I don't think that Pink Diamond was given the task of conquering Earth. I feel like it seems more realistic that Pink Diamond went on her own conquest with the mentality of "I'll show them" after the interaction shown in Stevonnie's dream on "Jungle Moon."

Another mistake was that she created way too overpowered soldiers. We know that she was the one that designed all the Rose Quartzes and lets see what powers gave them:
1)The ability to create living plans, in other words the ability to create an entire army by themselfs, that it would follow their comand and noone alses
2)Super strength and durability
3)The ability to create protective bubbles that can withstand even the most powerfull weapons
4)healing tears that can allow them to keep themselfs alive and sustain an entire army and can even heal cracks and objects
5)The ability to fly and pretty much escape from enemies rather easily
When you create a being that has extremely powerfull offensive,defensive and supporting powers to the point that it rivals your own power ,its bound to turn against you. In other words I think that when Pink designed the Rose Quartzes the only thing that she had in her mind was how to make them as awesome and badass as possible(just like a kid or a rookie writter that creates a fictional character and gives them many powers and no flaws to the point that is a mary sue/gary stu) or maybe she did it in order to show of to the rest of the Diamonds like "Look at my soldiers they are so much better than any gem that you have ever created"
I really like this theory! It would make sense that she'd try to somehow create better and superior gems to show the other diamonds that she is just as important as them, which is rather childish. But exactly that fits her from what we have seen
This is exactly what I was thinking. The whole theme of these two episodes were Star Wars parodies. It reminded me of the dad joke Vader told in Rogue One, “Be careful not to choke on your aspirations”. This fits Pinks need to feel and portray herself as important. These elements are definitely her downfall.
In other to create an army like that, it must had destroyed a lot of organic life on Earth, giving more motive to the rebellious gems too

1. I dont think they can choose what powers their soldiers have. They can just choose what kind they're making based on where they put the injectors.
2.They dont have much control as to how they come out, as evidenced by EVERY DEFECTIVE GEM IN THE SHOW EVER. INCLUDING PINK DIAMOND HERSELF.
3. Most, if not, EVERY gem can bubble. Even Peridot can bubble and she's an era 2 Peridot who cant shapeshift and has little control of her metal powers.
4.The only gem confirmed to have healing tears is Rose Quartz. In Bubbled, the only way Steven could prove to Eyeball that "he was Rose Quartz", to make her feel better, was to heal her gem, because only THE Rose Quartz had the ability to heal. That's why she was a witness in the trial against Steven.
5. Rose Quartz cant fly. She can leap into the air and control her gravity. All of the Crystal gems can do this, so its not an exclusive Rose Quartz ability.
Thing is, though. Even with all of these abilities they were confident a Rose Quartz could NEVER defeat a diamond. They never had to worry about a gem stepping out of line like Rose Quartz did because of the power they hold over all of gem kind. A Diamond is powerful and even to this day strikes fear in the Crystal Gems. It was just a case of Pink Diamond underestimating the Crystal Gem rebellion.
That makes sense. Maybe thats where a good chunk of the guilt blue (and yellow) feel over Pink's demise. Because they gave into her childish temper tantrums and gave her a responsibility that got massively out of hand, even for the diamonds, leading her to be shattered. That makes their grief take an interesting turn since it now seems more parental.

can’t blame pink for failing. nobody could’ve predicted how humans are. in their (the diamonds) universe, they’re the most intelligent beings. so to find others that walk, talk n act like them must’ve been a shock. i don’t think the other diamonds meant to put pink in such a strange situation, it just so happens that the first planet/species she came across was a persistent and determined one
Pink was quickly rising to power. Which makes me really question how things went so wrong for her. She had towers that could manipulate gravity, she had artifacts that could manipulate time, she created the Rose Quartz which has the largest and most versatile amount of abilities of any gem. She had a flawless Jasper who was a monster of a Gem and served her with absolute loyalty to the point that centuries later she still serves to avenge Pink rather than obey Yellow. She had massive success building powerful machines and soldiers yet she still failed, moreover all evidence points to her being killed by a Diamond but we still have no answer why.

