The plastic ones are lighter. Check if you don't believe me. Everyone I know replaced the suspension system with MSA because the stock one is uncomfortable AF.

I painted mine white for this reason and if u don’t like the suspension system, use the one from MSA. It’s lighter and lots of people prefer it. But the hard hat itself from Dax is better hands down. I’ve had several of both

He didn’t show you but his liner already broke just like mine, there’s a thin plastic head piece that hits the back of the head that falls off immediately. He won’t tell you it pulls your hair when you take it off every single time
and how the leather forehead band cuts into your forehead
o.o I just shove a torn up t-shirt to cover the leather pieces/harness to prevent that. Basically the size of a welder cap/beanie but originally meant for hygienic reasons until I noticed my hair not getting torn out
Lol facts! I replaced my suspension 2x. Going on 3 because not only did that back plastic break on both, but leather starts to flake off after a few washes because it retains he sweat smell lol.
Been working pipeline and refineries for almost two decades. Never have I seen a plastic hard hat break. Maybe the suspension. But never the hard hat. I have read horrible reviews on these. Was going to buy one but I may stick with the og fiberglass hard hats.

OSHA does not have an expiration date on hard hats. The manufacturer may have one. Lift does have a manufacturers date at the center of the dome. Hard hats must be inspected before use and if they don’t pass inspection they must be removed from service. Check with your manufacturer for recommended life of your hard hat.
I think Oceangate tested your carbon fiber vs steel theory. Don’t think it went very well. 😂
Purchased one, very disappointed. Pulls my hard out from the bushings in the left and right. Shaved my head because of this now the wife is pissed I shaved my head.

As someone who wears one of these everyday? I didn’t pay a dime for it but it’s still not worth it.
They are pretty cool. But really expensive. And somewhat conductive so not good for electricians, or linemen.
Not conductive at all for most trades in general if you working outside and we not paying 250$ either

Nope. Not true. I’ve weighed them side by side. Even lighter if u swap the Dax liner for the msa liner because the Dax liner is a bit heavier
All I can say about lift hard hats if something heavy falls it's going to break and if something heavy falls your neck is probably going to be broken but your hard hat wall so be broken they are thin shity and brittle and break easy I know from several co-workers who have complained

Also the harness only last a year at best if you want to deal with bending the tabs to have tension on the rivets

Just bought the matte black baseball cap lift hard hat. Chips super easy. Save your money tell lift pulls it together.
Bro my Walmart hard hat has literally fallen off scissor lifts to the ground in a warehouse and hasn’t even so much as cracked. Bro just go to Walmart y’all always wanna do too much
@@toxicity6629 a company came in and for a premium has promised to protect us better than the other brands. They lied blatantly to our faces but if you have the cash then why not try it? Some of these trades are paying great money and this hard hat purchase was as hard hitting on their pocket books as a normal 9 to 5 guy heading to cost co for toilet paper. It’s a status symbol hard hat that hopefully we will look back on and laugh at.
Go with a Wavecell. Safer, stronger, and slightly cheaper👍🏻

Garbage drop it once and the cheap thin metal tabs that hold the liner in bend and fall out constantly. Also the damn thing squeaks with every step u take
