fascinatingly enough, historically, maces were almost a sort of *counter* to armor because it crushes rather than cuts, so Mojang adding an enchantment centered around *that exactly* is honestly super cool attention to detail
Its still strange that we can enchant the mace, a blunt weapon, with sharpness
@@maucs5627 likely a bug, but even then, flanged maces exist (which was basically sticking like 8 pointed blades in a circular shape around the shaft)
@@mechanical_eyes127 nah bro, too many features, they can't afford that

I'm waiting for the moment someone tries to jump from a high place by killing an enderman with a mace in a hardcore world and the enderman teleports away in time so they lose the world, it will happen one day...
Totems: 🫥🫥🫥
Someone likely wouldnt do that on a hardcore world with a creatyre that teleportslol
🤔
Always carry totems. Totems are easy to obtain by doing village raids. I set up traps for this so I never have to fight any mobs other than allays.
That would be so funny! It may happen even if it doesn't teleport just saying
So you're telling me I can have a Gravity Hammer and Rocket Jumper in my hotbar soon? Hell yeah
we can finally make grifball!
Finally some Halo features!
Not just in the hotbar. In. The. Same. Slot.
The mace better be a Gravity Hammer in the Halo Mashup Pack

The existence of the Ominous Bottles and where you can find them might suggest a connection between the illagers and the Trial Chambers to some degree.
And the trial chamber has a similar aesthetic with the gale sanctum (Built by Villagers) suggesting a connection between humans, illagers, and villagers
@@tapgames3465 There's also mob faces built into the walls of one of the Trail Chamber rooms, similar to the weird mob head/statue rooms in the Woodland Mansions.

One new way they could improve an old feature is to add pots with loot in them much like the trial chamber into old structures like desert temples and jungle temples. Something similar to this was done with the hidden room in desert temples
Yoyoyoyo yes! Also those coffins with mummies. You would also have to kill the mummy to get the loot.

i comepletly agree that would be awsome
I’m thinking that it’s better they revamp the structure itself as it’s pretty underwhelming, especially the build of the temples themselves could be made better

The oozing potion is really good for farms. Take a standard mob farm, splash in some ooze, now you will also get slime balls. No need to find slime chunks anymore.
But you need a full block of slime before you can get oozing
@@RomanGamerYT0 You only need one. Crowd a few mobs together, splash, kill them, kill the slimes that they spawn, and now you have more than enough to make some more ooze.

@@ShortArtGuy Still mad they nerfed that
I hope it lets you climb up cobwebs too!
I hope they decide to let players move through the webs faster too with the effect
Btw for people who don't know, wind burst doesn't actually require you to fall first in order to activate. You don't need to use a wind charge like toycat does here, you can just hit an enemy from ground level and it'll launch you. And similar to a wind charge, it adds this to your current vertical speed, so if you jump and then hit something it'll send you flying with the mace alone
Oh that last part is crazy and I can’t wait to try that, I do wish the enchant had the fall damage negation part to it too tho, wonder if they’ll change that or if thats considered too broken

I feel like with the ominous potion, it is probably the best chance to add the illusioner.
OMG Yes, it would be perfect for ominous woodland mansion
Mojang probably forgot about It already sadly
Even better if they just flat-out aren’t mentioned on the change log. They’re just silently dropped and a reverse-gaslight ensues.
The ultimate illusion.
No no you have a point
Didn't it get a update in 1.19 or 1.20?
If the trial chambers are meant to replayed over and over, shouldn't regular vaults be reusable and the ominous vaults keep the single use restriction? Otherwise, that seems to defeat the purpose of the structure and just leaves the player with excess keys.
Yea, I got 32 extra basically useless keys, rip
I absolutely agree
What could be cool is an NPC who trades keys at different amounts for trial drops?
Maybe they should implement something like being able to smelt the excess keys down into a copper ingot or something. They are kind of pointless once the vaults have been used.
Dont give them ideas, they already nerfed raid farms with the potions......
1.21 is one of the best updates since 1.16
Yesss and people where so upset at the beginning
Remove one of, the most important piece of the puzzle are placed in near perfection.
You are right but then again the bar is very very low since 1.16 was the last complete update to be added
@@YgramNolles 1.17-1.19 were also good updates in my opinion. I think the main issue was parity. Java struggles enough to get barely 24 chunks. So while bedrock could easily revamp world gen. While Bedrock is having issues with adding the bundle due to mobile controls, while Java easily added it.
Plus it’s a sandbox game, the game doesn’t really need updates I’m just happy we get them for over a decade old game
@@Plaegu I only play Java edition and I get it might have taken a month longer to work out, they have nearly unlimited budget and more people working on just java then most game studios. and 1.19 ended up having 1 tree, a frog and the anciënt city which they've been working on for 2 years! all of which are great fun, but it ended up being just another place to find horse armor. most things added are good extra features but just not amazing.
I now see why renewable cobwebs is hype
they look pretty cool and have some uses for farms
And the trident i saw you get on stream was nuts, trident grind is going to become less terrible
This is actually wild. 1.21 seemed fine when announced during the Mob Vote but it's becoming on par with 1.16!!

