Nah they will see the suppressor!
The sound is enough to blow their ear drums out
I've found using some lube on my erector makes them go in easier with a lot less effort and noise.
gotta carry it around with the suppressor(s) on the barrel lol
Not only is it quiet, it's also very hard to miss your target when the end of the barrel is mere inches away from it!
Definitely one of the best comments here
Your comment is at 69 likes. I must not change that. But it's a very funny comment!
But is that the "end of the barrel" tho aka the muzzle or is it a long way from it
He bout to hit them point blank 😂😂
🤣🤣
Remember, with the Erector 69 you need to make sure you have permits for multiple States because the moment you point that thing you will probably cross multiple Borders.
If after shooting no bullet exits the barrel, it does not necessarily mean a misfire, do not watch down the barrel remember that it takes the Bullet some time before it reaches the end of the barrel (a bullet only travels at around the speed of sound after all). Sometime a bullet might not come out at all since it probably gets lost on the way!
Erector 69 sounds weird
"A bullet only travels at the speed of sound" isn't the speed of sound on the slower side for bullet travel speed? Please inform me.
I hate when my bullet gets lost while traveling. It must have missed that left at Albuquerque.
@@EdyAlbertoMSGT3 I think you missed the point of the joke....
@@Dkgow yeah, it was supposed to go strait past Albuquerque. if its making a left, you got a bigger problem, which would be baffling to see.
I love the thought that you avoid detection with super silent shots, then instantly give away your position when you unscrew the suppressor. Squeeeeeek.
The giggling also probably wouldn't help.
The subtitles said it was music lol

Took an unintentional break from your videos, 1 year later, its still like the first time i saw you. Magical.

5ft of suppressor finally gets you the quiet levels that the movies try to make you believe they give you!
subsonic, that is.
@@acctsys yeah any decent suppressor running subsonic rounds is going to be ridiculously quiet, still hard to match the movie quietness tho unless you’re shooting a silenced 22/22lr with subsonic rounds

I kept hoping Matt would prop-up the suppressors, level them (perhaps with a tripod or something), and see how accurate and quiet they could be manipulated to shoot.
I love how Matt always says “Place your bets in the comments below!” like he expects us to do it, but no one ever does. Matt, this is for you. I bet that the suppressor doesn’t break.

I think most ppl know that creators ask for comments to boost the video in the algorithms. Kind of like when they put those stupid text things on screen for half a second , ppl then rewind a bunch of times and pause = higher video retention = boosted stats for the algo = higher views.

@@keikenxfe2proalt434 XCOM style
Those segments do a pretty good job at suppressing the pops. Thanks for sharing, Matt.
The only negative thing to that system is that ear-splitting/fingernails-raking-across-a-chalkboard screechy sound that happens when the segments screw together. A bit of pre-lubing of the segment's threads should be fine at silencing that noise during the suppressor's screwing-together process.
Came back to watch this again. 2:35 is just... spectacular.
I saw this suggestion in a previous video and I thought “man I hope he tries that”. Matt never disappoints
Same I wished too
If you rested the supressor on a flat surface (like a long table) it should eliminate the curve in the suppressor.
Yea but it would probably still have accuracy issues.. Having the barrel (or suppressor attached to the barrel) rest of anything throws off the point of impact. That's why all rifles now days have free float barrels.
That's what she said 😅

The good thing about this suppressor is that you can't miss. It's so long that it's practically in the enemy's face.
Quiet _and_ accurate!
A Hitman’s dream!
"whats this hollow rebar doing here??"
Why use a laser when you can have a 10 ft suppressor?
If you permanently attach enough of those sections to bring the barrel up to 16" you don't have to worry about the ATF's new pistol brace rule and you can just put a stock on it
Pin and weld it 😅
Well with the way things are going in court right now, you probably won't ever have to worry about their new "rule". They've been getting their a$$es handed to them in court for months now on pretty much every case people bring against them 🤣
There's a reason ATF don’t try to fuck with lawyers
Good idea. So you're STILL filling out ATF forms for the silencer and then waiting a year or two instead of the like 30 days to get a form 1 done for an SBR. You showed em.

He's still wholesome tho
You should have gotten a decibel reader to see if the additional suppressors actually made it even quieter
you can hear it get quieter for sure, but it would’ve been dope to see by how much
My guess is that any of the suppressors that were getting hot/warm were still having an effect (and slowing/dissipating the gases) but anything past that didn't. Also, I think it would have been interesting to have done a supersonic vs subsonic comparison at each of the different lengths (though given he wasn't even sure if it would work, I can get why he didn't).
That’s exactly what I was thinking
@@hkfifty871 At a certain point, the muzzle blast would be completely suppressed, and all you'd hear is the action
Even with a BUNCH of suppressors, there’s probably some upper bound on how much decibel reduction you can obtain, and I doubt it would be enough to totally suppress the muzzle blast. Though I’d certainly love to see someone try.
I love the eye contact with the squeaking. You had me laughing, so freaking hard.
Wow, you sure have a long one! I hope it's fully functional. They all droop when they're too long. If yours is bigger I wanna see it. I don't think the extra baffles made it much quieter. I wish you had checked the velocity at the same time. Nice to see you. Good video. Pax.

I cannot believe that you went through all that and didn't shoot a single 22 sub. Can you imagine how quiet that would have been?
Exactly what I was thinking!
The 22 was having issues with the regular rounds.
My thoughts
@@r3dp9 bro it’s a bolt action, it would cycle.
The issue with that is that it would 100% get stuck in the barrel/suppressor. Typically the max barrel length you should use .22 subs in is around 24 inches.
Thanks for the excellent video, I really needed a laugh today.
U need to 3d print supports for the suppressor or something to stop the droop
I think the reason you only got the baffle strike while holding it is cause when it was tied down, the barrel wasn't swaying. However, when you held it, natural slight bodily movements happened causing the suppressor to sway while the bullet was shooting causing the baffle to get struck. This would actually be a pretty cool idea to completely silence a .50 bmg if you had supports to keep the suppressor from swaying.
Can you get subsonic.05 cal bmg bullets?

I’d be curious to see what happens to bullet velocity if measured with a chronograph as the suppressor gets longer and longer
this is what i'm wondering.
We're on the same wavelength, the more you suppress the less velocity you gain.
Also see how quiet you can get it. Using a hanger or barrel support so it doesn’t droop as much.
@@thehuntertyranni7497 yeah having that many baffles is gonna slow round down, and little .22 isn't gonna be going faster anymore, I suspect the .22 was dropping below supersonic and is why it got quieter
When matt touched the baffles and some of them where "cold", thats the point of diminishing returns. All the energy you lose from sound and velocity is converted to heat in a supressor. Shooting from a rest - no problem. Handheld, the rifle is moving, and so is the end of the suppressor. If it's vibrating when you pull the trigger, of course you'll get a baffle strike. If you shot from a tripod or shooting sticks, and waited for the suppressor to stop oscillating, you'd probably avoid a strike even handheld.