I remind that events of her shattering was put in question by the trial, and that Bismuth never finish her project if it even was capable to shatter more then normal gem.
The reason why Diamonds are treat as gods is because only they can both create and shatter gems.
I wonder... of all the gems, pink diamond had the kind that had compassion, healing, and love. So, did she fall in love with humans? did she at least find them interesting? She did seem like the kind of person to be wonderstruck by new worlds eh.

From where you get that? I generally think that making a villain from Pink is clear red hearing (same with Yellow), but I don't think show ever imply what you said? Rose maybe but not Pink (even considering possibility that they are this same). Though technically there is also another theory regard that..

She definitely rushed her armies it seems, with so many earth gems being defective or not having a good mentality. If pink was actually patient, the gems probably would've developed easier, but everything was so rushed that the kindergarten, doesn't even have any natural resources left.

Honestly, I think Pink feel for Earth and didn't want to hurt it, but never actually left it alone--instead, tried to conquered and ruled it--which resulted in the rebellion. Or, she loved and protected it, and was shattered by a Diamond who made it look like Rose did it. OR, she's hiding out, and made to believe to be dead. (shrugs)
It was probaly the only place where she felt she feets. Or... I don't know, is SU, so I gues will give us something to conect with Pink.

I kind of feel bad for pink diamond. She reminds me of a child who kind of doesn't know completely what they're doing and ends up creating their own demise

Pink makes me think that she was the queen of the misfits. From the quartz on the zoo were all some way “flawed” It would make sense as to how the defects fit into the diamond authority? I think when we see jaspers kindergarten it shows how her leadership was flawed. If you want a strong army, you would take time to build it but it kind of looked like the process was rushed to get more soldiers to fight the rebellion. This show also makes me think of real life rebellions like the French Revolution and how the people rose against the monarchy. Like, Marie Anntoinette was really young when she got married and soon after became queen. Documentarys show her mother queen of Austria at the time warned her about leadership. But Marie wanted to have fun doing other activities rather than care for the country. This along with her husbands own problems soon lead to rebellion. I think of pink as Marie for acting childish and Yellow/ perhaps blue as the mother figure trying to help sort out the mess of the rebellion. (Which both failed to stop in both situations)

That is the thing. We don't really know much what did happen and from what we know until now was put in doubt in trial episode. Even if we can debate over similarities, we shouldn't jump in conclusion basically regard anything right now.

Still, I like the ideology of it. When you think about it a lot of monarchs and patriarchs from time past were rushed in leadership roles whether they wanted it or not. Of course, in this case, Pink wanted her own thing going and in the end got it, she underestimated her own ability to handle things. Look how long the war took and then she's shattered at the end of it. It's like a kid in college calling their parents(Blue & Yellow) about this issue they're having in school. One parent reacts(Blue) by trying to intervene but only making it worse (Garnet is made and bringing fusion as a real game changer).
I have a lot of catching up to do I hope we get more Diamond flashbacks

MAYBE Pink created the zoo to 'save' the human race and created our Rose and the rest to take care of them, which was a terrible idea that made our Rose too protective and at some point MAYBE White diamond sent one of her pearls to see how the zoo was going and that's how our Pearl and Rose met.