even it they went through with the combat changes, it still doesn't compare. Yeah the trial chambers are very good, but realistically that's the only new thing you will do after the update (and enjoy the new tuff and copper blocks). The Nether Update kept you playing with new content much longer and had more new blocks to build with. Im kinda disappointed they didn't change combat more. Maybe there is still a chance for stackable potions and off-hand in bedrock, but I won't expect it anymore (also fletching table wtf?). Also, where is the "tinkering" part of the update? There is literally only one new block for this and that's the autocrafter, which has only very niche uses. If these are all new features coming, this update only gets a 4 out of 10 from me.
The Nether Update gets a certain 10 out of 10, the best update they ever released in my opinion. But considering that this is a smaller update, like 1.20, I would consider giving it a 5.5 out of 10 at max.
Everyone is gangsta
Until mojang add the ominous shrieker and the ominous warden

Credit where credit is due, kudos and bravo Mojang, finally what feels like a step in the right direction 👍
I feel like the new potions could be incredibly interesting for pvp including dogs. Imagine having a dog army that explodes with wind charges when they die, or spawn cobwebs, and slimes as well. On top of this the increased health of the dog will make it so infestation means something with them.
Fighting someone's army of infested dogs sounds like it will get really bad really fast!

I personally think the blocked off 'entrance' looking door is kinda like something you can break through to make your own staircase up to the surface for easier access into the chambers, does anyone else have any other ideas of what it might be supposed to represent?
I assumed it was going to be similar to the stronghold starting staircase (which is what the ender eyes point to) but that doesn't really make sense if we're getting a map
wouldve been cool to have a 3x3 piston door there. I think mojang should add more redstone devices in the world gen to teach people how to make them
Love this new snapshot. I think the OG dungeons should be revamped a little to fit with this update's themes, like you said the ominous effect could amp up older/other structures

It will be a complete missed opportunity if Mojang doesn’t add Illusioners to the ominous trial spawners
Yea. That would be so interesting to fight against. Like imagine fighting a blue trial spawner and then you are tasked with a mini-boss fight / new challenge to help the mobs. That would be lit.
But they should reduce the blindness effect range too
They should add a fire wave enchantment to the mace, where it sets mobs on fire in a certain radius when connecting a hit
Yes it should be if you put fire aspect on it, which you already can, you get this Instead
The herobrine face is a bogged bro.

