      I think she's entitled to have her opinion. However, kids. 9 and 11 are emasculated? I think she uses them to make her point, which has nothing to do with the movie. A bunch of conservative people didn't like the movie upfront to see it because of the force inclusion thing. She's a conservative at heart. And idgaf about that if she didn't use the empowerment movement to trash her ex and make some money. She was even saying in interviews that there's a hell for women who doesn't support other women. Way to support Gretta's work!

      @@jlopezb04 I got the same conclusion you have. She is Colombian .. so in a way there is roots of being raised conservative… perhaps . Not necessarily 100% … but I thought through her music and fans … she came across as an open minded person. It’s hard to know I’ve know people that were free liberal “outdoors” or among friends and very conservative within the “family” . She did surprise me though. Maybe she will embrace the conservative movement?

      @@Horus070 I surely hope so. I'm not conservative, but I think everyone can think wherever she wants, but to use empowerment, talk about she wolfpack, go in interviews and said men need to cry now, only to sell albums is very disappointing. Like she said in a song "I can't stand people with two faces".

    Glad the thought police are in full swing. Don't really care what Shakira thinks of a movie for heaven sake but the attacks show an authoritarian, intolerance of varying perspectives. I found the movie mediocre and that is perhaps why it received few awards.

    Shes right about everything except the movie. Its not emasculating, the movie is just set in a womans world. The best way to describe is: A woman can feel authoritative and a boss in her own world. And in this world, the barbie world, you can pin it up a womans psyche so to speak, she and her fellow women are bosses. Sort of like a grp of feminists thinking they dont need men. Its in their head, its fiction. But in the REAL world, outside of womans fantasy, the men rule. Its literally a womans childhood fantasy vs the real world and no depiction whatsoever of real men. Just the men in their fantasy world.

    • @sandygonsalves4646
      @sandygonsalves4646 Před měsícem

      And the men in their fantasy world were emasculated. So how is the claim that this movie emasculates men wrong? You just proved her point. Also by that very plot point this movie is NOT feminist, as feminism is allegedly supposed to be about the equality of the sexes.

      @@sandygonsalves4646 Those men were the ones who created the barbie world. Or atleast continued it just like there are men who sit behind the wheel and let their woman make all the decisions. Also, feminism is supposed to be about equality but I was referencing the other feminists who take it to the extreme and don’t want a man to do anything for them. Theyre out there 100%. I never felt emasculated from the movie, I found it funny and amusing. Definitely was rooting for ken the way I would root for a friend. Sometimes was disappointed in his ways but again, the way you would be for a friend that wont take your advice and likes to stay in these situations

    Perhaps it’s just that Sharika is more conservative in her private life than WE thought 🤷‍♂️?
    Personally, i think she is free to say what she think … in fact it’s probably more honest of her. Her message was mostly correct with the exception that she didn’t truly understand the movie.
    The movie went out of its way to show both sides of the coin. The Barbie World in a way was an allegory for how things can be for men in reverse to women.

      I don't think she is conservative. She herself is a woman who provides alone and self admittedly cant cook and refuses to make extra efforts to learn to do so. If you read her full interview, she says a lot of things that the movie says as well. I guess it's just a case of her not understanding the movie.
