was very angry with her. The fact he abandoned the 3 sons says he didn't love her. It seems that when he married her, she was young, pretty, and depended on him, but in time, she evolved, became independent, and looked like a Mom. His mistake, with all his money, was he didn't just divorce her. He could have given her and the kids the house and provided alimony until the kids were grown and she married someone else. He would have made out better than living in some remote Mexican town without his passports, on the run, and bussing tables. Make it make sense.

I feel for their children because they lost both parents due to no fault of their own.
Away at boarding school...piano lessons... camp in the summer...all the latest electronics and off to your room. They didn't lose their parents to begin with. They lost their MUM. )The dad ignored them. He took on the shy persona to avoid revealing his finances and double life. Spouses, don't let the devil know you are leaving, and will reveal their crimes. Grandpa knows all.
So so sad😭😭😭😭

Ain’t gonna get no sympathy from me…
Did you hear the panic in his voice? Yeah me either.
He was caught ages ago and should have received a much longer sentence. I appreciate these uploads though these episodes aren't new. Keep them coming. Great Job!
Yeah. I had completely forgotten about this case, and didn't even know the outcome. Glad it has ended well.
He was caught in 2019. Not so long ago.
How long did he get,
Nope, not new evil but still evil.
Oh yay, "the brown person did it." Always warms my heart to hear this oldie but goodie.
Thanks for the video 48 hours 🌹
I like the ‘no nonsense’ neighbor, she knows what’s up.
Ultimately it was about money. He didn't want to pay alimony.
Whoever invented the idea that alimony should be based upon the husband's income has caused much death in this world

🔸 In the beginning of the video,
it's stated that q.c.
came to America
not knowing English,
& "determined to make it".
🔹About 8 minutes later,
it's revealed
that she came from
a wealthy family
& was attending
Arizona State University.
Anyone who thinks if youre rich you gotta also be smart needs to meet this guy.
Rich people are some of the dumbest mfers on the planet because being rich makes them feel entitled and better than everyone else not realizing the only reason people let him get away with so much is because they're rich. Creating this kind of self fulfilling prophecy.
So we basically ran and came up with the stupidest story ever and still gets only 15 years to life.
LET'S HOPE HE'S IN THERE MUCH LONGER AS IT'S 15 - LIFE!
I'M SURE HE'LL PLAY THE SYSTEM & BEHAVE THOUGH SO I CAN'T PREDICT, BUT WHAT I DO KNOW IS, EHEN HIS LIFE IS FINALLY OVER, HE'LL BE AT THE DEVIL'S DOOR & NOT THE GATES OF HEAVEN.
haha always the way
Surprise he did anytime .
I don’t think he’s tough enough to last 15-20 years.
@Tiwonna Sims yeah, usually people that are in a higher tax bracket are treated quite differently than the working poor.
As a AMC Crime TV channe's follower and having seen several CZcams's crime channels, I can only confirm that 48 Hours tops the best true crime channels by far
48 hours should be way better than any home made you tube crime shows it's been on prime time American tv for about 30 years and has a huge budget and very well paid producers, presenters etc.