I really didn't think this update was going to be good, but its turning out to be the best update in years!
Well if there are no new features coming and considering the fact that mojang makes very ideal and sensible tweaking updates nowadays ( except not giving dog and horse armour enchants I still really want that ! ) they're probably going to add as a sort of tweak that the map to find the trial chambers leads to exactly the entrance room . Honestly it's such an obvious idea there's no way it wasn't they're intention all along with it having beds to set your spawn and being called the entrance room .
Doesn't it already?
Yeah the reason why the ominous trial didn't start at first is because you need to be on sight of the spawner. Blocks now block you from activating trial spawners, this is so that trials don't start if you're in a different room than the spawner.
why didnt they use the thick potion or Mundane potion as the base for the potions?
Tbh we shouldn't complicate recipes until we get a proper ingame guidance
because it would be confusing
@@ineophobe I feel it wouldn't, as it would separate the player potions from mob potions.
@@bencraft1883 you could argue the negative ones are mob potions so couldn't they just use fermented spider eye
Chiseled bookshelves should display the name of the book that is on the shelf. You cannot use them as a library as they are now because you can’t tell which book is which just from looking at them. Hovering your courser over the book should bring up a tool tip or something that displays the name of the book.
Nether fortresses could be made to have trial vaults and spawners.
Mabye the hovering inferno could be brought in for the ominous variant? (Sadly, wildfire will never see the light of day)
Now the advancement "How did we get here?" has become a little bit easier with the ominous bottle
It depends on whether you need to have raid omen and trial omen on you too, although I doubt it
There’s 4 new potions, it got way harder lol
I hope they make all the enchantments exclusive to the chamber, it would keep players coming back to the vaults
The mace is definitely going to be incredibly OP in servers. A weapon that goes through 60% of armor and can one-shot an enderman from 8 blocks? What could *Possibly* go wrong?
The face you see on the trial chamber wall now looks more like that of the bogged, to me anyway. Also, I predict what will ultimately end up behind that door is a big and mean golem made of copper or tuff or both. One part to act as a final trial and one part as revenge for folks not choosing it in previous mob votes.
The way they finally removed raid farms with just a bottle 😂 rip to the hardcore raid abusers
java players just not updating their game:
Nope they are just gonna add an auto brewer to make them into splash potions and then dispense them onto the player
Or they still work you just need drink the bottle and it still will be a lot slower
No rip needed, this doesn't really change much in that regard 🤷
Plus, like the other guy said, they can just not update, or they can make a mod to fix it if it's that much of a problem.
But as far as i can tell they'll still be able to get plenty of totems pretty easily, it's like a mild inconvenience at worst.
They could actually find a way to make it even MORE powerful than before 😂
@@Azaytiothe ominous potion doesn't seem to be brewable, however I'm sure you probably could farm the potions anyways from outposts.
I think raids should happen naturally. I actually have a cool idea though.
There are crows added to Minecraft, found in roofed forests, spruce woods and badlands mainly. But illagers will have a Cursed Crow. They send Cursed Crows out, identified by a blue trail that follows them and blue glowing eyes, to scope out villages and players to attack. These crows have the bad omen effect and upon entering a village, usually landing on the bell, will bring a raid... 😮
Easter egg effects of you name them Huginn or Muninn!
Bad Crowmen sounds like an interesting idea, but it doesn't have the same option to opt out of the raid like you do by not fighting the banner pillager
The next update should be a revamp all legacy dungeons with new content that makes them worth seeking out. When was the last time you sought out a woodlands mansion?
Now I can rename my hammer as the pogo stick of doom!
I hadn't heard that it's the last new feature, but now maybe it means we can actually go back to insisting on non-parity in the copper block tick delay.
Not non-parity, but just a 1 tick delay
@@MC_CN A theory on the change is that it's for parity with MCPE, and the delay would end up with non-parity, which feels like something we may need to argue in favour of as well.
@@notapplicable3 The change wasn't made for parity reasons. It was made for "CoNsIsTaNcY" reasons (nothing to do with Bedrock edition, just other redstone components in Java).
I’m honestly really happy that they nerfed totem farms. I always thought being able to easily fill double chests with totems was absurdly overpowered.
Bro has the entire bee movie script on the side of his screen💀

True
Truth
The remaining "feature" they need to work on is parity between the two versions. Take all the best features in Bedrock and port them to Java, and the best features of Java over to Bedrock.
They have been doing that with hardcore and spectator mode, it took awhile because of the amount of random bugs that kill you in Bedrock
yeah bedrock with the ability to create air pockets is good
I feel like they need to have Density and Breach be conflicting enchantments... Reduced armor effectiveness combined with extra attack power from falling is an extremely overpowered combination in PvP. It outclasses basically every weapon in the game right now.

