A Ruby mixing with a Sapphire broke the diamond order, which limited gems to their roles. But Rose could fuse with any of the crystal gems at any time. Sardonyx said fused gems take the abilities of their components. Perhaps one of Rose's fusions amplified her healing powers? To such an extent that Homeworld couldn't replicate it. We do know Rose is strong alone, but together they were an army strong enough for the diamonds to consider their little corruption beam.

Until "That Will Be All," I believed the theory that OUR Rose was the only Rose Quartz gem in existence. Now, that theory has officially sunk. But as this video proposes; personality-wise, what were the others like?
Actually, I don't think it's just Rose Quartz gems having this limitless potential- I think if any gems put themselves in different situations or broke away from the Homeworld mentality, they'll all have this potential and to possibly acquire new abilities. You already mentioned this with Peridot gaining her ability and that only happened when she joined the Crystal Gems. I know the focus of this video was Rose Quartz but it still, the possibility is there, even seemingly powerless Peridots have potential.
derpydash131 Tbh, I wonder if Jasper has the power to negate electricity. She's nearly impossible to poof (only Peridot could do it while Jasper was corrupted, and we know how resilient Peridot is). Jasper doesn't seem to be affected by the gem stabilizers whatsoever, since during her battle with Garnet, she landed right in the middle of the destabilizer power source/ship's engine and got shocked but didn't poof. As the "perfect" Jasper, she may be immune to things that affect all other Gems other than the Diamonds.
while this theory was mostly disproved by the rose is pink d thing, this is not to say that rose quartzes weren't amazing, they were likely mostly made to tend humans, as we have not seen any gems that are intended for this and it's highly unlikely that they left a species that built something PINK DIAMOND 'couldn't destroy' though that was a lie guards would be placed and these guards would be capable of harboring intelligence, keeping these humans in line, and being compassionate enough to care for them, not to mention that when someone got hurt and it was infected pink not only would ask yellow to "Hue-man proof (my) zoo (please)" but reengineer these gems with basic limited healing which, still not enough to rival or come close to her own, would make them high in status. I assume these Quartzes would also serve to protect the humans. While not rare, these gems would be high in status and still not be cocky because of how they were engineered, I believe these gems were made to differ from rose and the rest of pink's court, instead of being childish they are calm and intelligent like blue's court strong and buff like Yellow's court and mysterious as white's what do they have from pink? well, perhaps curiosity or ... no just curiosity. My theory is that Rose Quartzes were made specifically to be maintainers of the human zoo. It makes sense that all of them would have healing powers and empathy if they were meant to care for fragile humans. It also explains why all the bubbled quartzes are located at the zoo and also how Rose came to know about humans to begin with.
Who bubbled the other Rose Quartz gems? Their bubbles are clearly pink, and we know from the other bubbled gems in the temple that the bubble colour indicates the maker of the bubble. I don't know if it has any relevance, just curious!
Sadie B i would assume that pink diamond did it before she was shattered, because the rebellion did somewhat happened before she was shattered, by the time rose shattered pink she was a big known rebel and there were no roses in her known crew, so i assume when the rebellion started pink was made by yellow to bubble the whole cut of gem.
Shattered gems are still partially conscious and Rose's tears can easily cure gem cracks. Maybe with enough RQs you could bring a shattered gem back to life. If YD was the one to shatter PD it would make sense that she'd push for the RQs to be shattered before anyone else could realized they could bring her back.
It would have been nice if Steven's mother was a Rose Quartz as the whole rebellion and resistance thing would have been real and not based on a lie, but with the amount of powers that made Steven's mother had... It was guessable that she was a Diamond.

