I’ll pay him whatever he wants for the lot, I’ll be right over with my cashiers check!
Love to have one
📻 radiotvphononut he's an expert Rcord player, what a collection
@@danhorton6182 I’m sure he’s already received an offer from a rich Ethiopian prince who will send him a cashiers check for $10,000 and he can send back $5,000 and keep the rest for himself.

Thanks for the kind words and you are absolutely correct, I'm in the absolute worst geographic location for this sort of thing. With that said, if I was close to him or if he was close to me, we'd try to work out a deal. Here, I could have all of those 100% restored and try to sell the whole lot for $200 and a flea market flipper would offer me $50, and then I'd say something ugly. As far as shipping, I just mailed a '50's kiddie record player within the state and it was boxed as small as I could get it and have it arrive safely, and it was a few cents shy of $40.
I have the same problem with classic cars all the good stuff is too far. How good are the Westinghouse and Trav-ler records players? Kinda like the Westinghouse H86ACS1.
@@cipherthedemonlord8057 I'm pretty sure the Westinghouse is a "one tube wonder" and the TravLer might also be the same. The biggest issue with those is they require a 3 volt crystal cartridge and those have not been made in decades. If you're lucky enough to find a NOS cartridge that is still good, it's probably going to be expensive and your only other options are to install a modern 0.5V ceramic cartridge and live with very low volume, or build a preamp circuit to boost the cartridge output up to 3V.
@@radiotvphononut Thanks for the info.
@@radiotvphononut You could hide the preamp inside an old capacitor.
Oh boy. A radiotvphononut special. I'll have to watch this right now before my daily mandatory education.
My parents got my sister , my brother , and I two different PHILCO STEREO RECORD CHANGERS with
"S AND H GREEN STAMPS" in the early 1960's . My brother and I shared one and this one had speakers
that were both removable . My sister's record changer had only one removable speaker . My mother and
two of her sisters would combine their "S AND H GREEN STAMPS" books for different members of the
family .We were all teenaged "baby boomers" and that was great ! I still remember that they were the
tube - type sets that used the "60FX5" tube . These were like the TV's at the time where you would have
to wait about a minute for the tubes to warm up before you could hear any sound .
Wow! Until now I had totally forgotten these record players existed. Memories are coming back now. I recall my sister had a suitcase record player with a detachable speaker snapped to it for stereo. I also remember friends having these too. My interests back then were listening to AM radio for my entertainment. Gee, 60 years goes by pretty fast.
Shang,That was nice of you to help the guy find a home for those record players by posting a link to his ad here. It also helps out us fellow collectors. I’ve always liked portable record players too. I was hoping he might have a VM model 577,there are some nice ones in there, and according to the seller in the video there are 30 or so more that didn’t appear in the video
I am pretty much a record player person myself. There is a few really really good ones in that pile I see a brown Columbia 360 in a leather case. Definitely the ones with the VM 1200 record Changers and push-pull amplifiers would definitely be worth restoring. That round Emerson that looks like a ladies hair dryer I actually have that in Black. Definitely definitely a lot of good stuff in that pile. I can also tell you there is a Motorola 3 channel in that pile and a gray case. Now I noticed there are no 45 players in that pile these are all three speed and 4-speed phonographs. RADIOTVPHONONUT would have every one of these running and perfect mint condition.
Record player heaven. Definitely a market for them. Here in the UK these would sell like hot cakes
This collection just took me back fifty years when he swung around and showed the grey/white Westinghouse with the tone/volume knobs! I had the exact same one in my bedroom, bought from my elementary school at a thrift sale for a dollar. It had a two tube amp (35W4 and 50C5 if memory serves) and a BSR UA15 four speed turntable. I played the crap out of it for years. Nice haul. I never saw so many in one place.
Beautiful! I can smell the burning lint and feel the vibrations. The real heavy ones have good sized amps for a great bumping time.
This must be the world record for most portable record players in one location. I've never seen anything like it!
I dont have any old suitcase ones anymore used to have a couple but boy is this tempting..
Good choice. Those old school phonographs are cool.
That's one hell of a collection. :)
Pretty cool. Back in the day almost every family had one if they didn't have the $ for a stereo console. We had an RCA portable. Expensive for tubes these days as 35w4 and 50c5 are getting expensive.
I can smell that old record player smell from here.
The RCA Stereo Orthophonics are worth having. The Webcor stuff should be good too.
My jaw dropped seeing all of those record players in one spot…
Now that is a lot of portable record players! Never seen so many in one place!
It would be nice to get two or three of them and send to RTPN. Last fall when his camera conked out, I sent him my old camera which he uses now. Just doing my part to help out.
I thank you again and the camera is working great. I also wound up with one just like the one I had that broke.