and so on.
I really wish you would link the sources in these types of videos, partly because it lends credence and gives credit where credit is due, and partly because the Minecraft launcher doesn't have snapshots in the news section anymore. So two questions: A request for the former, and a why-don't-they-do-that-anymore for the latter.
Don't they show the new snapshots on the launcher as well? I just checked the snaphot on the launcher, but i think i have the old version so it might be different from the latest launcher
Snapshots are listed under "Patch Notes" on Java
Patch notes are also on the Minecraft website
As for improvements to already existing features, they should be putting the copper bulb back to 1 game tick laike they had it at first. The ability to improve tick efficient machines with it is honestly really interesting and taking away that improvement doesn't make sense.
I personally think that the wind burst enchantment shouldn't deal damage and the new potions should have more uses for normal players. Also, I can't wait to see what else they do with the ominous bottle! I think this update will change the way many people will play Minecraft!!!!!
Yeah, if they're going to be brewable, they should have some reason to be brewed.
One thing i would love to see in a future update is an updated alchemy system. I feel like the baseline to getting potions is too far. Maybe buff potions that are brewed with awkward potions and blaze powder fuel, and then add some kind of cheaper way to make (significantly nerfed) potions pre-nether. Maybe a more natural system like making suspicious stew, but stronger.
Outro joke was groan, but pretty good groan, 7/10. Gotta admit, trial chambers are pretty cool! 😎
I really think that mojang has really thought out the enchantments for the mace very well by over powering the mace with enchantments but also making the enchantments really really hard to get.
I really hope they don't make it so that we can get higher level enchantments directly from the vaults and we get, atmost, level 1 or 2 of the new books
Also now I see the over over kill advancement has gotten a lot easier. I think they should get it slightly rework it and increase the damage requirement from 50 to maybe like 80.
Ash thank you for editing the video!
12:28 I'm pretty sure that's a Bogged 😂
I think having more vault and key types for different structures could be a good Idea, like end keys and end city vaults or bastion keys and bastion vaults.
I think this is really excited. We get to decide if we want the easy or hard trial chamber plus it has new gear to play with so now we can justify having netherite armor in singleplayer. Also imagine doing an ominous trial chamber and the warden just shoots a beam through the floor and kills you. I still think there should be new bosses. Having one for the trial chamber would be cool
This snapshot is insane, I can't wait for this update! This update is gonna be so good! ;)
This is such a good update, and you summarized it so well! Thanks mate!
Am I the only person, as a chill/easy-mode/risk-averse player on a long-term survival world, who is totally bummed at how little there is in this update if you're not all about fighting?
New doggos are nice and all, but that's about it (plus the tuff blocks and copper doors).
Doesn't seem a lot for us pacifists!
People are happy over rocket jumping like they are only gonna use that once in a survival world & forget about it. They added 3 new useless potions & we already have so many useless potions. The trail chambers is alright but forgettable not even a new boss or actual cool gear. Trims are alright but useless specially if you play alone. They added one cool weapon but why not actually add more or make the normal weapons more unique and do other things. No stackable potions yet.
Enchantments could use a new upgrade/tier system. Currently as it stands, enchanting has became just villager trading. So a way to fix this issue would be giving enchantments tiers. Tier 1 could be all of the lvl 1 or 2 enchants, Tier 2 could be the lvl 3 4 5, and lastly tier 3 enchantments requires the anvil using a max out enchant, plus 1 specific item to create it. However, the newly upgraded item will be at lvl 1, but it still retains the enchantment used at lvl 2. For Instance, say that Protection 4 + Blaze Rod makes Fire Protection 1, but Fire Protection 1 now gains an additional buff of being Protection 2.
As for village trading, tier 1 books cost x number of emeralds + x number of books. Tier 2 cost x number of emerald blocks + x Lvl 2 book. Tier 3 cost x Lvl x book (depends on which is the max lvl for a book) + x rare or non-stackable item.
Pro move: Chugging Oozing, Infested, and Weaving before a PVP fight to help enact your revenge if you lose.
1.21 making Bad Omen a potion that the player can choose to activate, alone makes this a GOATed update