Wow this a lot to take in. Though I think it's wise to parelle Steven and Pink together. They both share similar roles. Learning to be leaders yet still treated like a child. It could be showing the path Steven could have taken. That he could have ended up like Pink but didn't. Maybe that's why Steveione is having the diamond dreams.
In the murals of The Diamonds, White not only has the same number of planets and moons as Yellow, Blue, and Pink combined, but the same sets of planets with moons orbiting them!
For example, Yellow holds a planet with 4 moons (three close together, and one off to the side) in her right hand. White has this same 4-mooned-planet at the very top above her head!
(Remember to count the planets Yellow is holding in her hands. The Planet White is holding between her hands in most likely Home World, witch the Diamonds share dominion over)

THE CRYSTAL GEMS, the people that stood by rose thought she killed pink! Why didn't rose deny it? And you can't say rose didn't know because pearl could have asked her! Idk why so I want you to make a theory on this 😊
Edit: alright so what I meant by pearl asking rose is wouldn't pearl feel heartbroken that the person she was suppose to protect the person she loves had a big battle without her? If pearl knew she would have asked "why did you not call me? Why didn't you have me? Why did you do it?"
Did she ever say she did it? I don’t think she made anyone think she did it. And don’t say Pearl and Garnet know she did because that isn’t proof of her making people believe she did it because we haven’t seen an episode where she says so.

People seem to dismiss thee fact and say another gem shattered PD but I'm not sure because if the revelation of PD being killed by Rose came up and Rose didn't do it, you would have to think the crystal gems would have said that she didn't but the crystal gems didn't deny it and even confirmed it. So did Rose tell the crystal gems she shattered PD or was she lying and keeping a huge a secret behind her back. It is pretty interesting.

What did she tell them? what did She tell pearl because pearl would have been heart broken to hear that the person she cares about did a battle with one of the diamonds without her. Something that I have no proof of but is cool to think about is what if rose made a deal with yellow? To stop the war and make everyone flee yellow or maybe even white asked "We want to kill pink we will stop the war if we have you pretend you killed pink?" Idk but I have no proof so don't @ me 😂😂
My theory is that, they all kind of assumed Rose killed PD, but never directly asked her about it. Maybe Rose went missing (She apparently had a habit of going off on her own)on the same day PD demise was known by both armies and Garnet and Pearl just put pieces together that weren't there. Another theory is Rose was somehow involved in her shattering but didn't actually do the deed, hence why she neither confirmed or denied the accusation. The CG already had it made up in their minds that Rose did what she had to do to free Earth, so they probably didn't see a reason to keep asking her for questions on the matter.

YO. In the trial, when Yellow diamond got was startled at zircon points out how Pink diamond’s pearl and other guards should have been near her before her shattering, maybe YD got defensive because pink diamond was never actually given any of them! Also, this theory could explain how rose could have gotten close to PD, but rose might’ve been able to shatter pink diamond as PD was defective, and subjectively weaker than other diamonds.

Mikadobly rose couldnt shatter anyone cause her sword was made to not shatter my idea is that it was YD because think of it now that we see this this shows that PD was the brat of the family or she got what she wanted so YD killed her cause she was annoyed

She did not like humans the way you think, the humans were like pets, she did not save them out of some loyalty, but as property. You really want those Diamonds to some how be good, but I don't think that is the case. Pink Diamond was a spoiled sociopathic brat, it was probably her crulity to other gems that caused the rebelion in the first place.
Lol you really hate the character. The cruniverse can go on this route but is still SU, where this antagonist always get humanized at some point. And the zoo, wasnt like a cage for humans, it actualy provided them with all that they need, including a roumantic program. Keeping this in mind is safe too asume that is more likely for Pink to be fascinated by this lifeforms.

I don't hate the Diamonds, but I am not under the belief that they are the good guys. As far as the human zoo, well I guess it was ok that Pink Diamond took humans away from their friends and family so she could have an equalivant to a ant farm. People have ant farms because they are fancinated with ants, does it make it right? Essentially the humans were Pink Diamond pets. Rose Quartz had a facination with humans and she was stonger than them, but she did not kid nap them to observe them. She looked at them from a far until she got the courage to interact with them. Trying to treat them as the assassinate beings.
In many ways the Diamonds are not evil, but they are not the good guys. I get it they are just trying to increase their species like other species, but in the process they are commiting genocide. Did you see what they did to that planet on Stranded, it was completely destroyed and they ended up destroying the life on that planet. That is not the good or right thing to do.

i really dont think pink was defective. she was very child like and it makes me think that diamonds grow similar to humans. as they age they grow taller. i think that was the same thing with Pink. i think she was shattered relatively "young" in her life. say she was still in her 'teens' compared to yellow and blue and then even white diamond. who knows I WANT MORE EPISODES.

