    To me this is the best 303 clone just because I can control cutoff and peak over midi cc. It make the synth to live and be impressive and expressive. It doesn’t take much space on the surface too unlike all other clones which are enormous size for single voice synth... Even that said I like the sound of Korgs own volca bass more because of 3 osc affair but it does not have midi controllable cut off and peak. Come on Korg, wtp?

    What disturbs me when watching videos of these gadgets is the fact that only very rarely complete songs are arranged with them, but there is only knob fiddling being shown or how weird you can distort some sounds in a way you would never find it in a certain music style - except hardcore tekkkno or dubstep.

    Will a chain of slides increase the amp decay? or will it still die out fast? (haven't watched full video yet so maybe answered)

    • @YouTubeSupportTeams
      @YouTubeSupportTeams Před 3 lety +1

      There is sustain mode which helps a bit. If you chain the slides it's just the same as holding your finger on a key, it still fades away. There is no infinite sustain. It's really an acid bass line synth which it's awesome for

      As Charizma mentioned, these are not real tubes. Its some weird concoction that Korg came up with that has tube-like properties. The Vox amps and the Tubescreamer definitely came before the NuBass. I stand corrected.

  • @YouTubeSupportTeams
    @YouTubeSupportTeams Před 3 lety +1

    i might be sold on the fact it's easier to program than a td3, it has motion control unlike other bass synths of this price bracket, it has a sub osc. It would have been nice if the drive circuit was nastier. it's not very aggressive. a proper distortion would be good.

      @@rorz999 I have one sitting beside me :) bought it a few weeks ago and it's AWESOME. With the ease of note input and rand funtions this is the best analog acid machine on the modern market hands down. And yes I ran it through the tube scream on my mc707 and there you go.. Full analog 303 acid which can't be distinguished from the real 303 I don't care what any purist says I know the authentic sound of analog acid

    • @stormevans6897
      @stormevans6897 Před 4 lety

      The original Volca Bass is much more worth it in my opinion. they're super cheap used and make some FAT sounds, People mod them out. put them together on racks, and you can even by one of those cheap tube preamps to add some natural tubiness. This one isn't terrible though. but it is basically the volca bass with less oscillators and less control over them, with added saturation.

    Nice apparatus, sound is fat and rich, but it seems like not doing much soundwise. The original Volca Bass is much more versatile, except for motion recording. If only Nubass had adjustable pitch on sub at least, or additional VTO, just a suboctave is really boring.

      For the price,I would prefer to buy a synth from Behringer.
      The sound doesn"t please to me at all.
      And what is this square sound that doesn"t sound square at all.
      For me,that's not the best of the small cheap Machines from Korg.
      I saw it costs 185€
      Too expensive for what it is.
      And only 16 steps sequencer as all the machines propose 64 minimum today.
      The BEHRINGER TD3 sounds much better for a lower price.

    • @Gwyn94
      @Gwyn94 Před 2 lety

      Eh, wouldn't really consider it a flop. It's probably the most niche of the volca line, and that filter should open up more, but it's fine for what it is: an acid bass machine. Seems like it has a lot more sonic capability than the Behringer TD-3, and a hell of a lot easier to sequence. If I could do it again (or if I could sell my TD-3 for a decent price) I'd probably just get this instead.