Yes but no, in doing so they've ruined other people's games (ie they assume "this is going to be a big update" so they stop supporting older devices) And to add salt to the cut those "devices that aren't supported anymore" are stuck on a glitched version of MC where bad omen is un-obtainable. Meaning you can never do a raid again in your survival world if you don't get a new device buy a realm and switch over.. it's really a scummy trash thing to do imo (just like the mojang account migration)
@@COKTilYouDropupdating the game for older devices and optimizing it too is hard yk
@ABoyWhoLovesBalloon fr though, how are we supposed to get good updates when they're still prioritizing old devices? @@COKTilYouDropyou can’t expect older devices to work with a constantly updating game it’s not scummy it’s just what has to happen especially since Minecraft is a very demanding game. I'd like to see a stackable item. Daggers. They could be used in both hands up close or thrown rapidly.
I'll be honest: I LOVE this! Mojang simply went and said "okay, this weapon might be a bit too good, what do we do?" and simply LET it be good but just make it hard to get. Endgame items SHOULD be overall better and above the stuff that's easier to get, kinda like reaching max level in a grindy fighting game, or else there'd be no point outside things like achievements.
Everyone: **talks about the new potions and the mace**
Me: YEEESSS THEY MADE DIAMONDS _RENEWABLE_ YEAAAAAAAAAA-
Thankfully since vaults give ominous bottles you're able to get a mace in a trial chamber without needing to leave and come back, unless you're unlucky
I guess the "entrance" is there for a player to turn into a piston door and dig a stairway to the surface
When it comes to the possibility of an ominous warden interaction, I think that the potion should make the warden spawn the first time that a shrieker goes off instead of the third time, in addition they could make mob spawning turn back on in city limits or even increase the range of the sensors.
i think that silver fish should give you the infested effect when they attack slimes should have a chance to give you oozzing when they attack
Idk about oozing, but maybe infested
Aw man, now I have to rewrite my whole brewing guide book in minecraft 😭
There is still armored mobs in singleplayer that has protection 4 armor sometimes. Breach is useful against if you play on hard.
By the way, you can get the higher levels of Ominous Bottles from the Ominous Trial Vaults (levels 3-5 iirc) and the lower ones from the regular Trial Vaults
I enjoy Toycat running around the ancient city like he didnt just spawn three wardens
I think KingBDogz said that there wasn't any boss planned for this update but he didnt exclude that from the future.
For raid farms, you could just make a normal raid farm like before, and just make an item sorter, with a dispenser that drops you the potion. And then you could just keep something on your right mouse button, or just run an auto clicker in the background, and you’d be able to achieve the same results as before.
Feature suggestion, potion of luck grants potion specific rewards when used inside a trail spawned
Cant wait for this update!
You forgot to mention that those specific potion effects are placed on the mobs during ominous trials
Between Ancient City and Trial Chambers is like real Egyptian
The mace is now a very good weapon :)
I imagine you can use the Mace in parkour or obby maps now! Like, getting across a gap by hitting a mob or entity with Wind Burst so you can reach the orher side, how does that sound?
You can also get Smite and Bane of Arthropods on the Mace!
For once this makes me actually want bane of arthropods!
You know and we all know that the door in the tree room also call 'entrance' room can be a Toycat base setup for any time a viewer can go there and make a trail chamber base setup or Toycat base setup
You had me at potions. This feels like Mojang taking a step in expanding the magic system of the game.
With the windburtst enchantment you can hit a mob, fly into the air, and trickshoot it with a crossbow for extra cool points 😎 especially with a firework!
this is the perfect chance to add the illusioner
I think all weapons should get a fall/speed damage buff, with the mace being the best for the job. The also might reconsider adding this many enchantments, as it might be better to just reuse old features like sharpness(maybe with a more appropiate name) as adding more standalone features clogs up minecraft core design based on interaction between elements.
Also The trident now drops from basic tier vaults as well !
12:14 those are nasty if we have them as tip arrows
I feel like bad omen shouldn't be a potion getting bad omen and forgetting you have it when going into a village is part of the challenge I think it's cool it can be a potion as well but I think you should still get bad omen from a captain
the mace seems like it may compete with tipped arrows and riptide tridents on bedrock in terms of brokenness
For all the tf2 players out there, I’m going to say something I don’t think many have realized: using fire charges, slime blocks, the wind charges, or anything we can launch ourselves with, we can effectively market gardener in Minecraft.
