    You forgot to mention my favourite change. The trident impaling enchantment matches parity to bedrock where it deals bonus damage to every underwater mob not just squids, dolphins, and turtles (why would you want this?) but on top of that they're making it that impaling deals extra damage to any mob when it is raining or thundering.
    So with a trident you really feel like a god of the seas, and I feel they really need other weapons like the trident for other elements, like maybe a scythe for the Nether that has enchantments that allow you to deal more damage to mobs in the Nether (Fire) , maybe a dagger or something for the End (Air), and then maybe like a staff or hammer that can be found underground (Earth) all with associated enchantments

    • @squidwardlegends2950
      @squidwardlegends2950 Před 6 měsíci +14

      I actually have an idea. So a fletching table can add a modification to a bow using an ore. So coal gives a chance for an arrow to set a mob on fire AND a block on fire (kinda like a better form of flame) and can stack. Iron gives 1 more base damage and 100 more durability, gold gives a 40% drawing boost, lapis having a set chance to slow down enemies, redstone having a visible trajectory (like a dotted line so you kno if your arrow is gonna land on the specific mob or block you want to hit), copper gives a chance of wither damage as like rust damage, diamond having 2 extra base damage and 200 durability and netherite with 3 and 300. You can add 2 enhancments to the bow and crossbow but coal, gold, lapis, redstone and copper has a 70% chance to use 2 durability and 30% chance to use 3 and iron, diamond and netherite cant be used together. Repairing a bow or crossbow with enhancements need 2 of each material (except for diamond and ancient debris) per 100 durability or just use anvils but the fletching table doesnt use xp to fix it so you can fix it infinitely by only using some materials.

They made the decision between weapons way less straight forward, buffed potions to the point to where they could actually be worth making in PvE, AND made regen way more manageable! But if there was one change I could make in this update, it would be to change anvils. Making repairs not add to the enchantment cost would probably work as a nerf to mending, expecaily on infinity bows. Some tweaks to the systems and giving more thought is all that it’ll take to make the changes fully work.
    So many things can be tied with combat changes like enchanting, anvil’s and the fletcher table (just to name a few) that it would be hype asf if they update things with this update in mind.
    I also agree with making it so it doesn’t hinder a certain play style. If an RPG thing comes, they have to make sure they don’t take away from the base game of being a sandbox. If that doesn’t happen then I’d be 100% against the update as, while it’s creative and good for an RPG, that is not what Minecraft is. It will always be a sandbox game and I think so many, even the devs, forget that fact.

      calling it just a sandbox game does not seem logical to me, minecraft is at its core a sandbox game but definently not limited to just sandbox at all. People play minecraft sometimes exlusively for its pvp community, not for the sandbox elements of mc. every player is unique and so adding things which appeal to every playstyle is very important.

    in terms of enchantments, and "specialized weapons" like you were talking about, I think the best way would be some kind of skill tree-like format. You should have to make choices between different options as you progress through enchanting something, and this unlocks paths to new enchantments later on. In between the points where you have to choose, there would be enchantment upgrades that can only be positive to break it up, like increasing the level of sharpness. This way there would be a few different maxed-out versions of each weapon or armor piece which all have different advantages, uses and quirks that fit a situation or playstyle. A sword could be tailored towards better overall damage, reach, area of effect, or damage over time (like fire aspect), while a bow could have a path with better range and accuracy, vs one with higher fire rate and knockback. idk im just spitballing but something like this could be cool and feel more diverse.

    • @unboxing_legend7708
      @unboxing_legend7708 Před 6 měsíci +3

      to branch off from that idea, i feel like if u have the multishot on the crossbow, it now adds 3 new hotbar slots specifically for arrows to go into so whatever arrows u put in those hotbar slots will fore one of each of those arrows in the 3 slots. so u can have a poison arrow in the 1st slot which when shot, shoots always on the left, the 2nd arrow being slowness which shoots straight forward and the 3rd being normal arrows which shoots to the right and at any point u can switch those positions around to best suit which direction u want to shoot them from. this way it gives the multishot enchantment a unique ability and doesnt take up an essential inventory slot in which something more important can go there. crossbows are typically slow at reloading and multishot is very situational ecspecially in a solo survival world so giving it a unqiue benefit that doesnt make it OP but more of a balanced, viable enchantment, would then mean it would be used more and is more optional then just a last pick choice enchantment on a crossbow.

