  • FitcamX makes a very solid product. In this video, I go from unboxing through installation and use of the FItcamX dash cam. I have to say that I'm very impressed. I highly recommend this camera. Seems like a great value for the money.

Steve, you are a godsend for my new 2024 Crowm Max. I was good with 2.5, but 3.0 is more complicated and explained ver well. I subscribed! As far as FitcamX goes, they are awesome for me. I had one on my 2022 Avalon and now on the Crown. They are highly recommended for Toyota owners (because that is what I used them on), but they make them for a lot of other cars as well. For about $170 to have a clean factory look they are the only choice for me.

Thanks Steve, I enjoy all your videos. Since most salesman aren’t very good at instructing us on details of tech features I always check your videos for advice. I’ve been considering a camera like this for my 24 Prius and this looks like a fine alternative. Probably would have paid for the optional one on delivery but it was never mentioned.

They do make a model with a rear camera. That is when you use the trim removal tool. There is also an on optional power cable for parking mode.
I have a dual camera system in my 2022 Camry and 2024 RAV4. Love it.

Apparently it's not made for 2024 Rav4 Prime. But my question is, if the onboard camera installed as part of OEM, why would I need or want to replace it with a third part accessory? Isn't the onboard doing the same thing? I guess one advantage would be that one could more easily extract the data from it in a more immediate manner? I'd like an accessory camera that monitors motion around the car, such as in the case of attempted break-ins. Any ideas?

If you have the accessory dash cam, then this would be redundant. If you're talking about the camera that is part of the Safety Sense, then there is a huge distinction. That camera is not readily accessible to share videos.

@@TrainerSteveClifford I'm not aware of an accessory dash cam on my 2024 Rav4. Just the rear back up and the front Safety Sense, which are both OEM. It seems this FixCamX would make sense for the immediate accessibility of the camera data, even if this is not only about collisions with one's own vehicle, but also as a recorder of any other vehicular traffic incidents as well? Thanks again for your informative videos!

@@Parnosah that’s exactly the idea of a dash cam. I’ve seen a lot of scammers who make crazy claims that would be disproven by a camera. Car crashes, bad drivers and just protecting yourself from fraud are the reasons I chose to have one

@@TrainerSteveClifford one last question: would installing this in a sense void some aspect of the warranty on a newly purchased vehicle? I suppose I could ask my Toyota dealer for clarification as well. Thanks.

@@Parnosah If anything you install interferes with any factory feature, that feature would not be covered by the warranty. The wiring harness could theoretically be defective and thereby affect the vehicle's electronics so that is a risk. I am comfortable with that risk and I didn't see anything that could cause problems but the risk does exist.