That Trav-ler is the most interesting to me, due to superior condition. Woweeeeeee. What a MASSIVE collection. Yes that Emerson either is a makeup case or a hat box. 😃
I'm glad you mentioned Brian or Bryan. If I had the resources (which I regret I don't) I'd pay the freight sending them to him.
That's very nice of you and as far as shipping all of those, it would likely cost a small fortune.
@@radiotvphononut Maybe it's for the best. You've mentioned how hard it is to sell an old record player locally, and you have not had a lot of luck with UPS or FedEx.
What's so cool about these types of suitcase record players to me is, every single one of them is a slightly different design that does basically the same thing, but you can tell at some point in the design process some dude sat down with a piece of paper and a pencil, and just drew some crazy ass design with a few knobs on it, and a slightly different shape, and some different colors than you would expect, and then it got approved! It's just so cool how every single one of them has a slightly different look. I've got about 10 of them myself, it's hard to resist the damn things when you see them for sale somewhere!
That round Emerson case reminds me of the old Sunbeam base hairdryer cases.
I used to live in California, and I was never able to find any old record players to work on… Now I know where they all were
those RCA othophonics are quite common here in Italy too, the italian made version has a grey-white cabinet, plaid pattern speaker grill cloth, a BSR changer and locally sourced electronics and speakers
Midweek Shango!
What i wouldn't give to go through those love the Columbias
As a young man here in Dublin Ireland 🙂🇮🇪🍀 sitting in a mates house listening too records on a very similar unit to these. Great Memories.
At a second hand shop I found two of what I thought were wood suitcase record players, and they ended up being reel to reel tape recorders! LOL
Even better!
@@oldradiosnphonographs I think they are 'Fleetwood' brand. They are certainly old tape recorders to be styled like these record players. I'll have to dig them out. Maybe something used by a school ?
@@LakeNipissing don’t think I’ve heard of that brand before. I do know some tape recorders flipped down like record players would and have fold out speakers.
That red and white Columbia 360 is a good player.
I'd take the round one. It's 1 out of 100! Ain't never seen one before.
I haven't seen one like he was taking home since I graduated high school. Those bring back memories.
I've got a Newcomb just like that one.
Got it for $15 30 year's ago, still works perfect.
I purchased a couple of these and restored all wiring and electrical and re wrapped in leather
Dang what a collection.
radiotvphononut needs these!
Would love to be there having a look at these record players.
I still use Craigslist. Not every ad is a scam.
Time tripping. Excellent
I think the round one in the beginning is pretty cool!
There's a 2 cabinet Admiral stereo portable in the right most stack bottom and the third stack from the right second up (you can tell because they look identical). Those Admirals are AWESOME (I have a complete 2 piece unit). They have a PP 6BQ5 stereo console grade amp loud enough to fill an entire house with music. **Both units need to be kept together.** One cabinet is the speakers (they separate from each other when the case is open), and the other cabinet is the changer and amp (without speakers).
What size are the speakers in the Admiral 2 piece portable speaker enclosures? I haven’t seen that model before, but it sound impressive. Do you know the model number so I can look it up? I know Motorola made some decent 3 channel portables, one even has “vibrasonic”,those are pretty good sounding units too.
@@Suddenlyits1960 Its a model Y4067. I don't know the speaker size because I have never opened the speaker enclosures. I was wrong about it being a PP amp. Its SE 6BQ5. It has 5 tubes 2x 6BQ5, 2x 12AX7, and a 5Y3.
If you're familiar with the videokarma vintage TV forums there's a thread there with pictures of mine from when I got it and some other goodies at Radiofest before the plandemic hit....Sadly Shango turned off links in his comments so I can't link it. (previous reply attempts got deleted because of this annoying setting)
@@tomcarlson3913 Thanks Tom,Ill have to check it out.
Nice show! Enjoyed watching.
I agree, the Newcomb seems to be the pick of the litter. Probably 2X's 6V6, 5Y3, and a 12AX7.
Actually, that particular one is solid state (early-to-mid '70's), but it's still built like a tank and will be a good sounding record player. Newcomb never made junk.
@@radiotvphononut Yeah, you're correct. I re-watched the video. Then I saw it written there next to the turntable "solid state". I thought, "duh, it's solid state". LOL.. But, as you said Newcomb didn't make junk. I still say it's the pick of the litter from what I could see.
The mother of all tube type suitcase record player collections.
SUPER GOOD.
Wish I could be there. Greetings from Germany
I'd be like a kid in a candy store...while panning the camera I saw an old friend 😢
Wow, it's like all the classrooms in my elementary school system got together and gave up all their record players.
my high school library had stacks like that selling $10 each when they switched to cassette tape
That had to be in the 6o's!