I truly enjoy the lessons in individuality, kindness, compassion, ect. in this show, because it displays them without patronizing it's audience. Similar to how Avater taught reponsibility and personal strength, Steven Universe has individuality and emotional awarenss to offer.
You make a good point, in that Rose and the rest of the Crystal Gems may be able to tap into extra powers due to there emotions. Which is why the diamonds may not want other gem to experience emotions and the diamonds reserve that for themselves. Peridot got completely emotional over her tablet when she discovered her powers.
Hm, the advice you give is... well intentioned but a little fool hardy. Not all of us can get away with "being ourselves" due to one undesirable trait or another, that trait constantly changing with each and every person you interact with. It's how fears of change and stagnation happens; people are constantly bit for being themselves so they retreat into a shell to escape from it and the sad fact is, people prefer you to do that. We don't value unabashed honesty, we don't want to hear the truth. We want everyone to be perfectly safe and samey in order to function. True originality is shunned, and in Rose's case, started a war that cost too many gems their lives and in her case I'd have to say, it wasn't worth it.
NoirRaven and then I feel the opposite. I know how you feel about being afraid of being yourself and if that's the way you feel that's perfectly fine and if your happier doing that then that's great! But if Rose hadn't stood up to the diamonds it would have been a much bigger loss in this case. The earth would be gone. Humans would be gone. Gems would never have started to question themselves or their existence. Peridot never would have discovered her powers. Pearl would be a slave. Rose would have to fight and kill more and more things than just the humans on earth she would've gone to other planets and killed the inhabitants there too. Ruby and Sapphire would've never have gotten to be together. And amethyst... she likely would've been shattered simply for being born defective. All of this I feel makes the gem war very worth it. Yes Gems died and no war is not a good thing, as Greg stated, but they stood up for themselves and they achieved happiness, freedom. That's the type of person I want to be. Even if I have to live secluded with just a bunch of other misfits like me, if I can be happy and myself that's who I want to be. Just like you want to be safe and not have to worry about the things I may have to worry about that's perfectly valid too. But you can't say we're fighting in vain someday we'll be able to be ourselves, the earth is constantly changing. This is directly speaking, I personally believe, to lgbt+ youth. Because Rebecca herself is bisexual she's quietly telling us that's it's OKAY to be yourself and to stand up for the right to be yourself.

Until "That Will Be All," I believed the theory that OUR Rose was the only Rose Quartz gem in existence.
Now, that theory has officially sunk. But as this video proposes; personality-wise, what were the others like?
Actually, I don't think it's just Rose Quartz gems having this limitless potential- I think if any gems put themselves in different situations or broke away from the Homeworld mentality, they'll all have this potential and to possibly acquire new abilities.
You already mentioned this with Peridot gaining her ability and that only happened when she joined the Crystal Gems.
I know the focus of this video was Rose Quartz but it still, the possibility is there, even seemingly powerless Peridots have potential.
derpydash131 Tbh, I wonder if Jasper has the power to negate electricity. She's nearly impossible to poof (only Peridot could do it while Jasper was corrupted, and we know how resilient Peridot is). Jasper doesn't seem to be affected by the gem stabilizers whatsoever, since during her battle with Garnet, she landed right in the middle of the destabilizer power source/ship's engine and got shocked but didn't poof. As the "perfect" Jasper, she may be immune to things that affect all other Gems other than the Diamonds.

while this theory was mostly disproved by the rose is pink d thing, this is not to say that rose quartzes weren't amazing, they were likely mostly made to tend humans, as we have not seen any gems that are intended for this and it's highly unlikely that they left a species that built something PINK DIAMOND 'couldn't destroy' though that was a lie guards would be placed and these guards would be capable of harboring intelligence, keeping these humans in line, and being compassionate enough to care for them, not to mention that when someone got hurt and it was infected pink not only would ask yellow to "Hue-man proof (my) zoo (please)" but reengineer these gems with basic limited healing which, still not enough to rival or come close to her own, would make them high in status. I assume these Quartzes would also serve to protect the humans. While not rare, these gems would be high in status and still not be cocky because of how they were engineered, I believe these gems were made to differ from rose and the rest of pink's court, instead of being childish they are calm and intelligent like blue's court strong and buff like Yellow's court and mysterious as white's what do they have from pink? well, perhaps curiosity or ... no just curiosity. If that. They more likely relate to their diamond with their ability to heal and compassion. I would include more but not here. maybe in a response video later.