If you remember, Amethyst used to look like a small child. But now looks older. But, in order for a gem to change their look, they need to poof, I believe. This means PD got poofed at some point.
Unlawful Potato I think its possible for them to change their form without having to have the other one destroyed. Pearl initially describes it as the gemstone releasing the physical form with their energy and consciousness retreating to the gemstone. Then there's Eyeball Ruby's "I nearly dissipated my form".
Perhaps if a gem consciously felt the need, they can release their form of their own accord or draw it back within their gemstones to make changes.

Still, Yellow and Blue tried to save all humans before the cluster emerged. They obviously changed their 'destroy all organic life'-stance.
Peridot (and by extension homeworld) didn't know much about humans. They thought, Steven had given them a complet list of all humans and sent Aquamarine and Topas to retrieve every single one of them.

Was it really the first Gem Rebellion though? Rebellions don't seem to be the kind of thing the Diamonds would spread knowledge about and in Stevonnie's dream you hear concerns expressed that there's organic life on the planet of the Jungle moon So again, is Rose's rebellion the first rebellion?
I love how you edit all of the clips and have the music. It's all so perfect and we are really able to feel the integrity of your feelings and thoughts on the show and it's moments. The analysis isn't sharp and to the point with only quick flashes if what is being talked about. Everything you say and analyze all flow together. I still questioning about who shattered pink diamond because in the episode the trial it shows that rose couldn't have shattered her and it questions me because ether way rose's sword wasn't meant for shattering but yellow diamond flips out when the gem in the trial says that it could be other diamond so did yellow shatter pink or was it white diamond who shattered pink cause that may be the reason why she is not in the show maybe she is hiding cause she shattered pink

Whoa whoa whoa. Who said PD was defective? She could be growing still considering she is most likely the youngest. Gems started young. Like Amethyst, for example. This shows that gems need to grow until they reach their full height. Pink Diamond is presumably still young in this clip so she’s short. In Garnet’s flashback a few episodes back, Pink Diamond was fully grown and in the form that she was in for the murals.

I just realized the reason why earth gems are looked down upon from homeworld is because of the history behind pink diamond conquering it. The diamonds failed and took pink diamond for granted and any gems made on earth wasn't viewed the same as gems made on homeworld but i wonder would this still be true if pink diamond was never "shattered" and the diamonds won.
What if pink diamond was a little Diamond because when stevonnie went inside the building you can see the glass that pink diamond punched and it was Stevonnies height

I feel like a Diamond's first colony is a guided gift from White Diamond - it would make sense. It's something that they follow plans for and learn from experiences about - and I feel like Pink Diamond's biggest failure is she didn't want to commit to these plans from a distance. And by going in herself, she fell into the flaw that you described: the organic life fascinated her, just as it did Rose Quartz.

Pink Diamond's personality makes me worded how her Pearl's personality might have been. I mean when it's thought about, Yellow Diamond kinda has a short temper, wile her Pearl has a snooty uptight personality. Blue Diamond is mostly calm and sad wile her Pearl is quiet and seems to be shy. Pink Diamond sounded like a child so, what would her Pearl have been like? This question has been in my head since your last few vids about Pink!

Looking back on the clips from "It could've been great" that you showed in this vid, It was obvious from the beginning - from the size of the moon base's chair, that Pink was a considerably shorter Diamond. From that and the newest episode, she's the size of Opal, at best. It makes me wonder if all of her depictions in murals and in public were altered to make the rest of homeworld think she's the towering, imposing matriarch she was meant to be. Like Tutankhamun: he was a stunted, effeminate short arse with a clubfoot who probably walked with a staff, but all of his depictions in statues and hieroglyphs show him as the perfect human specimen of a pharoh. This is probably what Yellow, Blue and White did with Pink too.