    For some reason I have this obsession with the idea of a gauntlets type weapon being added to the game. Taking up both mainhand and offhand as a drawback for it's nutty amount of attack speed, medium amount of damage but low amount of reach. Maybe you could even make it different by halfing the normal invincibility frames, allowing you to rack up damage rlly fast. I have a few enchantment ideas as well, likr stunning and combo which allow you to temporarily paralyze entities and make punching with the gauntlets fully automatic and slowly gains attack speed by getting hits consistently respectively. Missing a hit would stop the combo though so you don't just keep momentum. The gauntlets also only automatically attack when you get a hit prior. Ok maybe uppercut could be an enchantment as well. Ok honestly i think combat in Minecraft has so much potential and I'm really excited to see where they go with this update. Maybeee they add new weapons???

    Things I think Mojang should add this update.
    1. A new weapon. In the same sense as the trident, a weapon that can only be obtained one way, I think they should do the same for trial shambers. Maybe a staff that shoots wind projectiles? Or maybe a greatsword with big damage and reach but very slow swing speed. Either way, adding a new weapon would make a reason players would seek out the trial chambers in the first place instead of more music discs or craftable gear and loot.
    2. Locked chests. Having seen mojang add a key as an item drop from trial spawners really has people going crazy about what it is for. My idea is that it will be used for specific locked chests that are tuffer to break and work similarly to shulker boxes but needs the key to be opened. This would prevent players from rushing through, grabbing the loot and running without fighting. These chests could also house a new weapon inside like suggested earlier.
    3. Banner map markers. This I definitely think should be added to bedrock from java. It allows players to mark and name areas on the map, and can be used for many purposes from adventuring, to labeling structures, to a guide to where you may had dungeon delved before perishing.
    4. New poison skeleton designs. When I heard that skeletons would shoot poisoned arrows I was a little disappointed when I saw that they were just skeletons weilding poison arrows. A new skeleton mob would be so much better as it would have a specific design that is distinctive, similar to the stray, husk, and drowned, making you know what type of zombie they were before getting attacked.
    5. A new boss. In a combat update there should definitely be a new boss to be added. My idea is something with a copper or tuff aesthetic to fit with the trial chambers. Maybe something similar to redstone golems from minecraft dungeons.
    Any of these ideas implemented would make this update feel more of a 8 or 9 out of 10 to me while it currently is sitting at a 7/10 for me.

    Image a weapon holder thingy that would be made of sticks and possibly iron nuggets and it would be wall-mounted. It could hold and display maybe 3-4 weapons at a time and when you right click on a weapon it instantly goes into the first free space in the hotbar (or if all spaces are full, it'll go into space 1 and force the previous item there to be dropped if there's no inventory space for it). This would be useful to not only display weapons in a good looking way, but unlike the item frame, it would be quick to access the weapon and you wouldn't need to catch the weapon that sort of pops off the item frame.

      the alternative to thos would be to give weapons 1 unique ability that it can use. maybe a sword can deal a bleeding affect on mobs for a extra second being 1 or two ticks of 1dmg, maybe bows can cause mini aoe explosion dmg when it hits a mob but doesnt destory blocks. the trident can be thrown in mid air during a rainstorm a 2nd time to stay airbourne without the use of an elytra and gain a bit more distance more easily. stuff like this would be neat.

      i never really used saturation myself so i guess getting rid of it would add the difficulty spike but on its own can be worked around and negated anyway down the line and some alternative way would just replace it making the difficulty barely ramp up. i personally think the harder the mode, the more hp and dmg certain mobs do usually the common mobs like the zombies and drowned. as to not make it too difficult, get rid of hostile mobs like the zombies and skeletons being able to wear armour, make enchants and zombies with swords on mobs and skeletons quite rare for those mobs to soawn with so if the mob drops the item, u dont get something OP or decent enough at such an early point in the game. even then if armour on these mobs were to stay, they should at least only have the mobs were one piece of armour clothing not multiple, so getting free sets of enchanted gear without the need of enchants is not easy to obtain. id say about as rare as a normal fishing rod being able to have the chance to fish out an enchanted book and for only specific enchants to be found on the armour to stop it being OP or to skip progress but still be optional to wear if someone manages to obtain one early on.

    i thought with the thumbnail that they were adding howburds (thougt it was called "battle axe") and daggers but guess not, i do have a sweet idea for the daggers. using them disables your off-hand (has an unique texture where one dagger is in your item slot and the other in your off-hand and removing the dagger from the off-hand or switching your main hand to something else automatically reconnects the daggers in one inventory slot and selecting daggers in your main hand automaticaly switches whatever's in your off-hand to a dagger and so on) but you can spam click like pre 1.9 pvp without attack cooldown side effects (i.e. where the sword deals less damage if you spam click)

    It might just be the medieval nerd in me speaking, but I love the idea of new weapons, maybe not halberds, but spears definitely. Now I'm just spit balling, maybe add two handed variants, sword with more reach and damage, axe with more damage, a spear with too much reach, but you lose access to your offhand, so no shield, or a timed block. Maybe a wee too complex for cube game tho.