My theory is that Rose Quartzes were made specifically to be maintainers of the human zoo. It makes sense that all of them would have healing powers and empathy if they were meant to care for fragile humans. It also explains why all the bubbled quartzes are located at the zoo and also how Rose came to know about humans to begin with.
Who bubbled the other Rose Quartz gems? Their bubbles are clearly pink, and we know from the other bubbled gems in the temple that the bubble colour indicates the maker of the bubble. But if they were bubbled because one of them shattered Pink Diamond, then who made the pink bubbles? Our Rose? Another member of Pink Diamond's court? I don't know if it has any relevance, just curious!

i would assume that pink diamond did it before she was shattered, because the rebellion did somewhat happened before she was shattered, by the time rose shattered pink she was a big known rebel and there were no roses in her known crew, so i assume when the rebellion started pink was made by yellow to bubble the whole cut of gem.

Shattered gems are still partially conscious and Rose's tears can easily cure gem cracks. Maybe with enough RQs you could bring a shattered gem back to life. If YD was the one to shatter PD it would make sense that she'd push for the RQs to be shattered before anyone else could realized they could bring her back.

I truly enjoy the lessons in individuality, kindness, compassion, ect. in this show, because it displays them without patronizing it's audience. Similar to how Avater taught reponsibility and personal strength, Steven Universe has individuality and emotional awarenss to offer.

You make a good point, in that Rose and the rest of the Crystal Gems may be able to tap into extra powers due to there emotions. Which is why the diamonds may not want other gem to experience emotions and the diamonds reserve that for themselves. Peridot got completely emotional over her tablet when she discovered her powers.
Hm, the advice you give is... well intentioned but a little fool hardy. Not all of us can get away with "being ourselves" due to one undesirable trait or another, that trait constantly changing with each and every person you interact with. It's how fears of change and stagnation happens; people are constantly bit for being themselves so they retreat into a shell to escape from it and the sad fact is, people prefer you to do that. We don't value unabashed honesty, we don't want to hear the truth. We want everyone to be perfectly safe and samey in order to function. True originality is shunned, and in Rose's case, started a war that cost too many gems their lives and in her case I'd have to say, it wasn't worth it.
NoirRaven and then I feel the opposite. I know how you feel about being afraid of being yourself and if that's the way you feel that's perfectly fine and if your happier doing that then that's great! But if Rose hadn't stood up to the diamonds it would have been a much bigger loss in this case. The earth would be gone. Humans would be gone. Gems would never have started to question themselves or their existence. Peridot never would have discovered her powers. Pearl would be a slave. Rose would have to fight and kill more and more things than just the humans on earth she would've gone to other planets and killed the inhabitants there too. Ruby and Sapphire would've never have gotten to be together. And amethyst... she likely would've been shattered simply for being born defective. All of this I feel makes the gem war very worth it. Yes Gems died and no war is not a good thing, as Greg stated, but they stood up for themselves and they achieved happiness, freedom. That's the type of person I want to be. Even if I have to live secluded with just a bunch of other misfits like me, if I can be happy and myself that's who I want to be. Just like you want to be safe and not have to worry about the things I may have to worry about that's perfectly valid too. But you can't say we're fighting in vain someday we'll be able to be ourselves, the earth is constantly changing. This is directly speaking, I personally believe, to lgbt+ youth. Because Rebecca herself is bisexual she's quietly telling us that's it's OKAY to be yourself and to stand up for the right to be yourself.
When you said, "She wanted to inspire other gems", I thought back to Pearl's song Strong in the Real Way (the actual name of the song slipped my mind). Pearl says "I want to inspire you, I want to be your rock and when I talk it lights a fire in you." Considering Pearl was seen as more or less a weak gem due to her petite physique, these words could have on been from rose, which she found solice in. I just thought I'd mention it since it struck such a huge cord with me

So wait, if Rose had so many of those abilities and there are more just like her in Pink Diamond's human zoo. Could it be possible that Pink Diamond was planning a revolution of her own?
It could be that, like Steven's multitude of gem powers are impacted by his emotional state, that same thing is true to gems, and if they were more creative and open-minded about their abilities they'd find out they had amazing talents they never knew existed because they were pidgeonholed into one purpose their whole lives. Peridot strikes me as the main example of this with her telekinesis.