I interpreted what Nephrite said as the organic species were defending military forces (so were advanced). Humans over 5000 years couldn’t defend initially, so weren’t wiped out. Although Greg implied they did join forces with Rose later.

The parallels are actually really funny, as Lapis is rather close to both peridot and Steven, and mot really anyone else. It's also funny because Blue seemed shocked that Gregg- or even anyone for that matter- could understand her emotions and you kind of find that between Lapis and Steven, or better yet, Blue and Pink. Now, I'm no experienced theorist, but it's also important to point out Pink's Gladiolus flower in one of the official arts, because Gladiolus is a symbol of death. The fact that it was shown wilting could be one of two things-
1) Just to make the meaning obvious
2)Indicates a slow dying, the process of dying, or even close to dying but not there yet.
Thought it was just cool to point out, seeing as I love those flowers :)
Finding out she was an irresponsible and childish gem just makes me feel for her that much more. Sure, its heartbreaking to think of the mother figure PD headcanon everyone thought she would be being shattered, but knowing she was the naive baby diamond.. it just hurts, man.
Hey what's up? Got a Theory: Yellow diamond is speaking to centipidle. Her name is Nephrite, she is with her crew and is given orders from YD to attack/colonize. Her hair is the same by what she draws in her pictures and also the ships are the same ++Nephrite is green lol.

See, I don't think PD liked humans. I think that humans might've seen PD as some sort of God and PD really liked that.
perhaps it was autonomy.
we know how structured and rigid yellow diamond's army is, and it doesn't tolerate dissent (and perhaps even original thought). so maybe pink, having been dismissed all the time, tolerated or even encouraged more freedom/autonomy in her gems, which led to the rebellion.

The attempt of Yellow Diamond to help Pink conquor Earth is what probably lead to Pinks shattering. It was probably some kind of lesson Yellow wanted to show Pink, that she wasn't ready. That's why Yellow seems to carry some kind of guilt for something she couldn't undo.

I'm referring back to one of your previous videos when I say this We should remember that it was Garnett telling all those stories to Stephen in the show is told based off of his perspective so perhaps we were only seeing what Stephen was visualizing at the time based off of what he heard from the stories which would explain why we only see silhouettes of other gems and why the diamonds look the way they did when they look like they're murals Instead of how they actually are
Going back to how amazing Peridot found the plans for the Earth colony, it probably *was* too big of a task for Pink to handle.
Just look at how that hologram of the completed Earth colony looks in comparison to the "colony" seen from the Jungle Moon. It was ruined, thousands of years later and it doesnt even look like they use it as refuge as they intended to do with Earth with all the spires and facets they planned to build. What they intended for Earth seemed pretty big, possibly bigger in comparison to other colonies in the past. Peridot was a kindergartener, you'd think she's seen stuff like that before while traveling the cosmos installing facets and kindergartens on colonies themselves.
I’ve been considering a theory of my own for a while now. I suspect, that ancient humans thought Homeworld’s forces were the wrath of God sent to test all of them and punish most of them. That kind of propaganda would have had a lot of people praying much harder than they do today. While the humans were begging for mercy the Crystal Gems conveniently started protecting them.

interesting theory. a thought that struck me while watching; pink's apparent napoleon complex may have been what caused her possible liking of humans. a preindustrial civilization would have seen the invading gems as god-like. pink might have liked that perception too much, and needing validation, left the humans to "bask in her radiance".
I´ve been wondering, about Pink being shattered. the only ones who knew that the sword was designed to let the gems unharmed were Bismuth, who told it to Steven alone. it´s like Rose were hiding the fact that the sword was designed for non-shattering, meaning that the other crystal gems thought she did shatter Pink.