      Nah I could totally see what you mean. Like a jab attack with a spear which takes the shield out of view while doing the attack and shows a split second cooldown on its item box. After the quick cooldown, the shield would come back into view in the offhand again and be able to block.

    there would be an enchantment for tridents (or spears if they add them) called phalanx that allows you to attack and have your shield up but have less damage and reach and another called pikeing which adds longer reach and damage but you could use them together. Also, an enchantment called swift strike that adds faster attack speed but less damage for swords.

Or imagine someone in a pvp game mode has a trident and you have a sword then all they have to do is sit in a corner with their 4 block reach and you can’t do anything because you can’t get close enough because the sword can’t reach far enough.

    I think we need diferent potions, like a potion of vulnerability (take more damage, no shield, but short time length), or a potion of wieght that stops someone from jumping but requires netherite scraps to get any decent time length. A potion of shocking would also be cool, it would deal a bit of armor penetrating damage and disable your opponents weapon for a split second, which could be really useful for going into a combo. and if you drink shocking through a normal bottle, you can apply the effect to other people by hitting them (instant effect on self, but can apply a weaker effect to targets)

  • @TheClutchCraft
    @TheClutchCraft Před 6 měsíci +1

    The thing is pvp; 1.8 or 1.21 is all about timing and range anyways, if you are too close the opponent can hit you back too (therefore resulting in not being able to Combo) , on the other hand if you are too far you won’t be able to hit the other guy, and as for timing.. well even 1.8 has timing on bedrock for example, there are 2 cps combos; and spam combos, and depending on the other persons ping a certain amount of cps matters. It will be interesting to know how bedrock players will react/ get to know, the new pvp especially without any past experience with 1.9+ pvp. Since I have a few freinds that don’t understand it at all, cause they have played bedrock up until now.

    i think there should be more parity between enchantments and what items they can be put on - like sharpness being available on the trident, impaling being available on the sword, etc.
    being able to pick and choose which weapon you want your enchantments on would allow so much more variety, such as someone preferring to use a power 5 crossbow for higher damage, or putting quick charge on your normal bow
    impaling already exists and has an effect different from sharpness - being to only damage things in water, but it could work just fine applied on a sword if they tweaked the damage numbers to be better than sharpness.
    Enchantment and weapon variety would be cool i think and make enchantments a LOT simpler to use and understand for both new players and old players

    Improvements I would add are: making the tridents farther reach more obvious, the trident has always looked shorter than a sword in hand, so it having farther reach is a bit perplexing despite tridents being a type of spear. I would add a short attack by tapping the trigger and a charged long attack by holding the trigger, the long attack would have a separate spear like poking animation. In general there should be more weapon animations.
    I would also bring back sword blocking this time you would only be able to block for a short second afterwhich holding the button would do nothing, with a well timed block you would parry someones attack putting you in frame advantage (frame advantage Is basically when the opposing players next opportunity of attack is delayed a second while the player in advantage is able to attack sooner) THIS would make pvp combat interesting and wouldn’t disrupt regular pve combat. You could also add enchantments based off of this one where it would allow you to bounce projectiles back (Reflecting?), it could be an exclusive enchantment if you wanted to, for example maybe it doesn’t go onto swords with fire aspect on it. The other enchantment could be making the parry time more generous(timing 1-3?), this would be an exclusive enchantment against sharpness. These are all my suggestions for now, I have many more ideas but I don’t want this to get out of hand.
    That said I do like changes they’ve made in this beta, I hope they make more great decisions 🤞

    I think that for your Idea of changing your weapons for different encounters (which I have thought of for a while too) is to make more toolsets on the same level. Maybe instead of being better, netherite would be equal to diamond, but have different stats, like fire resistance of course, but higher defense while taking some movespeed, while some new toolset could be a lot more effective in the air, but a bit weaker by default. Also enchantment caps would be food. Or maybe a penalty for too many enchantments like hollow knight when you put on more badges than you have knotches for, you get all the effects but take double the damage. It wouldn't be that exact double damage system, but something like that could be cool.
    Also potions should get a re-work. Being able to be dunk much faster would be good, but also what about mixing potions? Instead of only getting one effect in a potion, what if you could add multiple Items, like 2 rabbits feet for jump boost 2 and one magma creme for fire resistance 1, and then it would give you those effects together. Maybe they would be weaker the more different potions you put in there, and maybe the drinking time would get longer so you can't just put everything in one potion. It would make potions more customizable and interesting, which would be fun.