@@captainamericaamerica8090 1986 they were clearing out supply rooms getting ready for destruction of our high school for the new one being built i was tempted to get a few & million old projectors but got some lockers chairs doors instead wish i would have grabbed the big world wall maps. the contractors dumped all the rubbish in a big landfill just down the road from me
What a find!
I think RTPN is drooling right now. Do we start a gofundme to get these all shipped out to MS?
Ship 'em all out, poorly boxed :)
I can't even joke about that.
Would be cool to find a trucker around this channel who trips fron so cal to miss often.
That is an insane amount of old recond players.
As a guy who lives in Mississippi also, I’d love to have some of these!
I'm a Newcomb fanboy,, really strong products made nearby in Hollywood :) That's a super group of phonos, for sure.
I look at Craigslist a lot but rarely follow up on anything, although I am still living with a hot woman I met via CL in 2005 !
I saw the title and all I could think of was "RADIO-TV-PHONONUT"
It's cool that someone loved the 'form factor' of the suitcase radio, enough to amass a vast collection probably at a time when everyone else was 'binning their examples'.
I am the same with the 1970's 'music centres' that 10 or 20 years ago people just left out with the trash.
Each to his own but I can't really see the point of having a collection of 'smart phones' !
Drawer full of old phones turn into VINTAGE COLLECTION in 20 years
@@1marcelfilms Some of the old “brick” phones are already selling for over $500 because people collecting classic cars from that period (80’s and early 90’s) want them as accessories for car shows.
That's a significant collection alright, and in good shape like you say. Hope he makes a couple bucks on 'em.
that round Emerson must be really appealing as you opened it twice.
I can see tadiotvphononut salivating through the monitor
Raidotvphononut would have a field day
I have the same one with the wobbly base. Little rubber feet with springs on them for vibration reduction
Hey 👋, Shango066, this looks 👀 like 👍 Grandma’s 👵 attic, or something, or a basement find!! I’d get all those!! I bet that a majority of these are tube type. Record players, radios 📻, them do not look 👀 bad. Even if every single one ☝️ can’t be saved, they can be parts sets. Your friend, Jeff.
Man I wish I could get my hands on one of those record players when I'm back home in L.A even though the record player may not work and that I'll need the required and proper stuff to restore it.
I was really digging the round leather suitcase Emerson record player
I have a few Newcombs myself and they are worth the $$ due to them being tough as nails. Lot of cool stuff in that huge pile though.
Newcomb pretty much stayed first class until the end. The only thing I didn't like about the later ones was the plastic tonearm lock that always breaks. At least they never used plastic tonearms, plastic platters, and cheap DC motors like some of the others did.
My first record player was suitcase ...was brand made in the uk during 1960's
Radiotvphononut's paradise!
If these were vintage guitar amps, this guy would be on easy street.
I wish RTVPN could have these.
It's the Old Phonograph Graveyard. ⚰️
Now that’s record playing around! I heard two is one and one is none but in this case, two hundred is one hundred and one hundred is five.
Nice cache, your lucky dog. I'm jealous.
Why not have R.T.P Nut out for two weeks, get the sets, get em running and split the profits? That would make for some entertaining content, and like you said, a pretty penny from a prop house or collector
Those look like old record record players taken from schools. I remember some of these from when I was in school.
I check the local craigslist at least a few times a week. I also have some email notifications set for some searches. It's still pretty active.
I'd definitely buy some too if I could !!.
Craigslist is still pretty popular here in the northeast. I find a lot of good stuff there and run into few bad actors.
Beautiful thank you kiss Brazil thank
Typical collecting addiction. I'm impressed.
I see two of a Magnavox stereo my family had.
And people say I hoard this stuff! 😂 That Newcomb is a nice choice especially for playing 78s!
You found radiotvphononut's basement
I need to show this to my wife, makes me look like less of a hoarder
Radiotvphononut will go bananas when he sees all of these suitcase record players He has more record players than Carters got liver pills!!!!
Whoa!!! overwhelming!
I have a really nice webcore certified high Fidelity that works very well
Holy cow!! I'd be interested in some of them!!
I almost bought a Dansette Junior yesterday but I got cold feet cos I thought it needed too much work 🙄
My parents owned the one underneath the player you're taking. 50's or early 60's.
IMO: box truck full, 500$ takes all! business opportunity
If "Radiotvphononut" was there he'd probably think he'd died and went to Heaven .
Radiotvphononut Special!
WOW! THAT'S QUITE A COLLECTION OF VINTAGE RECORD PLAYERS!
impressed by the "stackability"
fakebook marketplace can suck it. Craigslist for the win.
I JUST WANT 2 OR 3 TO RESTORE. NO MORE ROOM FOR ALL THAT.
More record *players* than some people have *records*.
OK kids, no lesson today, we are just going to listen to a record, because the teacher has a headache.
Nice bunch. Thought that one with radio would be something for Shango to give a go. a tat far for me to get though lol
